2 Safety Notes
The unit and the AC/AC adaptor correspond
to the directive for electromagnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC. The AC/AC adaptor additionally corresponds to the low voltage directive 73/23/EEC.
It is necessary to observe in any case the
following items:
●
The AC/AC adaptor is suitable for indoor
use only. Protect the unit and the AC/AC
adaptor against dripping water and splash
water, high air humidity and heat (admissible ambient temperature range 0–40°C).
●
Even if the unit is switched off, the AC/AC
adaptor connected to the mains has a low
power consumption.
●
Do not take the unit into operation or immediately take the AC/AC adaptor out of
the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or AC/AC adaptor
can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a
drop or similar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit resp. the AC/AC adaptor must in
any case be repaired by authorized skilled
personnel.
●
If the unit or the AC/AC adaptor is used for
purposes other than originally intended, if it
is not connected or operated correctly or
not repaired by authorized skilled personnel, there is no liability for possible damage.
●
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth. Do
not use any chemicals or water.
●
If the unit and the AC/AC adaptor are to be
put out of operation definitively, they must
be disposed of in a local recycling plant.
3 Applications
The MPA-102 is a microphone preamplifier
in low noise semiconductor technique to be
used on the stage and in the sound recording studio as well as for home recording and
multimedia applications.
The unit has a balanced XLR microphone
input and a balanced XLR line output. The
amplified microphone signal can additionally
be taken off at a stereo line output or may be
added to a fed-through stereo line signal.
4 Connecting the Unit
The microphone preamplifier should be
switched off if connections to other units are
going to be made resp. changed.
1) The power supply of the microphone pre-
amplifier is either via the provided AC/AC
adaptor (15 V~) or – for the mobile use
of the unit – via four 9 V transistor bat-
teries. The inserted batteries are discon-
nected during power supply via the
AC/AC adaptor.
-
For supplying the unit via the AC/AC
adaptor, connect the adaptor to the
jack (9).
-
For battery operation remove the four
screws at the bottom housing of the
Attention!
The AC/AC adaptor uses dangerous mains
voltage (230V~). T o prevent a shock hazard
do not open the cabinet. Leave servicing to
authorized skilled personnel only. Furthermore, any guarantee claim expires if the
AC/AC adaptor has been opened.
