Q: What heating system has been incorporated in the R2 steamer?
A: The construction of the R2 employs immersion rods that heat water to boiling point so that steam is generated providing it with a rapid warm-up from a cold start.
Q: What is the process for cleaning the R2 steamer?
A: The R2 requires a thorough cleaning on a daily basis. Remove the pan supports and cover for the well, wash them with warm water and a non-abrasive powder and then thoroughly rinse them. Also, check and clean the floats and wipe the outer casing with a damp cloth.
Q: What are the R2 Water quality Specifications?
A: The water should have a pressure not lower than 30 PSI and not exceed 60 PSI , 60 PPM max. TDS, hardness of 2 grains (35 PPM) and pH factors between 7.0 to 7.5.
Q: Is it possible to use the R2 steamer with a hot water connection?
A: No, it is against the manufacturer’s recommendations to use a hot water hose direct to the steamer as this may cause electrical damage to the unit.
