SAFETY WARNINGS AND GUIDELINES
Please read this entire manual before using this device, paying extra attention to these
safety warnings and guidelines. Please keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
This speaker is intended for indoor use only.
Do not expose this speaker to water or moisture of any kind. Do not place drinks or
other containers with moisture on or near it. If moisture does get in or on it,
immediately unplug it from the power outlet and allow it to fully dry before
reapplying power (active models only).
Do not touch the speaker, the power cord, or any other connected cables with wet
hands.
If operating this speaker in a humid environment, ensure that no condensation
occurs. Condensation could cause damage to the speaker cone (all models) and
could cause a short in the amplifier (active models only), which in turn could cause
fire or severe electric shock.
When installing this speaker, ensure that the mount is sufficiently robust to support
the weight of the unit and to prevent unwanted movement.
Do not stack these speakers in such a way that they could fall on people or animals
if they were to become dislodged.
Do not expose this speaker to excessively high temperatures. Do not place it in, on,
or near a heat source, such as a fireplace, stove, radiator, etc. Do not leave it in
direct sunlight.
Prior to operation, check the speaker and power cord for physical damage. Do not
use if physical damage has occurred (active models only).
Before plugging the speaker into a power outlet, ensure that the outlet provides
the same type and level of power required by the device (active models only).
This speaker uses a grounded power cord and requires a ground connection for safe
operation. Ensure that the power source has a proper ground connection. Do not
modify the plug or use a "cheater" plug to bypass the ground connection (active
models only).
2
Disconnect the speaker from the power source when replacing the fuse. Replace
the fuse only with the same type (active models only).
Unplug this speaker from the power source when not in use (active models only).
Take care to prevent damage to the power cord. Do not allow it to become
crimped, pinched, walked on, or become tangled with other cords. Ensure that the
power cord does not present a tripping hazard (active models only).
Never unplug the speaker by pulling on the power cord. Always grasp the
connector head or adapter body (active models only).
Clean using a soft, dry cloth only. Do not use chemical cleaners, solvents, or
detergents. For stubborn deposits, moisten the cloth with warm water.
This speaker has no user serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open, service, or
modify this speaker.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Passive Models
1. INPUT: Combined NL4 / 1/4" unbalanced
input. The NL4 connector uses the +1/-1
conductors, but can pass through the
+2/-2 conductors.
2. OUTPUT: Combined NL4 / 1/4"
unbalanced output. The NL4 connector
uses the +1/-1 conductors, but can pass
through the +2/-2 conductors.
There are no active electronics in the passive PA
speaker models (604410, 604412, and 604415). A
power amplifier or powered mixer must be used
to produce sound with these models.
All connections are wired in parallel, so you can
use an NL4 connection on the input and a 1/4"
connection on the output, for example. One or
more additional speakers can be daisy chained
together. All speakers in the chain are
connected in parallel, which means that the
overall impedance is 8 ohms divided by the number of speakers (4 ohms for 2 speakers,
2.67 ohms for 3, etc.), so ensure that your amplifier is stable at the overall impedance.

Active Models
1. LIMIT: The LED illuminates whenever
the system limiter is active.
2. POWER: The LED illuminates when
power is applied.
3. MASTER: This knob controls the overall
(master) volume level.
4. HIGH: This knob controls the high
frequency (treble) output level (±12dB
@ 10kHz).
5. MID: This knob controls the mid-range
output level (±12dB @ 1.3kHz).
6. LOW: This knob controls the low
frequency (bass) output level (±12dB @
100Hz).
7. LINE VOL: This knob controls the line
level input volume. The line level input
is the sum of the input on the 1/4" and
RCA jacks.
8. MIC VOL: This knob controls the microphone input volume.
9. R/L LINE IN: Two RCA line level input jacks. The output is monophonic sum of the
two jacks.
10. BAL: Balanced 1/4" line level input.
11. MIC IN (BAL): Balanced XLR line level input.
12. LINE OUT: Balanced XLR line level output. The output is the sum/mix of all inputs.
13. ~100-120V 60Hz T4AL: Combined IEC 60320 C14 AC power socket and fuse holder.
14. POWER: Master power switch.

INSTALLATION NOTES
For best results installing and using these speakers, please consider the following
guidelines.
The speakers should be placed in a position that allows for unobstructed sound
projection. In many cases, it is beneficial to use elevated tripod stands to achieve
maximum sound dispersion and reach, such as the Monoprice PA Speaker Stands
(P/N 602350).
Use professional advice and service when hanging and installing speakers. Take all
precautions to secure them to prevent falling, which can cause severe injury or
death, as well as damaging the speakers or other components. Comply with all
applicable safety regulations.
Use high quality twist-type (NL4) speaker cables, such as the Monoprice NL4
