WARNING

Connections

1. Connect the power cord to an AC outlet.

2. Connect the RCA cable to the PHONO input of your mixer or receiver. You can also plug straight into powered monitors by

setting the phono/line switch at the rear of the turntable to line.

Tone Arm and Cartridge Settings

The major cause of problems in sound and skipping on the vinyl is the lack of proper set up of the needle and turntable adjustments. The needle is designed to operate at a s pecific angle to the vinyl. The ST.150 M2 has several adjustments to correctly position the needle to the vinyl.

The first adjustment is the correct installation of the cartridge. Your cartridge is to be mounted into the headshell as per the mounting instructions included with the cartridge. Please see the owner’s manual for the cartridge you purchased.

The second adjustment is at the installation of the cartridge-head-shell assembly into the tone arm tube lock. Holding the tone arm tube in one hand, insert the cartridge-headshell into the tube lock with the other hand. Turn the lock ring clockwise (when viewed from the rear) until the headshell is locked tightly into the tone arm. Remove the needle protector from the cartridge and place the needle on record. View the needle from the front and insure that the needle is perpendicular to the record surface. If some adjustment is needed, simply loosen the two small screws at the under and behind the tube lock and rotate the cartridge-headshell until the needle is perpendicular to the record surface. Then re -tighten the screws. Note: This is set at the factory and most likely, you will not need to do anything.

The third adjustment is the needle (or stylus) pressure. Start with the cartridge-headshell assembly mounted into the tone arm. Remove any needle protectors provided. With tone arm free, adjust the tone arm counterweight by rotating the rear section until the tone arm floats in a balanced condition above the record or mat. Do not allow the needle to drop onto the mat or the turntable platter during this adjustment. You might damage the needle tip. Now, carefully hold the tone arm in one hand while rotating the numbered ring on the front of the counter-weight with the other hand to the “0” setting. Next, without touching the numbered ring, Rotate the rear counterweight until the desired needle pressure reading is next to the line on top of the tone arm tube, check instructions included with your cartridge for proper settings. Then set the antiskate to the same number. (Note: the STR8.150 M2 does not need anti-skate)

The fourth and last adjustment is that of the tone arm height. This will set the tone arm pivot and needle relation with the vinyl. Unlock the tone arm base located in the base of pivot assembly. Rotate the height adjust ring in the pivot base to read the correct setting for the height adjust ring in the pivot base to read the correct setting for the height of the cartridge that you are using. Check the cartridge/arm height table for the correct setting. Be certain to re-lock the pivot base when adjustment is completed. You can also eyeball this. With the needle resting on an album, adjust the height do that the tone arm is parallel with the record surface.

Part Names and Functions

1) START/STOP Press this button to start or

stop the platter. Double-tap to engage reverse, abbreviated rev. To start in reverse push and hold START/ STOP to arm (blinking blue light) then hit START/ STOP to start in reverse

2) PLATTER SPEED (rpm) Press to toggle

through platter speed, 33, 45, 78. HIDDEN FUNCTION: Press and hold to

toggle the platter strobe light on/off.

3) TARGET LIGHT Insert target light to the

deck and it will light up.

4) HEADSHELL LOCKING NUT Attach the

headshell by inserting into the front end of the tone arm. Turn the locking nut clockwise with the head shell firmly held horizontally.

5) PITCH SLIDER The pitch slider is used to

speed up or slow down the turntable platter.

6) TONE ARM This is a fully manual tone arm. To start playback, gently place the stylus on the record using the headshell

finger support. Do not drop the stylus onto the record as it may cause damage to the diamond tip or to the record.

7) PITCH SELECT Press the button to switch between +/-8%, +/-25%, or +/-50% pitch range.

HIDDEN FUNCTION: Press and hold to lock the pitch control at 0%.

8) TONE ARM BASE The tone arm base includes the height adjustment and tone arm rest. See facing page for cartridge

settings for proper adjustments.

9) ANTI SKATE KNOB When a record is playing, a force is generated drawing the stylus towards the center of the record. Set this

knob to the same value as the stylus pressure to offset this force. NOTE No anti-skate control is needed for the STR8.150 M2. Straight tonearms aren't naturally pulled in towards the spindle and so anti-skate controls are not required.

10) COUNTERWEIGHT Use this to balance the tone arm and to adjust the stylus pressure. See facing page for cartridge

settings for proper adjustments.

11) OUTPUT L & R This is the standard analog output (RCA jacks) which can be connected either to a phono or line input on

any DJ mixer, depending on the setting of the phono/line selector. You can also plug straight into powered speakers like the KRK Rokit series RCA input and setting the switch to line.

