Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a StarTech.com VideoView VGAvideo splitter. Depending on the model you purchased, you can now share one video source between two (ST122), four (ST124), or eight (ST128) screens. These video boosters are ideal for sending video signals over long distances (up to 210ft/65m) and for the remote broadcast of stock information, the remote display of lectures or lessons to classrooms, the remote display of speeches or demonstrations to overflow rooms, and numerous other applications.

Before You Begin
To ensure a quick and easy device installation, please read through this section carefully before attempting to install the device.
Hardware Requirements
• One or more XGA, SVGA, VGA and/or Multisync-compatible analog monitor(s) with standard PC high density cables with 15-pin D-type male connectors
• One XGA, SVGA, VGA, or Multisync analog video card with a standard PC 15-pin D­type female connector
• SVGA extension cable(s) (not included)
NOTE:
1. This product is not suitable for CGA, EGA, or Monochrome monitors using a digital video signal.
2. UL-2919 rated cable (such as the StarTech.com MXT101HQ_50 or MXT101HQ_100) is recommended for the best video quality.

Installation
This section will guide you through the installation of your Video Splitter. Please read through the instructions carefully and complete each step in the order listed.
1. Make sure that the computers and monitors you are using are turned off.
2. Plug one end of your SVGA extension cable into the Video Splitter’s Video In port. Plug the other end into your computer’s video output port.
3. Plug your monitor cable into any of the Video Splitter’s available Video Out ports.
4. Repeat Step 3 for any other monitors you wish to attach to the Video Splitter.
5. Set the Video Splitter’s Gain Control switch as follows:
High if any of the monitors are more than 98ft (30m) away from your computer
Normal if all of the monitors are less than 98ft (30m) away
NOTE: The Gain Control switch is located on the front of the ST122, and on the bottom of the ST124/128.
6. Plug the power adapter into the Video Splitter’s AC 9V power jack. Plug the other end into an available wall socket.
7. Power up all devices. To turn on the ST124 and ST128, press the Power button on the front of the unit. The ST122 does not require a power button. If the devices are properly connected to their power source, the power LED on the front of the device should be lit.
NOTE: The ST122 also has a Signal LED that will be lit when the signal is clear between the device and the computer.
Cascading Your Video Splitters
To cascade the Video Splitters, use an SVGA extension cable to connect the Video Out port of the Master Video Splitter unit (the unit directly connected to the computer) to the
Video In port of the Slave Video Splitter unit.
NOTE: The 210ft (65m) broadcasting length does not apply to cascaded units. Video
Splitters that are cascaded should be stacked or kept close together.
