PHD6 Quick Reference Card
Operation Procedure
Turn on
Turn off
Auto Cal
Press MODE button.
Hold MODE button until display says “release.”
Turn PHD6 on and allow sensors to stabilize. Take
to fresh air. Press MODE 3 times to enter “Auto Cal
Mode.” At prompt press MODE to Auto-Zero. At
next prompt press MODE to begin Auto-Span.
Attach calibration adaptor and fittings. Apply span
gas. Remove fittings when complete. If Auto-Zero
or Auto-Span fails see Reference Manual.

Attach sample draw kit to instrument. Test for
leakage by holding finger over end of probe.
Then squeeze bulb. Bulb should stay deflated
until finger is removed.
Allow one squeeze of bulb for every one foot of
hose for sample to first reach sensors. Continue
to squeeze bulb once per second for 1 additional
minute to complete sampling.
Slip pump onto instrument with tubing and probe
attached. PHD6 will prompt for leak test. Hold
finger over end of probe. Pump should shut down.
Remove finger and press MODE to reset pump.
Pump must be tested prior to use. Allow one
second for each foot of hose plus 1 additional
minute to sample the environment.
