Water / Moisture

The apparatus should be protected from moisture and rain and can not be used near
water; for example near a bathtub, a kitchen sink, a swimming pool, etc.

Heat

The apparatus should be located away from heat sources such as radiators, stoves or
other appliances that produce heat.

Ventilation

Do not block areas of ventilation opening. Failure to do could result in re. Always

install according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Object and Liquid Entry

Objects do not fall into and liquids are not spilled into the inside of the apparatus for
safety.

Power Cord and Plug

Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, conve­nience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. Do not defeat
the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two
poles; a grounding-type plug has two poles and a third grounding terminal. The third

prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not t into your outlet, refer

to an electrician for replacement.

Power Supply

In case of external power supply, the apparatus should be connected to the power sup­ply only of the type as marked on the apparatus or described in the manual. Failure to
do could result in damage to the product and possibly the user. Unplug this apparatus
during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

Fuse

To prevent the risk of re and damaging the unit, please use only of the recommend­ed fuse type as described in the manual. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the unit

turned o and disconnected from the AC outlet.

Electrical Connection

Improper electrical wiring may invalidate the product warranty.

Cleaning

Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not use any solvents such as benzene or alcohol.

Servicing

Do not implement any servicing other than those means described in the manual. Refer

all servicing to qualied service personnel only. Only use accessories/attachments or

parts recommended by the manufacturer.

Warning

Please remember the high sound pressure do not only temporarily damage your sense
of hearing, but can also cause permanent damage. Be careful to select a suitable vol­ume.

Interference from cell phone

Using a cell phone near the wireless system can induce noise. If this occurs, move the
cell phone further away from the components of the wireless system.

3. OVERVIEW

SOUNDSATION WF-D290 adopts a brand-new digital transmission technology and

hardware encryption of audio data that enable superior audio quality (compared to
analog UHF systems), very-low latency (better than 2.4GHz systems) and maximum
security due to the cryptographic hardware.

The unique 16bit digital ID pilot technology avoids interferences even on same fre­quency, and allows continuous exchange of data between transmitters and receiver,
such as battery level, transmission power, squelch operation, etc.

The system is equipped with automatic frequency scanning and frequency spectrum
display, which allow the user to select the less disturbed frequencies in every environ­ment it operates. It features 90 frequencies for each transmitter, divided into 10 groups,
each of which contains 9 channels.

The user interface is very simple and intuitive, thanks to the TFT color display on
the receiver and the simplicity of its setup menus. The handheld transmitter and the
bodypack (in case of WF-D290HP), however, are equipped with LCD display with

auto-o function, to save battery. The handheld microphone is also equipped with

rechargeable lithium battery that can be recharged via the USB port on the back of the
receiver.

Finally, there are two optional kit for rack mounting of 1 or 2 receivers, respectively, on
1 or 2 standard 19” rack units. Ask your dealer or visit SOUNDSATION website www.

1. Power Switch: It switches on and o the receiver. Please notice that LOCK status

is active at power on. Hold button for a few seconds to unlock the receiver and
access to the parameters (refer to the section “8. SYSTEM INSTALLATION” at page
14 for details).

3. IR Button A: Press it to synchronize the operating channel between receiver and A
transmitter.

4. Unlock Button A: It locks/unlocks the A-system, in order to avoid accidental setup
parameters changes.

5. TFT Color Display A: It shows all A-system functions and allows easy and intuitive
programming of all parameters.

6. IR Sensor: It is the infrared sensor used to synchronize the operating channel
between receiver and both A and B transmitter.

7. TFT Color Display B: It shows all B-system functions and allows easy and intuitive
programming of all parameters.

8. IR Button B: Press it to synchronize the operating channel between receiver and B
transmitter.

9. Unlock Button B: It locks/unlocks the B-system.

10. Setup Knob/Button B: It access to all editing functions of B-system. (See section

“8. SYSTEM INSTALLATION” at page 14 for further details).

