Component Repair Procedure
Pneumatic Control Unit - Check Valve Replacement - Kit 218735
The following procedures describe the necessary work required for removal and replacement of the Dana TPCS Pneumatic
control Unit (PCU) check valve assembly. Work can be conducted with pnematic control unit installed in vehicle lf
accessible. If removal of unit is required, follow removal procedures in Dana TPCS Service Manual (AXSM-0010).
1. Remove check valve retainer (5c), spring (5a), and check ball (5b).
2. Install and lube O-ring (5d) provided in kit on new check valve retainer.
3. Install new check ball, spring, and retainer into pneumatic control unit. Put small portion of serviceable threadlock
on threads of retainer and install flush with surface of body.
4. Reinstall pneumatic control unit in vehicle if removed.
5. Conduct system checkout to verify integrity of repairs.
