1 Introduction

The base station is only intended for use with a wireless server. The base station must be connected to a LAN or Ethernet Network. designed with two internal antennas and supports antenna diversity. The base station is also able to carry out a handover between the RF channels under the same base station, and handles 11 speech channels simultaneously. The base station is able to frame synchronize with other base stations under the same wireless server.
Transmission lenght is up to 100 meters/329 feet, according to IEEE 802.3u, on a twisted pair (in one building), e.g. cat.5e, between the base station and wireless server. The base station is also power sup­plied from this connection (maximum power supply consumption 3.0 W according to PoE 802.3af). The

2 Installation

First you have to determine where to install the base station to have the right coverage. The average cov­erage within buildings is 75 meters/246 feet, under normal conditions 50 meters/164 feet. The cover­age depends on the construction of the building, architecture and choice of buildings materials. You may have to use the Deployment Kit to optimize your installation.
The base station is to be mounted vertically on the wall.
To mount the base station on the wall: 1 Mount the base station onto the wall using the
anchors and screws accompanying the product.
Note: When you place the base station on the screws, ensure that the screws do not touch the printed circuit board.
2 Connect the RJ45 plug to the ethernet connec-
tor at the bottom of the base station.

3 Configuration

Configure the base station for your VoIP Network.

1 Connect the base station to a PoE power source
either using a standard PoE adapter or using a PoE-enabled port on a switch.
2 The base station is pre-configured with the IP
address: 192.168.0.1. Connect a PC to the base station either using a standard patch cable, or a cross-over patch cable, or through a network with identical net mask, e.g. the IP address:
192.168.0.2 and Sub-net mask: 255.255.255.0.
3 The system is now ready to be reached with a
standard web browser. Log in using: Default user name: admin Default password: ip6000
4 Change the IP address to fit your VoIP Net-
work.

5 Change user name and password.

Connect base station to a Wireless Server 6000

1 Configure the base station to connect to the
Wireless Server 6000 on your VoIP Network. This is done in Configuration menu (web based Administration Page).

7 Do not overload wall outlets and extension
cords as this can result in fire or electrical shock.
8 Never push objects of any kind into this prod-
uct through cabinet slots as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in fire, electrical shock, or injury. Never spill liquid of any kind into this product.
