RFPWR Operating Instructions
SDI
The RFPWR is a hand-held RF Power Meter, that can be used to measure power from
–25 dBm to + 25 dBm in a frequency range from 1MHz to 2GHz. The RFPWR can
provide absolute power measurements as well as relative power measurements. All
functions are controlled with a multifunctional button, labeled ON/OFF.
To turn on the RFPWR, press the ON/OFF button once. The unit will turn on and start
an absolute power measurement (displays: RF POWER). Pressing the button again will
have the RFPWR display different options to be selected: OFF, REL MEASUREMENT,
HOLD. In order to select any of these options, press the button while the desired
function appears on the display.
Selecting the REL MEASUREMENT option allows the measurement of power relative to
a measured reference level. To measure the reference level connect the RFPWR and
press the button when ready. (displays: MEASURE REF). After the reference level is
measured the RFPWR will display the relative power measurements. Another button
press exits the REL MEASUREMENT mode.
Selecting the HOLD function stores the power level reading at the next button press. To
return to normal operation press the button again.
The RFPWR can be calibrated using a potentiometer accessible with a small
screwdriver from the back of the RFPWR. To calibrate the RFPWR connect it to a 0
dBm source (within the frequency range of operation) and adjust the potentiometer until
the value displayed is also 0 dBm.To turn off RFPWR simply press the button for about
3 seconds.
