QUICK START GUIDE
Put Glass on
NEXT: CONNECT YOUR GLASS

First, turn Glass on. Press the power button on the inside of Glass.

You'll notice the power LED will turn on and Glass will boot up.

Let's see how it fits. You can adjust the fit of your Glass by modifying its nosepads.
The frame is surprisingly durable. Don't hesitate to bend it to fit your face.

Squeeze the nose stem to position the display above your eye and not in front of it.
Move the display hinge until you can see the whole screen.
Adjust the nosepads so they are flush with your skin.
After you're comfortable with your new Glass, look at the display and you'll notice the URL
google.com/myglass on the screen. Before we move on to the good stuff, we'll need a computer
to connect Glass to the Internet and your Google Account.

QUICK START GUIDE
Pairing Glass to your Bluetooth phone
For a great on-the-go Glass experience, it's essential to pair Glass to your phone or tablet.

You'll need the MyGlass app from the Google Play Store to make full use of Glass's Bluetooth
capabilities

On your Glass
Using Glass, from the home screen, swipe back repeatedly until you see the Settings card.

Tap the Settings card and then swipe forward until you see Bluetooth settin gs. Make sure it
says "Now discoverable" before moving on to the steps below.
On your Android device start video

Touch the menu at the top of the screen and select Glass Devices.

Select your Glass from the list.
Make sure the confirmation code on Glass and your Android device match. Confirm the
Bluetooth pairing on both Glass and your Android device.
Your Glass and phone or tablet are now connected via Bluetooth. You'll be able to handle
phone calls, receive email notifications and SMS messages sent to your phone, and get
directions via Glass. If your mobile data plan supports tethering, Glass will use its Bluetooth
data tethering connection when out of Wi-Fi range.

On your iOS device
To turn on Bluetooth on your iOS device and pair your Glass, follow the steps in Apple Support.

All of the functionality of Glass is available via your iPhone's Bluetooth connection, with the
exception of SMS. Turn -by-turn directions is available by downloading MyGlass from the App
Store.

On other Bluetooth devices
While Glass should work with most Bluetooth-capable phones, for best results, we recommend

using Glass with an Android or iPhone phone.
If Glass has a Bluetooth connection to your phone, but Bluetooth tethering is disabled or

unsupported, you'll be able to make and receive calls, but Internet usage will be disabled
outside of Wi-Fi range.

Connect your Glass

Visit google.com/myglass on your computer.

You'll need to sign in to your Google Account.
You'll be asked to read and accept the Terms of Service and set up a Wifi network for Glass.

Follow the steps on screen and you'll get a QR code. Simply look at the QR code on the screen
and tap the side of your device (the touchpad). This will get Glass set up on your Wifi network
and sign you in to your account.

This friendly screen tells you the time and gives you the magic words "ok glass. " Say them
aloud and see what happens.

Common actions

The flat area on Glass next to your right temple is called the touchpad and you will need it to
navigate around the different cards on your Glass display. Here's how:

Activate the display and select actions by tapping the touchpad.
Navigate around Glass or swipe through menu options by sliding your finger forward or

backward across the touchpad.

Your timeline is where to go to see activity history, content, and other notifications. It helps to
imagine that your ti meline is a row of cards that wraps around your head.

Timeline
Swipe forward on the touchpad and the cards to the right will cycle through your display. This is
a history of the notifications and actions, like pictures or messages, you've seen on Glass.

Tap the touchpad to see actions, such as share or delete, related to that card. If a card has a
folded corner, tap to view and slide through a bundle of related cards.

Swipe backward on the touchpad and you'll move to the left of your timeline. The left hand side
of the Home screen contains timely and location-specific information, like the weather, and
other cards Glass thinks you might be interested in.

You'll also find the Settings card all the way to the left of your timeline. Tap settings and you'll be
able to customize and calibrate your device. For instance, try calibrating the Head Wake Up
feature. This feature will automatically turn off Glass when you take it off, and turn it on when
you put Glass on again. Swipe forward until you see the Head Wake Up card. Tap the card and
select calibrate

Now you should be armed with all the basic knowledge you need to start using Glass.

