APPLICATION:
The MOD-RS485 is a RS-232 to RS-485 converter, which is designed for use with
any Windows 95 or later operating system. When used in conjunction with the
Compool Softcp program, Version 2.0, it allows complete operation of a Cp3800
series control system from a personal computer. The MOD-RS485 can also be used
to link a Cp3800 series control system with other home automation systems.
However, software must be available from the respective automation supplier to
interact with the Compool system.
INSTALLATION:
1. Plug the MOD-RS485 into the computer serial port (COM1 or COM2)
socket.
2. Connect the 6COND hookup cable (25' provided) to the MOD-RS485 and
and run the wire to the indoor control panel. Connect wire to the second
COM PORT socket.
3. If the indoor control panel is not being used, connect the 6COND cable
into the power center circuit board. Plug into the second COM PORT
socket.

Softcp is a Windows program that is included and provides complete
control of your Compool control system.
System Requirements:
• Cp3830, Cp3820, Cp3810, Cp3800, Cp3600, or Cp3400
control system
• Win95 or later - operating system
• Available serial port
• RS-485 adapter (included in this kit)
