User’s Guide for the DP4802
Media Pen
Built in rechargeable battery
Before using the Media Pen
Plug it into the USB port of a computer and
charge the battery then reformat the Media
Pen using “FAT” DO NOT USE FAT”32”
To safely remove your Media Pen from the
USB port click the icon below.
The battery should be charged for at least 2
hours or until the red “B” light turns off,
your unit will be fully charged and should
last approximately 5 to 6 hours. Depending
on the computer, the red indicator light will
remain on even once fully charged.
Play back can be listened to via the earphones that are included or when connected
to the computer via Windows Media player
or Real Time Player

How to Turn on & off
Press and hold down “A” one light will stay illuminated, To turn
off press down and hold “A” until unit turns off no lights will be
illuminated. This unit is equipped with automatic shut off if no
buttons are pressed after 30 seconds the unit will power down and
shut off. This feature only works when it is not in the record
mode.
How to record Voice:
Toggle the “A” selector button to the left, until the “D” comes on,
press the “A” button down to select the light will flash, device is
recording. Press down on “A” to stop recording
How to play a voice recording:
Toggle the “A” selector button to the left until “C” lights up,
Press the “A” selector button down to begin play back of voice
recording. Press down on “A” to stop.
How To control volume:
In play back mode toggle “A” and hold until desired volume is
reached: up to increase volume and down to decrease volume.
How to select files:
In play back mode toggle “A” quickly up or down to select file.
How to download MP3’s or files to/from the
computer:
Plug the USB connector into the computer, select files on your
computer to be downloaded to the device, right click to “save as”
or “drag and drop” to the drive letter of the device.
To upload files from the device to the computer, Right click on
file and “save as” or “drag and drop” to the desired location on
the computer.
How to play MP3 files:
Toggle the “A” selector button to the left until “E” lights up,
press down on “A” to play the MP3 files, the led will be flashing.
Press down on “A” to Stop
To delete files:
Plug the USB connector into the computer, go to the drive letter
of the device. Right click on file then select delete. *Reformatting
will delete the entire contents of the drive. (see trouble shooting)
If you wish to save files before deleting be sure to save the files
to the desired folder in your computer.

Trouble shooting & *Reformatting the drive:
If the recorder is not functioning properly, plug
into the USB port on the computer right click/
select the drive letter of the device and select
reformat (FAT). See “before using Instructions”
No Response:
If the media pens LED’s are lit and is unresponsive let the battery completely drain and plug
back into USB port and reformat, see “Before
using instructions”
NOTE:
The CD is a USB driver and should be used only
for Windows 98 or below, no driver is needed if
you run Windows XP, Files play back via Windows Media Player or Real Time Player