11. Antenna-A: It receives RF signals from transmitters.

12. Antenna-B: Same as Antenna-A, it receives RF signals from transmitters.

13. Mix Output: It is the unbalanced line output of both A and B systems with ¼”

Jack, to be connected to mixers or audio equipment with unbalanced connections.

14. Balance Output B: It is the balanced XLR audio line output of system A to be con­nected to your mixer or audio system. For more details about the internal wiring of
balanced cables, refer to paragraph “9. AUDIO CABLES” at page 18.

15. Balance Output A: Same as balance output B, but for system A.

16. DC Input: Connect here the external power supply (12Vdc – 1A)

17. USB Charge Outlet: Use this port to charge the hand-transmitter rechargeable

battery by connecting the USB charge cable to the USB-mini connector on trans­mitter bottom.

5.1. Receiver Display

HI / LO

RF indicates signal intensity. AF indicates audio level. The longer the
bar is, the stronger the signal is.

GR indicates current frequency group. CH indicates current fre­quency of the selected group.

SCAN automatically scans up or down to search for available fre­quency until the desired frequency is reached. It can be set under
SCAN function.

TX PWR shows only one icon: “HI” or “LO”. It indicates high or low
transmitter power.

LOCK indicates that all buttons don’t operate under this status.
HI means high power. LO means low power.
MUTE indicates that the receiver is under MUTE status (sound o).

IR: when ashing, indicates that the receiver is sending a SYNC

signal.
Battery icon: indicates the handheld/bodypack microphone battery

status.

6. HANDHELD MICROPHONE FUNCTIONS

WF-D290 systems feature one or two handheld transmitters with professional dynamic
cardioid capsule. Below there’s a quick description of main parts.

3. IR Sensor: During IR synchronization procedure, bring this part of the transmitter
close to the receiver’s IR sensor to complete the operation.

4. Power button: Press and hold this button for about 2 seconds to turn on or o

the microphone.

5. Battery Slot: Insert the 3.7V - 1200mAh lithium rechargeable battery supplied
with the system, paying attention to correct polarity (indicated on bottom of this
battery compartment).

6. Battery Slot Cover: Remove this cover to access the battery-compartment and
insert or replace the batteries.

6.2. Battery placement

f Under working status, long press ON/OFF button until see OFF,

then the microphone is o.

f Remove the battery cover, insert 1x18500 Lithium battery in cor-

rect polarity.

f Long press ON/OFF button in 2 seconds. If LCD doesn’t light, check whether battery

in correct polarity or battery is low of power. If the battery indicator of LCD display is

ashing, please change with new battery.

NOTE: The microphone can only work under same frequency with Receiver. It

automatically enters the default mode when switched on, and automatically
save last used channels.

6.3. Hand-held Microphone Using Technique

ATTENTION: Operating distance between microphone grill and mouth must

be less than 15cm

f Avoid direct the microphone toward a speaker to avoid Larsen eect, which could

damage your audio system.

7. POCKET TRANSMITTER AND HEADSET

1. Microphone: WF-D290HP system features a headset microphone with profession­al cardioid condenser capsule.

2. Microphone Input: Plug here the headset audio connector.

3. Volume: Adjust the audio input level of the transmitter. Use this knob to adapt

microphone signal level in order to prevent distorted sound.

4. ON/MUTE/OFF Selector: This selector has 3 positions. When it’s all to the OFF

position, the microphone is turned o; when it is MUTE position, the microphone
is active but the audio is disabled; nally, when it’s all to ON position, the micro-

phone is working and the audio is active.

NOTE: Standby central position allows the unit to transmit without audio.

This option is important to pre­vent interference in the receiver
due to the absence of a radio
transmitting signal. It is, therefore,
suggested to ALWAYS use this
standby position when you tem­porarily don’t sing or play but the
wireless microphone is connected
to an audio system (e.g. during a
pause in a show). You can move
the switch to OFF position (all
down) only when you are sure that
the sound system volume is low.

5. Power LED: It lights up when the

transmitter is on.