12) GROUND LIFT Due to the variety of power sources available to the DJ, Stanton has included a ground lift switch to be

used on the ST- 150/STR8-150 turntables. This will allow the DJ to have the capability of changing the grounding scheme of the phono cartridge to avoid ground hum that may occur when using the turntable. (See online manual for more info)

13) PHONO/LINE SWITCH Set to phono when connecting to a powered receiver. Set to line when plugged directly into

powered speakers/monitors.

14) BRAKE The Brake time is adjustable from approx. 0.2~9 sec.

15) POWER CORD CONNECTOR Used to connect the included power cord.

16) POWER SWITCH This switch turns the power on or off, including the motor and audio signal.

17) STROBE DOTS The dots around the edge of the platter are used in conjunction with the light located inside the motor

ON/OFF switch. While the platter is in rotation, the dots help to indicate the speed of rotation. The speed is lower than the displayed speed (33,45,78) when the dots are flowing to the right. It is higher than the displayed speed (33,45,78) when the dots are flowing to the left. When the strobe is stopped, the platter is rotating at the displayed speed.

18) STROBE LIGHT Illuminates the strobe dots for setting speed.

In the event of malfunction of your Gibson Pro Audio merchandise, the Dealer or Owner must call Customer Service @ 1-8004GIBSON (1-800-444-2766) and obtain a Return Authorization number from the customer service agent. No merchandise may be returned to Gibson without such prior Return Authorization, and the Return Authorization number must be written on the outside of the shipping package. The Customer Service agent will provide the address and additional shipping instructions. Owner must ship the merchandise, freight, and insurance pre-paid to the address provided by the customer service representative. Conexiones

1. Conecte el cable de alimentación a una toma AC.

Ajustes del brazo de lectura y cartucho

La principal causa de problemas en el sonido y saltos de aguja es la falta de una configuración adecuado de los ajustes de la aguja y del plato. La aguja está diseñada para funcionar a un ángulo determinado con respecto al vinilo. El ST.150 M2 tiene varios ajustes para colocar la aguja en el vinilo correctamente.

El primer ajuste consiste en la instalación correcta del cartucho. El cartucho debe montarse en la cubierta conforme a las instrucciones de montaje incluidas en el cartucho. Consulte el manual de instrucciones del cartucho que ha comprado.

El segundo ajuste se realiza en la instalación del conjunto cartucho-cubierta en bloqueo de tubo del brazo de lectura. Sujete el tubo del brazo de lectura con una mano e inserte el conjunto cartucho-cubierta en el bloqueo de tubo con la otra mano. Gire el anillo de bloqueo en sentido horario (visto desde atrás) hasta que al cubierta quede bien unida al brazo de lectura. 4) TUERCA DE CIERRE DE CUBIERTA: Acople

la cubierta insertándola en el extremo delantero del brazo de lectura. Gire la tuerca de cierre en sentido horario sujetando la cubierta horizontalmente.

5) CONTROL DESLIZANTE DEL PITCH: El control deslizante del pitch sirve para acelerar o ralentizar el plato.

6) BRAZO DE LECTURA: Este brazo de lectura es completamente manual. Para iniciar la reproducción coloque suavemente

el puntero en el disco usando el asidero de la cubierta. No deje caer la aguja en el disco, ya que podría dañar la punta de diamante o el disco.

7) SELECCIÓ N DE PITCH: Pulse el botón para cambiar entre intervalo de pitch de +/-8 %, +/-25 %, o +/-50 %.

8) BASE DE BRAZO DE LECTURA: La base del brazo de lectura incluye el ajuste de altura y el apoyo de brazo de lectura.

11) OUT L & R: Se trata de la salida analógica estándar (jacks RCA) que pueden conectarse a una entrada phono o line en

cualquier mesa de mezclas de DJ, dependiendo del ajuste del selector de phono/line. También puede conectarlo directamente a altavoces activos como la serie KRK Rokit con entrada RCA y poner el interruptor en line.

12) INTERRUPTOR GROUND LIFT (SEPARACIÓN DE MASA): Debido a la variedad de fuentes de alimentación al alcance del DJ,

Stanton ha incluido un interruptor de separación de masa para utilizarse en los platos ST-150/STR8-150. Servicio de garantía de productos adquiridos a un distribuidor autorizado de Gibson Pro Audio en los EE.UU.:

En el caso de que se produzca un funcionamiento incorrecto del producto de Gibson Pro Audio, el distribuidor o propietario deben llamar al servicio de atención al cliente al número de teléfono1-800-4GIBSON (1-800-444-2766) y conseguir un número de autorización de devolución del agente del servicio de atención al cliente.
