SAFETY WARNINGS AND GUIDELINES

Please read this entire manual before using this device, paying extra attention to these safety
warnings and guidelines. Please keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

• This device is intended for indoor use only.

• Do not expose this device to water or moisture of any kind. Do not place drinks or other

containers with moisture on or near the device. If moisture does get in or on the device,
immediately unplug it from the power outlet and allow it to fully dry before reapplying
power.

• Do not touch the device, the power cord, or any other connected cables with wet hands.

• If operating this speaker in a humid environment, ensure that no condensation occurs.

Condensation could cause damage to the speaker cone and could cause a short in the
amplifier, which in turn could cause fire or severe electric shock.

• Do not install this device on an unstable surface where it could fall and cause either

personal injury or damage to the device and/or other equipment.

• When installing this device, ensure that the mount is sufficiently robust to support the

weight of the unit and to prevent unwanted movement.

• Do not expose this device to excessive vibration.

• Do not stack these speakers in such a way that they could fall on people or animals if they

were to become dislodged.

• Do not expose this device to excessively high temperatures. Do not place it in, on, or near

a heat source, such as a fireplace, stove, radiator, etc. Do not leave it in direct sunlight.

• Do not place or install this device in an area where it can be exposed to excessive amounts

of dust, humidity, oil, smoke, or combustible vapors.

• Prior to operation, check the unit and power cord for physical damage. Do not use if

physical damage has occurred.

• Before plugging the unit into a power outlet, ensure that the outlet provides the same

type and level of power required by the device.

• This device uses a grounded power cord and requires a ground connection for safe

operation. Ensure that the power source has a proper ground connection. Do not modify
the plug or use a "cheater" plug to bypass the ground connection.

• Disconnect the unit from the power source when replacing the fuse. Replace the fuse only

with the same type.

• Unplug this device from the power source when not in use.

• Take care to prevent damage to the power cord. Do not allow it to become crimped,

pinched, walked on, or become tangled with other cords. Ensure that the power cord does
not present a tripping hazard.

• Never unplug the unit by pulling on the power cord. Always grasp the connector head or

adapter body.

• Ensure that power is turned off and disconnected before making any electrical

connections.

• Clean using a soft, dry cloth only. Do not use chemical cleaners, solvents, or detergents. For

stubborn deposits, moisten the cloth with warm water.

• This device has no user serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open, service, or modify this

device.

• When removing these speakers from the box, take care to avoid touching the speaker

cones. The speaker cones are delicate and can be easily damaged.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Front Panel

1. TWEETER: The tweeter outputs the high frequency

content.

2. WOOFER: The woofer outputs the low frequency

content.

3. LED: The LED illuminates Blue when the speaker is

powered on, Red when it is in standby mode, and is Off
when power is not connected.

Rear Panel

1. XLR: The XLR jack accepts balanced or

unbalanced XLR signal connections.

2. TRS: The TRS jack accepts balanced or

unbalanced TRS or TS signal connections.

3. RCA: The RCA jack accepts unbalanced RCA

signal connections.

4. SETTING: The LOW FREQ switch sets the

lowest frequency that the speaker can
reproduce (default 50Hz) and the HIGH FREQ
switch sets the amount of boost or
attenuation to apply to high frequency
content (default 0dB).

5. VOLUME: Use the volume control to set the output to the desired volume level.

6. POWER: The power switch turns the speaker on or off.

7. AC IN: IEC 60320 C14 panel connector for connecting the included AC power cord. The

speaker accepts AC power from 100 ~ 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.

8. FUSE: The fuse holder holds the speaker's fuse. The proper fuse type is listed underneath

the fuse holder. Always physically disconnect the speaker from AC power before replacing
the fuse.

SAMPLE CONNECTION DIAGRAM

SPEAKER PLACEMENT

Following are some tips and guidelines to assist in proper placement and getting the most out of
your new studio monitors.

• Always power off and unplug the speakers

from the power source before making any
electrical or audio connections.

• If possible, mount the speakers on speaker

stands. If the speakers must be placed on a
desk or table, use acoustic isolation pads (not
included) to isolate the speaker from the desk
surface to help prevent unwanted resonances.

• Ideally, the speakers should be placed at two

corners of an equilateral triangle, with your
head at the tip and the speakers slightly
angled in towards your listening position.

• Ideally, the speakers should be installed so

that the point on the speaker that is midway
between the tweeter and woofer is at ear
height.

• Ideally, the speakers should be placed upright,

with the tweeter above the woofer. If they
must be mounted on their sides, orient them
so that the tweeters are on the inside to
improve imaging.

• For best results, use balanced XLR or TRS

cables for the signal input. Unbalanced cables
can introduce unwanted noise.