Setting up Glass
To get up and running quickly with your new Glass, all you need is to sign in to your Google

Account and connect to the Internet.
You’ll need the MyGlass app or a browser on your desktop computer.
On Glass
Put Glass on, making sure it fits and the display is just above your eye. If this is your first time

wearing Glass, follow these fitting tips until you are comfortable.
Turn on Glass using the power button. You'll see the Glass logo as it loads up. Now you'll be

treated to a brief tutorial showing you the basics of how to use Glass. From there, you'll be
asked to connect Glass with your phone.

Enter the Wi-Fi network, wireless encryption method, and password
Click Add Network
Next, you'll see a black and white square QR code in your browser. While wearing Glass, you'll
be asked to point Glass at the QR code. Tap to confirm and then align the square brackets so it
fits the corners of the QR code. Your account and Wi-Fi network information should now be set
up. Next, set up your data connection with your phone.

Getting to know Glass

What you need to get started
Before jumping in, you'll need the following:
Glass

A Google Account with Google+ and Gmail.
A computer with browser (connected to the Internet) or the MyGlass app for Android.

Tethering lets Glass share your phone or tablet's data plan when you're out of range of a Wifi
signal. Depending on your data plan , charges to your account can be incurred and some
carriers charge an additional service fee for tethering. We highly recommend contacting your
service provider for more information before tethering your device.

Listen
All audio comes from an oval speaker on the inside of the battery pod, just behind your ear.

When flush to your head, you'll hear notifications, phone calls, and other sound from your
device.

On / Off
The circular power button is on the inner enclosure close to your temple. Press down firmly to

turn on and off the device. The power LED on the back of the enclosure lights up when Glass is
starting up, charging, or powering down.

The side of Glass is a touchpad. Swipe forward and backward to navigate through your timeline.
Swipe down to go back or return to the Home screen.

Capture
Press the camera button to take a picture. Hold it down to record a video.
See
The plastic cube that enters you into the world of Glass. The display shows you a vast amount

of information from the current time, to your emails, pictures, video clips, search results, and
much more.

What's in the box?
Glass comes with the cables you need to charge your device, as well as a pouch to store Glass

when you're not wearing it. Your box also includ es a backup pair of nosepads and a pair in a
larger size that you can switch out for a better fit.

Turning Glass on and off

Turn Glass on and off by pressing the round power button, located on the inner right side of the
device.

Turn Glass on

To turn Glass on, press the power button for a moment. The white power LED behind the button
will turn on and remain lit while Glass starts up. Once Glass boots, the display turns on, and a
rising chime will sound.

To put Glass in an inactive state, press the power button while Glass is on. The screen will turn
off and you'll hear a tone. An inactive state means Glass is still on, but the touchpad will lock,
Glass will stop receiving phone calls, and will stop playing notification chimes. You can set
Glass to automatically go into an inactive state whenever you take it off by enabling On Head
Detection from the Settings bundle.

Turn Glass off
To turn Glass off, press the power button for a few seconds until a falling chime sounds.
Turn on the display
After a period of inactivity, the display will turn off. Glass is still on and active, but the screen is

off mostly to conserve battery. To turn the display back on, gently tap on the touchpad or tilt
your head up.

Hard reset
If you ever need to fully power Glass down and restart the device: Hold the power button for 15

seconds. Then, press the power button for a few seconds to turn the device back on.

Fitting Glass
Ensuring Glass fits you correctly is key to a comfortable and enjoyable Glass experience.

Here are a couple things to keep in mind when making sure Glass fits you well:
Position the display above your eye and not in front of eye

Use the hinge to swing display forward or backward until you’re able to see everything on the
screen
Adjust the nose pads so they are flush to your skin.
The frame is amazingly durable. It can be bent to fit any face.

