Installation

DIN Rail Bracket Installation

If you are mounting the ICUSB232IS product onto a DIN Rail, you will rst need to attach the included DIN Rail Bracket to the device. Note that the spring clip portion of the bracket should be at the bottom.
1. Hold the ICUSB232IS device with the USB port facing down and place the DIN rail bracket on the back of the device, lining up the screw holes.
2. Insert the 2 included screws and tighten.

Driver Installation

Windows
1. Upon starting Windows, if the Found New Hardware wizard appears on the screen, cancel/close the window and insert the included Driver CD into the computer’s CD/ DVD drive.
2. Open the Device Manager by right-clicking on Computer, and then select Manage. In the new Computer Management window, select Device Manager from the left window panel (For Windows 8, open the Control Panel and select Device Manager).
3. Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section and right-click on the newly detected “USB Serial Converter” device
4. Select Update Driver Software, which will start the Update Driver Software Wizard.
5. On the How do you want to search for driver software? window, click Browse my computer for driver software.
6. Click the Browse button, and navigate to your CD/DVD drive, then to the “Win XP Vista Win 7 8” folder.
7. Select the appropriate 32 (i386) or 64-bit (amd64) OS folder for the system you are using and click Next to install the drivers.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 for the “USB Serial Port” device located in the Other Devices section.

Mac OS
1. Connect the USB Serial Adapter to an available USB port.
2. Insert the provided CD into your DVD/CD-ROM drive.
3. Browse to the Mac OS folder on the disc.
4. Mount the FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_2_18.dmg le, and then run the FTDIUSBSerialDriver.pkg application le that is appropriate for the version of Mac OS you are running to start the install.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
NOTE: You may be prompted to restart once the install completes.

Verifying Installation

1. Open the Device Manager by right-clicking on Computer, and then select Manage. In the new Computer Management window, select Device Manager from the left window panel (For Windows 8, open the Control Panel and select Device Manager).
2. Expand the Ports (COM & LPT), and Universal Serial Bus Controllers sections. On a successful install, you should see 1 Atil USB Serial Port (COMx) device under the Ports (COM & LPT) section, and 1 USB Serial Converter device under Universal Serial Bus Controllers with no exclamation points or question marks.

1. Open the System Proler by clicking the Apple symbol in the top left corner, selecting About this Mac, then select System Report
2. Expand the “Hardware” section and click “USB” in the left column. With the adapter connected, you should see the following device in the list.