6. Antenna: It transmits the radio sig­nal. Be careful not to bend or break
this terminal.

7. LCD Display: The back-lit display shows all important information relating to set­tings, as well as battery charge level.

NOTE: After about 10 seconds the back-light is lowered, reducing battery

consumption. The lighting returns to increase each time you press the Power
button.

8. IR Sensor: During IR sync procedure, bring this part of the transmitter close to the

receiver’s IR sensor to complete the operation.

9. Battery Slot: Insert two 1.5V AA-Type batteries, paying attention to correct polar­ity (indicated on bottom of this battery compartment). After that, pull the switch
to “ON” side, if LCD not light, check whether battery in correct polarity or is low of

power. If the battery indicator of LCD is ashing, please change with new batteries.

10. Battery Slot Cover: Open this cover to access to insert or replace the batteries.
Following the instructions for their replacement:

f Apply a slight pressure at the top of the door (10) and pull down.
f Insert or replace the batteries in the compartment, observing the +/- polarity marked

on the bottom.

f Close the cover to prevent batteries to be lost during use.

8. SYSTEM INSTALLATION

8.1. Receiver Placement

Before using the system, please be
sure that the receiver is correct­ly placed at a distance of about

1m from oor, and 1m from walls

or other big physical obstacles
(columns or other radio-frequency
equipment).

Beyond 1m

from ground

f Pull out the two antennas (11)

and (12), make them to be per­pendicular with the receiver.

f Connect the supplied power

adapter to the DC power supply
socket (16). Make sure that the adapter is suitable before using the Receiver.

f Connect the two balanced audio outputs (14 - 15) or the mixed out (13) to your

mixer or sound system, using the appropriate cables (see section “9. AUDIO CABLES”
at page 18 for further details).

f Connect the USB charge cable (attached) to the USB socket (17) while the other side

connect to the handheld microphone. Charge battery until the display shows “FULL”,
meaning that the battery is successfully charged.

NOTE: Rechargeable function is available only on handheld microphones.

Also notice that battery is charged even though the system in switched o

but connected to mains.

Beyond 1m

from walls

f Turn on the receiver by pressing the POWER button (1); the two LCD displays (5 - 7)

will light up showing the current settings of the two systems.
Please notice that when you switch on the receiver LOCK function is active on both
systems. Hold for two seconds buttons (4 and 9) to unlock them and have access

to all parameters. In addition to the active LOCK function, at power on the receiver is
even muted ( icon is on) until you turn on the transmitter and align it on the same

receiver’s channel.

8.2. Group/Channel Manual Setting

After unlocking the receiver, the icon will turn on, indicating that you can select one
of the 10 groups and one of the 9 frequencies in each group.

f Once you have located an interference-free channel (see “13. FREQUENCY TABLE”

at page 22 for details), rotate SETUP knob, and press it to enter into the channel

setting mode while GR/CH is highlighted.

f Then rotate the control knob to select the appropriate menu item (GR or CH) and

press the knob to conrm.

f Select the appropriate group and channel by increasing or decreasing and, after

nished, press the control knob to conrm.

f Finally press IR function to sync the receiver with the handheld transmitter or

bodypack.

NOTE: If during group/channel selection you do not press any button for

about 10 seconds, the system automatically returns to the LOCK mode. It is
therefore necessary to unlock the receiver again to re-access group/channel
setup mode.

8.3. Auto Scan Mode

SOUNDSATION WF-D290 is equipped with a useful auto scan function of the frequen­cies. This allows you to always choose those channels with less problems and make
setting operations extremely quick.

f To automatically perform a frequency scan, unlock - if not already done - the receiver

by holding for a few seconds button.

f Then press SETUP knob and rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise until SCAN menu

is reached.

f Press SETUP knob again to enter SCAN menu. You ll nd two options: UP or DOWN.

