GENERAL
Walk-in insulated panels shall be of pre-fabricat construction designed for fast and easy field assembly, relocation, and future expansion by the addition of like panels. Outdoor walk-ins will include a heavy-duty, one-piece membrane roof cap for protection against all weather conditions.
P
ANEL CONSTRUCTION
nels shall consist of interior and exterior metal skins precisely
ormed with steel dies and roll-f
ou
ghly checked with gauges for accuracy. The metal skins
orming equipment and thor-
shall be bonded tenaciously and permanently to the insulation. Hi-density panels have incredible flexural strength which eliminates the need for perimeter wood framing (old style construction) still used by some competition. To insure tight joints, all wall panels connect with positive cam-locking mechanisms.

INSULATION
Only solid core approved extruded polystyrene insulation (XPS) shall be used. Minimum thickness shall be four inches which exceeds insulation values (R-values) in Federal Energy Standard H.R.6 effective January 1st, 2009, for walk-in coolers and freezers. Optional five and/or six inch wall thickness available for required applications. Only environmentally friendly expansion agents are to be used in the manufacture of insulated cores. No energy robbing structural wood rails shall be used except where necessary for glass door and/or window attachment.
METAL FINISH
n Standard: Smooth 26 ga. galvanized white n Optional: 22 ga. stainless steel n Optional: Other finishes and gauges available, consult SRC
INSULATED FLOOR
Floor panel construction shall be similar to that described in above Panel Construction section, but with a heavier gauge metal skin. Walking surfaces in open food approved boxes shall be stainless steel or aluminum. Galvanized metal will be used in closed food applications. Insulated floor panels are designed to withstand uniformly distributed stationary floor loads up to 600 lbs. psf. Contact factory for heavier load requirements and when optional metal finishes are required.
PANEL FASTENERS
Panel fasteners will be cam action male and female profile. Panels shall be fastened to adjacent panels by inserting a hex wrench in small-predrilled access ports on the male interior side. A clockwise turn of the wrench will activate a cam lever hook to catch a pin in the adjacent panel mechanism and draw the panels tightly together. Access ports are to be covered by press-fit plug buttons supplied with the panels.
DOOR PANEL ASSEMBLY
Door panel assembly includes UL Listed accessories either installed (whenever possible) or shipped loose. Construction and metal finish will match wall panels. Standard pre-hung entrance door includes the following features: *Two cam-lift selfclosing hinges for smooth operation with built-in hold open feature *Cam-lift hinges allow for non-sweeping closure *Door latch *Inside safety release *Hydraulic door closure *Magnetic gasket *Thermometer. The bottom edge of walk-in door shall have an adjustable and replaceable wiper gasket. The door panel shall also include a UL Listed vapor-proof interior lamp and junction box for 120v/60/1 phase A/C service (15 amp maximum). For freezer application, pressure relief port(s) will be provided. A variety of door options are available for special circumstances. Contact factory for details.
REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS
A complete selection of medium and low temperature systems are available for indoor and outdoor applications. All fractional fan motors supplied shall be of EC (electronically commutated) or PSC (permanent split capacitor) style when available. Contact SRC for proper selections and specifications.
BTU RATINGS
Walk-ins not supplied with refrigeration systems shall be supplied with minimum BTU requirements and shown on all drawings submitted for approval by the factory.
