TO: All Dana Aftermarket Group Spicer® Universal Joint Customers

Dana Aftermarket Group is pleased to announce the release of the new and improved Spicer®
SPL170-4X universal joint kit. Effective Monday July 18, 2011, this part will supersede the
SPL170-3X.

Significant improvements in the SPL170-4X includes:

 40% larger bearings for improved performance over the life of the u-joint.
 A redesigned bearing seal with a more robust material for optimum performance in all

environments.

 A redesigned seal guard for better retention.

It is important to note that we are maintaining the current SPL170-3X pricing on the new
SPL170-4X, so you can enjoy this enhanced and longer lasting product at no additional charge.

All open orders dated after July 18, 2011 will be superseded to the SPL170-4X.