Like when wearing new glasses, it may take some getting used to. Just like when you receive
your first pair of prescription glasses, please ease into your use of Glass.

Attention
If you’ve had Lasik surgery, ask your doctor about risks of eye impact damage before using
Glass. Don’t let children under 13 use Glass as it could harm developing vision. Also, kids might
break Glass or hurt themselves, and Google’s terms of service don’t permit those under 13 to
register a Google account. If Glass is not for you and you wish to return it, do so before the end
of the applicable refund period.

Setting up Wi-Fi
You can set up a Wi-Fi connection for Glass through the MyGlass site

Connect to an open network using Glass
If the Wi-Fi network is open, or not secured with a password, you can connect directly to it via

your Glass.
Swipe back on Glass until you see the Settings bundle.

Tap into the Settings bundle > Wi-Fi Settings.
Tap the available network > Join network.
Swipe through available open Wi-Fi networks (if there's more than one) and tap on the Wi-Fi
network you'd like to join.
Connect to a protected Wi-Fi network

ATTENTION
Wi-Fi networks with captive portals
Some public Wi-Fi networks, like those in some airports and cafes, require an extra
authentication step via a website before connecting to their network. Glass is not capable of
properly displaying these websites at this time and does not currently support connection to
these networks, or captive portals.

From MyGlass for ANDROID
Connecting to a Wi-Fi network is easiest with the MyGlass app. MyGlass will automatically add
networks to your Glass that are already set up on your device.

To add a net work connection, make sure you've connected Glass to your account through
Setup.

From the MyGlass app:
Select Wi-Fi from the the MyGlass menu.

Select your wireless network from the list of nearby detected networks.
Enter your wireless network password and press OK.
Please note that these both Wi-Fi name and password fields are case-sensitive.

From MyGlass for iOS

Connecting to a Wi-Fi network is easiest with the MyGlass for iOS app. MyGlass will
automatically enter the name of the network your phone is connected to. If you're not connected
to a network, you'll have to enter the name manually.

Make sure you've connected Glass to your account throu gh Setup first. Setup may have already
taken you through these steps. To add a new or different network connection, launch the
MyGlass app.

Tap Add Wi-Fi Network from the the device info screen.
Select your wireless network from the list of nearby detecte d networks.
Enter your wireless network password and press OK.
Please note that these both Wi-Fi name and password fields are case-sensitive.

From MYGlass website

To set up your wireless network, you'll need the name of your network and your Wi-Fi
password. If you don't have it on-hand, please consult your system administrator or whoever set
up your network.

Click the My Wi-Fi networks card.
Type in your wireless network name and password. Please note that these fields are case­sensitive.
Click Generate code.
Hidden networks

Those with hidden networks can set up their networks on Glass by selecting Specify your
encryption type from the Wi-Fi networks card.

Click the My Wi-Fi networks card.
Click Specify your encryption type from the bottom of the card.

Type in your wireless network name and password. Please note that these fields are case­sensitive.
Select the appropriate encryption from the drop-down menu and click Generate code.
Scan the QR code with Glass

You should see a QR code for use with your Glass. Next, use your Glass to follow the steps
below.

Swipe back until you see the Settings bundle.
Tap into the Settings bundle. The first card in the bundle should be the Wi-Fi Settings card.
Tap the Wi-Fi Settings card and select Join network.
Swipe forward past available open networks (if any) and tap on the Add Wi-Fi network card.
Now pull up the previously generated QR code, and align the box on your Glass display with the
QR code on the MyGlass site.

Tips for scanning the QR code
Some lighting conditions may make it more difficult to scan the QR code from various distances.

For best results.
Make sure you are in a well lit area. The Glass camera may get interference in areas that are

dimly lit.
Try to keep Glass and the QR code steady. Too much movement may cause motion blur.
Don't get too close the the QR code. About a foot or so in front of your face should do it.
Glass will automatically chime when it accepts your QR code. You should now be connected to
your Wi-Fi network.

