The optional Spectra Fresh Water Flush module for the Newport Deluxe series watermaker
comes complete with all the necessary components to install in your Newport Deluxe system.
Please take a moment to confirm that all necessary plumbing fittings are included in the packag-
ing. If you need any additional parts please contact your local dealer.
FRESH WATER FLUSH MODULE
NEWPORT MK II DELUXE
Mount the charcoal filter using the supplied mounting bracket.
This unit should be installed as near to the Feed Pump Module as
possible, mounted vertically, and in an area where it can be ac-
cessed regularly.
Incoming flush wa-
ter must be supplied
from a pressurized
domestic cold water
supply capable of
producing at least
1.5gpm at 25psi.
Using the supplied plumbing fittings tee, connect the
outlet from the charcoal filter housing to the Inlet side of
the Newport Deluxe Feed Pump. FOR PROPER OP-
ERATION INSTALL ON THE INLET SIDE OF THE FEED PUMP

FITTING ARRANGEMENT
Use only Spectra Watermakers supplied charcoal filters part number FT-FTC-CC or serious damage to the system may oc­cur.
Change filters every 6 months or damage may occur.

Install the supplied 1/4” NPT x 1/2” Hose Elbow fitting into the Gauge Tee installed on the inlet of the Feed Pump.
If the optional Re­mote Gauge Panel is not being used, install the supplied 1/2” NPT Plug in one port of the sup­plied 1/2” Tee
Use the supplied 1/2” hose to connect the outlet of the Charcoal Filter Housing to the 1/2” Tee
Use the supplied 1/2” hose to connect the 1/2” Tee to the Elbow fitting installed on the Feed Pump Inlet
If the remote gauge panel is being installed, follow the instructions included with that kit for installation tips
Connect the pressure regu­lator to the pressurized do­mestic water supply

After installation it is important to confirm that the pressure regulator on the inlet to the char­coal filter is set properly.
Lead the outlet hose from the charcoal filter to a bucket of a known volume.
Open the gray flush valve to allow water to pass through the filter.
Using a stopwatch, time how long it takes to fill the bucket.
The regulator should be set so that it allows 1.5 gpm (5.7 lpm) through. Adjust the regulator by tightening or loosening the flathead screw on the regulator.
Follow the instructions in the system User Manual for proper operation once the flow rate has been set properly.
