Step-down DC-DC converter at 3.3 Vout/20 A and switching
frequency of 400 kHz evaluation board based on L6730
Features
Output voltage: 3.3 V
Selectable switching frequency
Overvoltage protection
Thermal shut-down
Description
This 4-layer PCB demoboard implements a stepdown DC/DC converter and shows the operation of the L6730 device in a general-purpose application. The input voltage can range from
4.5 V to 14 V and the output voltage is 3.3 V. The module can deliver an output current in excess of 30 A. The switching frequency is set at 400 kHz (controller free-running FSW), but it can be increased up to 1 MHz. A 7-position dip-switch selects the UVLO threshold (5 V or 12 V bus), the OVP intervention mode and the sink-mode current capability.