--------------------­Creating a portable Hotspot
Another option for getting data on-the-go is a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. Depending on your service
provider's plan, you can set up a portable Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone and have Glass use it for
its data connection.

Setting up a hotspot bypasses the need to pair your device by Bluetooth and instead sets up a
Wi-Fi network using your phone or tablet.

Open Settings.
Under Wireless & Networks, select More > Tethering & portable hotspot.
Configure or turn on your phone's portable hotspot. (Bluetooth tethering can also be turned on
or off here.)

Glass works best when it is connected to the internet. When out of range of Wi-Fi, you can let

SMS
Sending a message by SMS is not currently available for iOS devices. Instead, use your iOS
data connection to send messages via Gmail or Hangouts Glassware.

Connecting to your p ersonal hotspot via Wi-Fi is not currently supported. For best results, share

your iOS device's data connection over your Bluetooth connection.

Phone calls
If you've paired your mobile phone to Glass, Glass acts as a Bluetooth headset for your phone
and you'll be able to place and receive phone calls through Glass.

Making calls
You can place a call by voice action to contacts you've set up in Glass.

For example, "ok glass, make a call to Tiffany Chen" will call Tiffany. Make sure the contacts
you've set up for Glass have phone numbers in their contact information.

Receiving calls
When a call arrives, your screen will turn on and display the phone number that is calling. Tap

your Glass touchpad to accept the call. Tap the touchpad again when your call is over to end
the call.

Incoming calls
A rising and falling chime indicates someone is calling you. Screen the phone number by

glancing at the display. To answer the phone, tap the touchpad and select Accept. To reject a
call, swipe down on the touchpad or tap the touchpad, swipe forward and select Decline.

Ending calls
To hang up, simply tap the touchpad and select Hang up. Alternatively, you can end the phone

call from your mobile phone.

Send and receive email messages

Messaging
Send messages to your contacts hands -free by saying "ok glass, send a message to..." The

voice action will bring up a list of the contacts you set up on the MyGlass site or Android app.
Say the name of the recipient or select their name from the list using the touchpad, then speak
your message.

Sending a message
Your spoken message is transcribed into text and a preview of your message will appear in the

display. Glass will wait until you've finished speaking to send your message, or you can send it
yourself by tapping the touchpad. To cancel the message, swipe down on the touchpad in the
few seconds after you've finished speaking but before the message is sent.

When your message is sent, you will see "Sent" in the display. You can swipe over to your
history on your timeline to see the transcription of your sent message. When your recipient
receives a message from you, they'll also see "Sent through Glass" appended to the end of the
message.

SMS
To send or receive a message via SMS, you'll need an Android phone with Bluet ooth, a data

connection, and the MyGlass app.

Depending on what information you have for a particular contact, an email or SMS will be sent
when using the "ok glass, send a message to..." voice action. If you have a phone number in the
contact information of your recipient, Glass will automatically send an SMS.

If you're using Google Voice, the SM S will be sent from your Google Voice number. Otherwise,
outbound SMS messages will be sent from the native SMS app on your phone.

To receive SMS messages on Glass, make sure your MyGlass app indicates Glass is
connected by going to MyGlass menu from the action bar and selecting the Devices menu
option.

Email
If your contact only has an email address and no phone number, or if Glass isn't paired with the

MyGlass Android app, messages sent via voice action will be sent through email.
To receive email messages on Glass, turn on Gmail Glassware from the MyGlass site or

Android app.

MyGlass features
Directions

things wherever you are.

SMS
Once you are paired to the MyGlass app, you to send and receive SMS through Glass.
Screencast
Start a screencast and let others see what you see through Glass via the display on your

Android phone or tablet. You can even control Glass from a screencast. Swipe on your screen
like you would your touchpad to use your phone as a remote control.

To start a screencast, open the menu from the action bar and select Screencast. If your device
is already connected (via the Devices menu), a screencast will begin immediately. Otherwise,
you'll see a QR code on your Android device. Take a picture of it with your Glass and you'll
automatically start screencasting.