The rst performs a spectrum scan and returns the rst free frequency above the

current one. The second scans the spectrum but returns the rst free frequency be-

low the current one.

f Then rotate the control knob and select UP or DOWN to automatically scan up or

down to search for available frequency.

f Once the frequency is reached, press IR button to transfer the certain Group/Chan-

nel information corresponding to the scanned frequency to bodypack or handheld

transmitter.

NOTE: If you do not press any buttons for about 10 seconds, the system re-

turns to LOCK mode.

8.4. Transmitter Power Setting

Adjust SETUP control knob, press TX PWR function enter into Transmitter HI/LO setting
mode. Then adjust the control knob, select high or low power (HI or L0). Under the sit­uation of many equipment used together at the same time, select high power (HI) can
reduce mutual interference.

f To adjust transmitter power, rst unlock the receiver by holding for a few seconds

UNLOCK button.

f Then press SETUP knob and rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise until TX PWR

menu is reached.

f Press SETUP knob again to enter TX PWR menu. You ll nd two options: HI and LO.

Then rotate the control knob and select one of the two options.

f When LO icon ashes on receiver’s display, press UP or DOWN buttons to adjust

transmission power: “HI” stands for high power; “LO” stands for low power.

NOTE: Turn down the transmit power of a wireless system may seem a con-

tradiction. Normally radio interference cause audio noises because of poor
power, but this is not always true. In fact, sometimes a transmitter too close
to the receiver can create problems. In these cases, it may be better to reduce
transmission power in order to cancel these problems.

8.5. IR Sync Function

The WF-D290 comes with an infrared transmission system between receiver and trans­mitter that easily sends all settings to your hand-held or pocket transmitter. To activate
the IR function:

f Turn on the receiver and hold for a few seconds UNLOCK key to unlock it. Now you

can choose between manual channel setting or auto scan procedure to nd the best

frequency to be used.

Manual Channel Setting

f Once you have located an interference-free channel (please refer to “13. FREQUEN-

CY TABLE” at page 22), rotate SETUP knob, and press it to enter into channel set-

ting mode while GR/CH is highlighted.

f Rotate control knob again to select the appropriate menu item (GR or CH) and press

the knob to conrm.

f Select the appropriate group and channel by increasing or decreasing and, after

nished, press the control knob to conrm.

f Finally press for about 2 seconds IR button to sync the receiver to the handheld

transmitter or bodypack. icon will ash for about 15 seconds, indicating that the

receiver unit is sending the information through the IR sensor.

f Bring the handheld or pocket transmitter as close as possible to the receiver’s IR

sensor.

f Once the transmitter is synchronized, icon stops blinking; MUTE icon turns o,

battery and transmission power HI or LO icons light up, indicating that the sys-

tem is now working properly.

f The display on the transmitter shows the same channel set on the receiver and the

HI or LO icons indicate a good radio signal.

f After about 10 seconds, the system automatically returns to LOCK mode. At this

point the system is fully set and ready to operate.

Auto Scan Setting

If you want the system automatically suggest interference-free frequencies, then per­form the auto scan procedure as already shown in paragraph “8.3. Auto Scan Mode” at
page 15.

f Press SETUP knob and rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise until SCAN menu is

reached.

f Rotate the control knob again and select UP or DOWN to automatically scan up or

down for available frequencies.

f Once the frequency is reached, press for about 2 seconds IR button to transfer the

Group/Channel information corresponding to the scanned frequency to bodypack

or handheld transmitter. icon will ash for about 15 seconds, indicating that the

receiver unit is sending the information through the IR sensor.

f Bring the handheld or pocket transmitter as close as possible to the receiver’s IR

sensor.

f Once the transmitter is synchronized, icon stops blinking; MUTE icon turns o,

battery and transmission power HI or LO icons light up, indicating that the sys-

tem is now working properly.

f The display on the transmitter shows the same channel set on the receiver and the

HI or LO icons indicate a good radio signal.

f After about 10 seconds, the system automatically returns to LOCK mode. At this

point the system is fully set and ready to operate.

