This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concern­ing safe use of the ap pli an ce, and if they understand the hazards involved.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children un­less they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experi ence and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the ha zards involved. IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Follow basic safety precautions, including:
1 When using your toaster please take note
that it is a stainless steel product and will get hot when used.
2 Always ensure that the voltage on the rating
label corresponds with the mains voltage in your home.
3 Read all instructions carefully before using
any appliance. Incorrect operation and im­proper use can damage the appliance and cause injury to the user.
4 The appliance is intended for house-
hold use only. Commercial use voids the
warranty and the supplier cannot be held responsible for injury or damage caused when using the appliance for any other purpose than intended.
5 Avoid any contact with moving parts.
6 The toaster must only be used by or under
the close supervision of a responsible adult. Use and store it out of reach of children, as after use it will still be hot.
7 Check the power cord and plug regularly
for any damage. If the cord or the plug is
damaged, it must be replaced by a qualied
person in order to avoid electrical hazard.
8 Do not use the appliance if it has been
dropped or damaged in any way. In case of damage, take the unit in for examina­tion and/or repair by an authorised service agent.
9 To reduce the risk of electric shock, do
not immerse or expose any parts, stand, cable, or plug in liquid.
10 Never immerse the unit in water or any
other liquid for cleaning purposes.
11 Remove the plug from the socket by
gripping the plug. Do not pull on the cord to disconnect the appliance from the mains. Always unplug the unit when not in use, before cleaning or when adding or removing parts.
12 The use of accessory attachments that
are not recommended or supplied by the
manufacturer may result in injuries, re
or electric shock.
13 A short cord is provided to reduce the
hazards resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
14 Do not let the cord hang over the edge of
a table or worktop. Ensure that the cord is not in a position where it can be pulled on inadvertently, especially by children.
15 Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces
and do not place on or near a hot glass or electric burner or in a heated oven.
16 Do not use the appliance on a gas or
electric cook top or over or near and
open ame.
17 Use of an extension cord with this appli-
ance is not recommended. However, if it is necessary to use an extension lead, en­sure that the lead is suited to the power consumption of the appliance, this to avoid overheating of the extension cord, appli­ance or plug point. Always ensure that the extension lead is secure.
18 Do not place the extension ead in a
position where it can be pulled on by children, animals, or tripped over.

Operating your toaster
1 Only connect the unit to a properly installed
and earthed power socket.
2 To select preferred toasting level, turn the
selector clockwise form the lightest level 1 to the darkest level 5. If you are not sure, start with a lower level.
3 Insert one slice of bread per slot and lower the
slot with the lever until it snaps into place.
4 The unit starts to toast and switches o
automatically at the end. The toasted bread pops up automatically.
5 Allow the unit to cool down after use or
before you put it away.
6 To use the special functions press the
relevant button after lowering the lever . The corresponding LED signals its activation:
REHEAT : to warm bread already toasted DEFROST : to defrost and toast frozen bread. CANCEL : to stop the toasting procedure
manually.

Cleaning
1 Pull the mains plug out of the mains
before you clean the unit and always allow the unit to cool down.
2 Only use a slightly damp cloth to clean the
outside of the unit.
3 Pull the crumb tray out, remove any bits
of bread and put the tray back in.
Servicing the appliance
There are no user serviceable parts in this appliance. If the unit is not operating correctly, please check the following:
1 Have you followed the instructions
correctly?
2 Is the unit wired correctly and has the
power point been turned on?
3 Is the plug rmly in the mains socket?
If the appliance still does not work after checking the above, consult the retailer for possible repair or replacement.
Wiring instructions - UK plugs only
The product must be earthed. It has a 13A BS1362 fuse in a 13A BS 1363 plug. To replace the fuse, comply with the standard 13A BS1362 for fuse replace­ment. If in doubt, call an electri­cian. Do not open the plug.
Environmental protection
To avoid environmental and health problems due to hazardous substanc­es in electrical and electronic goods, appliances marked with this symbol must not be disposed of with unsort­ed municipal waste, but reco ve red, reused or recycled.
Service
If you ring Customer Service, please have the Model No. to hand, as we won’t be able to help you without it. The product is not user-service­able. If it is not working, read the instructions, check the plug fuse and main fuse/circuit breaker. If it is still not working, consult your retailer. If that does not solve the problem – ring Customer Ser-
vice – they may be able to oer technical advice.
If they advise you to return the product to us, pack it carefully, include a note with your name, address, day phone number, and description of the problem. If under a warranty, say where and when it was purchased and include proof of pur­chase. Send it to SQ Professional Ltd.