Your Android phone will then show a live view of what you're seeing on Glass, and the MyGlass
notification in the notification bar will update to reflect the active screencast.

To end a screencast, touch the MyGlass notification in the notification bar to return to the
MyGlass app or press your Android's back or home button to exit.

Tethering
If you've enabled tethering to connect Glass to the Internet, the MyGlass app will attempt to

make sure that tethering is always turned on, even if you restart your phone.

The MyGlass app is compatible with Google Voice app for Android.

Head Wake Up

Display on: Head Wake allows you to activate Glass and turn on the display by tilting your head

Cards and bundles

It helps to imagine that the Glass interface as a row of cards that wraps around your head.
Cards can contain activity history, content, and other notifications. Using your finger to swipe
the touchpad, you can move forward and backward through your cards. To swipe through your
cards, start at the Home screen.

Notifications

Glass keeps you connected by adding notifications to your timeline. For example, messaging
and Glassware you’ve enabled on the MyGlass site will update your timeline with any recent
activity.

Notifications work like this:
You will hear an audible chime when a notification arrives.

View the notification by tapping the touchpad or using Head Wake.
Depending on the notification card, you can tap the touchpad to view the card actions.
You have five seconds after the notification chime to instantly view the notification. If you miss
your chance or get more notifications, don’t worry! You can always swipe back to your timeline
to find all your recent notifications in the order in which they arrive.

When it's time to charge Glass' battery, you'll see an empty battery icon on the display. Plug the
charger into the wall and then plug in the micro USB cord included with your Glass to recharge

The Power LED
While Glass is charging, the LED on the curved back of the device, near the power button, will

Battery Charged indicates that your Glass is fully charged.

Glass Settings
The charger

The connectors of the cable and charger are two-tone so you always know which way to plug in
the USB. On Glass itself, the cable is at a right angle facing backward (the white half of the
connector facing out) so that the base of the connector can be used to stabilize Glass on a flat
surface while charging.

You can use the included USB cord to charge Glass, but you'll get more power directly from a
working wall outlet. Use the included charger to charge Glass fastest.

ATTENZIONE Hard power down
While Glass is plugged in, pressing and holding the power button for 15 seconds triggers a hard
power down; the LED light goes off and Glass isn't charging. Glass will not charge when hard

Charge Glass overnight

While charging and within range of a Wifi network, Glass will automatically update to the latest
software and sync any pictures and videos to your Google+ Auto Backup. It's good practice to
charge every night to make sure Glass is always up-to-date and your photos are there waiting
for you in your Google+ albums when you wake up.

Powering Glass after a long period of disuse
If you've not charged Glass for a couple of days/weeks, you may find that it will take longer to

charge Glass. In this state, it's normal to not see the empty battery icon appear on the display or
that Glass will not turn on when you press the power button. Grab a cup of coffee and return in
a bit and Glass will turn on normally.

If you don't see chargers in the Glass store, don't panic. Check back again in a few days.

Hear that? Sound from Glass comes from the Bone Conduction Transducer (BCT), a.k.a. the
speaker, found on the inside of the device just before the battery. It's the oval piece with the
Glass logo printed on it that rests just behind your ear.

You can tell Glass to do lots of things like a Google search, take a picture, record a video, get
directions, send a message, and make a call. All you have to do is say the magic words "ok
glass" and then say your voice action aloud.

Glass must be activated and your display must be on in order to start a voice action. To get
Glass to wake up and listen, tap the touchpad once or lift your head to the Head Wake angle (if
you have Head Wake Up on).

your head up or down or swiping forward and back.

You can also double tap the touchpad while on your Home screen to open the voice action list

Pictures and videos on Glass lets you capture specific images and videos right in the moment

and virtually hands-free.

Pictures
Use Glass's camera to take crystal clear high resolution pictures in low or bright light.
Glass is equipped with a 5 MP camera and some software improvements, like HDR, to detect

low light situations and automatically capture a brighter, sharper picture. Best of all, this

software works even in tough situations where there are moving subjects.

