Introduction
The StarTech.com SVID2USB23 USB 2.0 S-Video/Composite video Capture Cable lets
you connect devices that output S-Video or Composite video to a computer, through
an available USB 2.0 port. The cable also features two channel RCA stereo audio inputs,
that let you capture the audio that accompanies the S-Video or Composite video
signal. Support for TWAIN drivers to enable various third party video capture software,
the capture cable oers real time MPEG1 and MPEG2 recording.

Installation
1. Please insert the included Driver CD into the CD-ROM Drive.
2. At the Windows desktop, click the Start button, then “Run”. If this option is not
available from the Start menu, press and hold the Windows key ( ) on the
keyboard and press “R”.
3. Type “D:\EM2860\Setup.exe” into the Run window and click the OK button. (Change
D: to match your CD-ROM drive letter)
4. The Driver install program will being. Proceed through any prompts as necessary.
If a Windows Security dialog window appears, click the “Install this driver software
anyway” or “Continue Anyway” option to proceed.
5. Restart Windows to complete the driver installation.
6. Once the computer has booted into Windows, plug the SVID2USB22 adapter cable
into an available USB2.0 port.
7. Windows should automatically detect new hardware and begin to load the drivers.

8. If a Windows Security dialog window appears, click the “Install this driver software
anyway” or “Continue Anyway” option to proceed.
9. Connect the video source to the video capture adapter either through S-Video
(black) or composite video (yellow) using the appropriate cables. Stereo audio (red/
white) can also be connected to the adapter.
Verifying Installation
From the main desktop, right-click on “My Computer” (“Computer” in Vista/7), then
select Manage. In the new Computer Management window, select Device Manager
from the left window panel.
Click on the “+” (plus sign) in front of “Sound, video and game controllers”, a “USB 2861”
or “AV Grabber” device and/or a USB audio device should be displayed under this
category depending on the operating system.

Software Installation (Optional)
To install Ulead® VideoStudio® for use as video capture and editing software, follow
these installation steps. If other video capture/editing software is to be used, then this
is not necessary.
1. Place the Ulead Video Studio SE CD into a CD-ROM drive and setup should launch
automatically. If setup does not launch, use Windows Explorer to navigate to
appropriate CD-ROM drive and run the Setup.
2. The installation wizard will start the installation process, click OK to start installing.
NOTE: The serial installation key is included on the back of the CD sleeve.
3. Follow the installation wizard and complete the steps to nish Ulead VideoStudio 11
SE DVD software.
NOTE: For any further assistance with installation, how-to-use or troubleshooting
VideoStudio problems, please contact the developer of the software, Ulead (www.
ulead.com).