9. AUDIO CABLES

You need XLR balanced cables for connections to your audio equipment. See the
pictures below that show the internal wiring of these cables. Be sure to use only high
quality cables (visit our website www.soundsationmusic.com for further details).

Balanced use of XLR connectors

1= Ground/Shield
2= Hot (+)
3= Cold (-)

INPUT OUTPUT

In case of unbalanced use Pins 1 and 3 will be jumped

11. WF-RACK KIT1

WF-D190 receiver unit can be mounted into 19” standard rack units using an optional
kit (contact your dealer or go to www.soundsationmusic.com for more details) to adapt
the receiver to one 19” rack unit.

The kit includes:

A. 2x ¼ rack unit adapter
B. 2x Extension cables for Antenna
C. 4x Screws to fasten the receiver to the two

rack adapters

NOTE: The kit doesn’t include screws to fasten the whole block (receiver and

adapters) to the 19” rack chassis. About the extension antenna cables, they
are not used with the WF-D290 as its antennas are not detachable.

11.1. WF-RACK KIT1 Assembling

1. Remove the two plastic parts on each of the two sides of the receiver.

2. Place the A adapter so that the two lateral holes match those on the receiver side.

3. Fasten the adapter using two screws as shown in the picture.

4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 of this section on the other side of the receiver.

5. Place the two rear antennas in horizontal position.

All SOUNDSATION products feature a limited two-year warranty. This two-year warranty is specic

to the date of purchase as shown on your purchase receipt.

The following cases/components are not covered from the above warranty:

SOUNDSATION shall satisfy the warranty obligations by remedying any material or manufacturing

3. INTRODUZIONE

Il sistema SOUNDSATION WF-D290 adotta una nuova tecnologia di trasmissione
digitale e cifratura hardware dei dati audio che consentono una qualità audio superiore
(rispetto ai sistemi analogici UHF), la latenza molto bassa (meglio di sistemi a 2,4 GHz) e

la massima sicurezza grazie alla crittograa hardware.

La tecnologia digitale ID a 16bit evita interferenze anche sulla stessa frequenza, e
consente lo scambio continuo di dati tra trasmettitore e ricevitore, come il livello della
batteria, la potenza di trasmissione, operazione di squelch, etc.

Il sistema è dotato di scansione automatica e visualizzazione dello spettro di frequenza,
che permettono all’utente di selezionare le frequenze meno disturbati in ogni ambiente
in cui opera. È dotato di 90 frequenze per ciascun ricevitore, divisi in 10 gruppi, ognuno
dei quali contiene 9 canali.

L’interfaccia utente è molto semplice ed intuitiva, grazie al display TFT a colori del
ricevitore e la semplicità dei suoi menu di impostazione. Il trasmettitore a mano
e il body-pack, invece, sono dotati di display LCD con funzione di spegnimento
automatico, per risparmiare la batteria. Il microfono palmare è inoltre dotato di batteria

al litio ricaricabile che può essere ricaricata tramite la porta USB sul retro del ricevitore.

Inne, ci sono due kit opzionali per il montaggio a rack di 1 o 2 ricevitori,

rispettivamente, 1 o 2 standard da 19 “unità rack. Chiedete al vostro rivenditore o

8. Tasto IR B: premere per sincronizzare il ricevitore B col trasmettitore B.

9. Tasto di Sblocco del sistema B: blocca/sblocca il sistema B al ne di evitare modi-

che accidentali dei parametri di congurazione.

10. Manopola/pulsante SETUP b: accede a tutte le funzioni di modica del sistema B

(vedi sezione “8. INSTALLAZIONE DEL SISTEMA” a pagina 35 per ulteriori dettagli).

11. ANTENNA A: Riceve il segnale in radio frequenza dai trasmettitori A e B.

12. ANTENNA B: Come Antenna A.

13. Uscita MIX: È l’uscita audio sbilanciata di linea di entrambi i sistemi A e B con Jack

da ¼” da usare nel caso di collegamento a mixer o impianti audio con connessioni
sbilanciate.

