Remove the Right Shifter’s I-Spec Integration Unit
NOTE: Let’s be honest with ourselves—we’re going to be messing with the
innards of a shifter. Make sure to be working in a clean, open space so you can keep track of everything. If you’ve ever tried to find small replacement parts for these types of components, you know: DON’T LOSE ANYTHING!
NOTE: We demonstrate this installation using a Shimano Saint Shifter (SL-M820-I). While most of the steps are the same, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND you visit Shimano’s website to view the installation instructions and diagram of your shifter: techdocs.shimano.com
1. Start by removing the top bolt of the unit using a 4mm Allen wrench (figures 1–2). Save this bolt; you’re going to need it.
