Lube Manifold Installation and Assembly Instructions

Model: DS404P, DSP40P, DST40P, DSH40P Family of Drive Axles (all model options that use lube pump)

Shown below are basic assembly instructions for the lube manifold components for the models listed above. Additional assembly and disassembly related procedures are shown in more detail in the associated service publication located on

spicerparts.com.

LUBE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY:

1. Install the manifold assembly into the output side gear bearing bore in the carrier. Make sure the barbed nipple is

lined up with the opening in the carrier casting at about the 5:00 position.

2. Install the hose clamp on the hose, push the hose onto the barbed fitting and slide the clamp over the barbed

nipple.

3. Route the hose through the 2 holes in the carrier casting to the bottom filter mounting hole.

4. Look to see that the hose guide collar lock is installed and not damaged. If damaged or not present replace with

new.

5. Now with the collar lock installed, push the hose through the back side of the collar and install the filter into the

end of the hose.

6. Next, push the filter and hose down into the collar so that the filter is fully seated. Because of the increased

diameter

of the hose after the filter is installed, the hose should fit snugly into the collar.