14. Uscita bilanciata B: E’ l’uscita audio bilanciata XLR per la connessione al mixer o

al sistema audio. Per ulteriori dettagli sul cablaggio interno di cavi bilanciati, fare

17. Connettore USB per ricarica: Usare questa porta USB per la ricarica della bat-

teria dei trasmettitori palmari, collegando il cavo USB in dotazione al connettore
mini-USB posto sul fondo del microfono.

5.1. Display del Ricevitore

RF indica l’intensità del segnale radio. AF indica il livello dell’audio.
Più lunga è la barra, più forte è il segnale.

GR indica il gruppo di frequenza corrente. CH indica la frequenza
corrente del gruppo selezionato

SCAN eettua la scansione automatica per la verica delle frequen-
ze prive di disturbo e la selezione di quella ottimale.

TX PWR indica la potenza del trasmettitore. Può essere alta “HI” o

bassa “LO”.

HI / LO

LOCK indica che tutti i pulsanti non funzionano in questo stato
HI signica high power. LO signica low power
MUTE indica che il ricevitore è in stato di MUTE

Icona IR: quando lampeggia indica che il ricevitore sta inviando un

segnale di sincronizzazione.
Icona Batteria: indica lo stato della batteria del microfono palmare/

bodypack.

6. FUNZIONI DEL MICROFONO PALMARE

Il sistema WD-D290 è dotato di uno o due trasmettitori
a mano con capsula cardioide professionale dinamica.
Di seguito una rapida descrizione delle parti principali

1. Griglia: protegge la capsula del microfono. Non ri-

muoverla mai al ne di prevenire danneggiamenti

alle parti interne del microfono

2. Display LCD: Questo display retroilluminato visua-

lizza tutte le informazioni importanti relative alle im-

postazioni, così come il livello di carica della batteria.

NOTA: Dopo circa 10 secondi la retroillumina-

zione si abbassa, riducendo il consumo della
batteria. L’illuminazione torna ad aumentare
ogni volta che si preme il pulsante di alimentazione.

3. Sensore IR: Durante la procedura di sincronizzazione IR, portare questa parte del

trasmettitore vicino al sensore IR del ricevitore per completare l’operazione.

4. Pulsante di accensione: Premere e tenere premuto questo pulsante per circa 2

secondi per attivare o disattivare il microfono

5. Slot della batteria: Inserire la batteria ricaricabile al litio da 3.7V - 1200mAh in do-

tazione con il sistema, prestando attenzione alla corretta polarità (indicata sul fondo

di questo vano batterie).

6. Coperchio della Slot: Rimuovere questo coperchio per accedere al vano batteria e

inserire o sostituire le batterie.

6.3. Posizionamento della batteria

f In condizione di funzionamento, premere a lungo il pulsante ON/

OFF no a vedere OFF, poi il microfono è spento.

f Rimuovere il coperchio della batteria, inserire una batteria al litio

1x18500 nella corretta polarità.

f Premere al lungo il tasto ON/OFF per 2 secondi. Se il display LCD non si accende, ve-

ricare se la batteria è in polarità corretta o se è scarica. Se l’indicatore della batteria

del display LCD lampeggia, si prega di cambiare la batteria con una nuova.

NOTA: Il microfono può funzionare solo con la stessa frequenza del ricevito-

re. Si entra automaticamente in modalità predenita quando viene acceso,

ed automaticamente vengono salvati gli ultimi canali utilizzati.

6.4. Uso corretto del trasmettitore palmare

ATTENZIONE: La distanza operativa tra la griglia del microfono e la bocca

7. TRASMETTITORE TASCABILE E ARCHETTO

1. Microfono: Il sistema WF-D290HP
dispone di un microfono ad archetto
con capsula a condensatore cardioide
professionale.

2. Ingresso microfono: Inserire qui il
connettore audio dell’archetto.

3. Volume: Regolare il livello di ingresso
audio del trasmettitore. Utilizzare
questa manopola per adattare il livello
del segnale del microfono in modo da
evitare suono distorto.