There are two ways to capture a picture:
From the Home screen, say "ok glass, take a picture."

Press the camera button above your right eye to capture a picture.
After snapping a picture, you'll see a brief preview of the shot you’ve just taken before it is
saved to your timeline. Tap the touchpad while the preview is on-screen, or say "ok glass, share
with...", to share the picture with one of your contacts or Google+ circles.

View your pictures
To view the picture in your timeline, swipe forward on the touchpad from the Home screen.

Glass will make a collage out of pictures, videos, and vignettes taken during a day and bundle
them together. Tap into the bundle to browse and then on a picture to share or delete the
picture from your timeline. You can also find the picture in your Auto Backup album on Google+
once Glass has a chance to sync your pictures.

Syncing on Google+
Glass will sync all of your pictures and videos automatically to your Auto Backup album when

you plug it into a charger while it is within Wifi range. You can force a picture or video to sync by
sharing it manually.

You can also import the pictures and videos you captured with Glass by connecting it to your
computer with the USB cable. It will connect as a media device, similar to a USB drive or
camera.

Make a vignette
Vignettes superimpose a screenshot of your Glass display over a picture. You can share these

around to show what you're doing on Glass while you're taking a picture. It's a sweet little
snapshot of your experience on Glass.

To take a vignette:
Use Glass normally and prepare the Glass display for a screenshot.

When you've lined up what you want on your display, press Glass's camera button.

You'll also have the ability to share a vignette and attach a comment on Google+ after the

Videos

Capturing video clips with Glass works similarly to taking a picture:
Press and hold the camera button above your right eye for one second.

From the Home screen, say "ok glass, record a video."
While recording, you'll see what is being recorded by Glass in your display as well as a time
counter for your video recording.

Extend a recording
Glass defaults to recording video clips of ten seconds. To continue recording past the default

limit, do either of the following while the video is in progress:
Press the camera button.

Tap the touchpad and then Extend video.
You'll know it works when the progress bar along the bottom of the display disappears. The
video will then continue until it's stopped or you run out of storage or battery.

Stop a recording
To stop recording your video, tap the touchpad and swipe through the card actions to select

Stop recording. If you extended your recording, the camera button can then be used to stop the
recording.

View your recording
To view the video in your timeline, swipe forward on the touchpad from the Home screen. Glass
will make a collage out of pictures, videos, and vignettes taken during a day and bundle them
together. Tap into the bundle to browse and then on a video to play the video. Alternatively,
swipe forward to share or delete the video from your timeline. You can also find the video in
your Auto Backup

Glass will sync all of your pictures and videos automatically to your Auto Backup album when

Make vignette

Vignettes superimpose a screenshot of your Glass display over a picture. You can share these
around to show what you're doing on Glass while you're taking a picture. It's a sweet little
snapshot of your experience on Glass.

To make a vignette:
Make sure the screenshot you want is active in your Glass display.

When you've lined up what you want on your display, press Glass's camera button.
Tap the touchpad and select make vignette.
To see the make vignette action, you'll need to have taken a picture via the camera button while
your intended screenshot was active in your display. For this reason, the make vignette option
is not available when taking a picture using voice actions or menu actions.
Share a vignette and attach a comment on Google+ after the picture is saved. Find your

For those times you might miss a shot, try capturing the moment with a wink. The Wink feature
is an exploratory feature that lets you take a picture with a wink. It's even faster than the camera

You'll be asked to wink twice to calibrate Wink. For consistency, it helps to look at the screen
when winking.

Etiquette
Use your best judgment when using Wink. Be careful who you're winking at and be conscious of

your surroundings when you do it. You don't want to give off the wrong impression. ;-)
How it works
Right next to the display is a tiny light sensor that watches your eyelid move. It's used for on-

head and wink detection. If the sensor is obstructed or aimed incorrectly, these features will not
work.