4. Selettore ON/MUTE/OFF: Questo
selettore ha 3 posizioni. Quando è
tutto in posizione OFF, il microfono è
spento; quando è in posizione MUTE,
il microfono è attivo ma l’audio è

disabilitato; inne, quando è tutto in

posizione ON, il microfono sta lavorando e l’audio è attivo

NOTA: La posizione centrale di stand-by permette all’unità di trasmette-

re senza audio. Questa opzione è importante per evitare interferenze nel
ricevitore per l’assenza di un segnale radio trasmittente. Quindi, si suggerisce
di utilizzare SEMPRE la posizione di stand-by quando non si canta o non si

suona temporaneamente, ma il microfono senza li è collegato ad un sistema

audio (ad esempio, durante una pausa in uno spettacolo). È possibile spo­stare l’interruttore in posizione OFF (tutto giù) solo quando si è certi che il
volume del sistema audio è basso.

5. Power LED: Si accende quando il trasmettitore è acceso.

6. Antenna: Trasmette il segnale radio. Fare attenzione a non piegare o rompere

questo terminale.

7. Display LCD: Il display retroilluminato visualizza tutte le informazioni importanti
relative alle impostazioni, così come il livello di carica della batteria.

NOTE: Dopo circa 10 secondi la retroilluminazione si abbassa, riducendo il

consumo della batteria. L’illuminazione torna ad aumentare ogni volta che si
preme il pulsante di accensione.

9. Slot della batteria: Inserire due batterie da 1.5V tipo AA, prestare attenzione
alla corretta polarità (indicata sul fondo del vano batteria). Dopo di che, girare

l’interruttore su “ON”, se l’LCD si illumina, vericare se la batteria è nella corretta

polarità o se la batteria è scarica. Se l’indicatore LCD della batteria lampeggia, si
prega di sostituire le batterie con delle batterie nuove.

10. Coperchio della Slot: Aprire questo coperchio per poter inserire o sostituire le
batterie. Seguire le istruzioni per la sostituzione:

f Applicare una leggera pressione sulla parte superiore della porta (10) e tirare giù.
f Inserire o sostituire le batterie nel vano rispettando la polarità +/- indicata sul fondo.
f Chiudere il coperchio per impedire di perdere le batterie durante l’uso.

8. INSTALLAZIONE DEL SISTEMA

8.1. Posizionamento del Ricevitore

Prima di usare il sistema, assicurarsi che il ricevitore sia correttamente posizionato ad

una distanza di almeno 1m dal suolo, e a 1m dal muro o da un altro ostacolo sico di

grandi dimensioni (colonne o altre apparecchiature a radiofrequenza).

f Estrarre le due antenne (11) e (12), rendendole perpendicolari al ricevitore.
f Collegare l’alimentatore in dotazione alla presa di alimentazione DC (16). Assicurarsi

che l’adattatore sia adatto prima di utilizzare il ricevitore.

f Collegare l’uscita audio bilanciata (14 e 15) o sbilanciata (13) al mixer o al sistema

audio, utilizzando i cavi appropriati (vedere la sezione “9. CONNESSIONI AUDIO” a
pagina 41 per maggiori dettagli).

f Collegare il cavo di ricarica USB (in allegato) alla presa USB (17), e connettere il mi-

crofono palmare nell’altro lato. Caricare la batteria no a quando il display visualizza
“FULL”, il che signica che la batteria è stata caricata con successo.

NOTA: La funzione ricaricabile è disponibile solo sui microfoni palmari

(sistemi WF-D190H). Si noti inoltre che la batteria viene caricata anche se il
sistema è spento ma collegato alla rete.

f Accendere il ricevitore premendo il tasto POWER (1); l’LCD (5 e 7) si illumina mo-

strando le impostazioni correnti del sistema.