In case you're wondering, this light sensor is completely safe. The light it emits is no more
dangerous than natural light.

Troubleshooting Wink
ATTENTION Wink on older devices

Wink only works on the latest version of Glass devices. Devices received before October 28th,
2013 won't show the Wink feature in the Settings bundle. If you want to take part in Wink and
other future features and accessories, sign up for our limited-time swap out offer.
Wink doesn't work on everyone yet, but here are some things to try if Wink isn't working
properly.

Look at the display
For best results, look at or through the screen when you wink. This may involve tilting your head
up or down slightly to be able to see through the display.

Time your winks
Make a calculated and deliberate wink. The wink sensor may not pick up a fast wink. For best
results, make a mental effort to scrunch the corner your eye and try to time your wink to a half
second.

Fit Glass correctly
Glass's fit can sometimes position the camera differently, depending on your unique facial
features. The wink sensor needs to be properly aligned in order to work correctly. In most cases
this means having Glass just above your field of vision, and adjusting the display so that you

Don't worry about lighti ng
It doesn't matter what time of day when you use Wink, but sometimes Wink will need to be
recalibrated if you're squinting in full sun or, conversely, if you're eyes are at rest in the dark. If
you can't get wink to work in a certain environmental condit ion, try recalibrating on the spot.

Remove eye makeup
Some eye makeup might throw off the Wink sensor. To fix, recalibrate Wink after you've applied
your makeup.

Remove Shades or Shields
If you calibrated Glass with Shades or Shields installed, try taking them off and trying again. If

you don't think you'll need Shades or Shields for a while, recalibrate without them.
If you're still having issues with Wink

Recalibrating Wink will solve most issues, but we're aware that Wink won't work with every face.
If you're not satisfied with Wink's performance, turn it off from the Wink card

Is Glass indestructible?
No. Glass is robust, stable and built to ?t into your life. But you might break it if you don't handle
it with care. Protect your Glass by using the pouch we've provided, or another carrying case that
you trust to keep Glass safe, dry, and awesome.

Is Glass useful everywhere?
Like everything, there is a time and a place.
Glass is designed for micro-interactions, not for staring into the screen, watching Friday night
movie marathons or reading "War and Peace." It might be harder to hear Glass or use voice
input commands in noisy areas, and it might be harder to see the Glass screen in bright
sunlight. Also, you may be in certain places like a doctor's o?ce where those around you don't
feel comfortable being photographed or captured on video. Always consider your surroundings ­just like you would with a cell phone. Above all, be considerate.

Can I use Glass while driving or bicycling?
It depends on where you are and how you use it.
As you probably know, most states have passed laws limiting the use of mobile devices while
driving any motor vehicle, and most states post those rules on their department of motor
vehicles websites. Read up and follow the law! Above all, even when you're following the law,
don't hurt yourself or others by failing to pay attention to the road. The same goes for bicycling:
whether or not any laws limit your use of Glass, always be careful.

Can everyone use Glass?
Glass isn't for everyone.
Like when wearing glasses, some people may feel eye strain or get a headache. If you've had
Lasik surgery, ask your doctor about risks of eye impact damage before using Glass. Don't let
children under 13 use Glass as it could harm developing vision. Also, kids might break Glass or
hurt themselves, and Google's terms of service don't permit those under 13 to register a Google
account. If Glass is not for you and you wish to return it, do so before the end of the applicable
refund period.

Can I use Glass while operating a jackhammer?
Use caution.
Glass can't protect your eyes from ?ying debris, balls, sharp objects, or chemical explosions.
Using Glass while operating heavy or inherently dangerous equipment, or engaging in physical
sports, could distract you, cause Glass to impact your eye, and lead you to harm yourself or
others. So play your one-on-one Glass free.

Is it OK to go scuba diving with Glass?
Uhhh... no.

Don't let the Glass device or battery come in contact with liquids. Liquids can get into the
electronic components, leading to corrosion.