Si prega di notare che quando si accende il ricevitore, la funzione LOCK è attiva. Tenere
premuto per due secondi il pulsante per sbloccare e avere accesso a tutti i para­metri. Oltre alla funzione LOCK attiva, all’accensione del ricevitore è ancora disattivato

(l’icona è attiva) no a quando il trasmettitore si accende e si allinea sui canali dello
stesso ricevente.

8.2. Impostazione manuale Gruppo/Canale

Dopo aver sbloccato il ricevitore, l’icona si illumina, indicando che è possibile sele­zionare uno dei 10 gruppi e una delle 9 frequenze in ogni gruppo.

f Una volta individuato un canale senza interferenze (vedere “12. TAVOLA DELLE FRE-

QUENZE” a pagina 44 per dettagli), ruotare la manopola SETUP, e premere per
entrare nella modalità di settaggio dei canali mentre viene evidenziato GR/CH.

f Poi ruotare la manopola di controllo per selezionare la voce di menu appropriata (GR

o CH) e premere la manopola per confermare.

f Selezionare il gruppo e il canale appropriati aumentando o diminuendo e, inne,

premere la manopola di controllo per confermare.

f Inne premere la funzione IR per sincronizzare il ricevitore con il trasmettitore por-

tatile o tascabile.

NOTA: Se durante la selezione di gruppo/canale non si preme alcun tasto per

circa 10 secondi, il sistema ritorna automaticamente alla modalità LOCK.
È pertanto necessario sbloccare nuovamente il ricevitore per accedere di
nuovo alla modalità di impostazione gruppo/canale.

8.3. Modalità di Scansione Automatica

Il sistema SOUNDSATION WF-D290 è dotato di un’utile funzione di scansione auto-

matica delle frequenze. Ciò consente di scegliere sempre i canali con meno problemi e

rendere le operazioni di impostazione estremamente rapida.

f Per eseguire automaticamente una scansione delle frequenze, sbloccare - se non già

fatto - il ricevitore tenendo premuto per alcuni secondi tasto di sblocco.

f Poi premere la manopola SETUP e ruotarla in senso orario o antiorario no al rag-

giungimento del menu SCAN.

f Premere di nuovo la manopola SETUP per entrare nel menu SCAN. Si avranno due

opzioni: UP o DOWN. UP o DOWN. UP esegue una scansione dello spettro e restitu­isce la prima frequenza libera sopra a quella attuale. DOWN analizza lo spettro, ma
restituisce la prima frequenza libera al di sotto di quello attuale.

f Poi ruotare la manopola di controllo e selezionare UP o DOWN per scansionare au-

f Una volta che la frequenza è stata trovata, premere il pulsante IR per trasferire le

informazioni di quel determinato gruppo/canale al bodypack o al trasmettitore a
mano.

NOTE: Se non viene premuto nessun pulsante per circa 10 secondi, il sistema

torna in modalità LOCK.

8.4. Impostazione della potenza del trasmettitore

Regolare la manopola di controllo SETUP, premere la funzione TX PWR per entrare nel­la modalità di impostazione HI / LO del trasmettitore. Quindi regolare la manopola di
controllo, selezionare una potenza alta o bassa (HI o L0). In caso di utilizzo di numerosi
sistemi contemporaneamente, selezionare una potenza alta (HI) può ridurre l’interfe­renza reciproca.

f Per regolare la potenza del trasmettitore, prima sbloccare il ricevitore tenendo pre-

muto per alcuni secondi il tasto UNLOCK.

f Poi premere la manopola SETUP e ruotarla in senso orario o antiorario no a che

viene raggiunto il menu TX PWR.

f Premere ancora la manopola SETUP per entrare nel menu TX PWR. Verranno mo-

strate due opzioni: HI e LO. Ruotare poi la manopola del controllo e selezionare una
delle due opzioni.

f Quando l’icona LO lampeggia sul display del ricevitore, premere il pulsante UP o

DOWN per regolare la potenza del trasmettitore: “HI” indica la potenza alta; “LO”

indica la potenza bassa.

NOTA: Ridurre la potenza di trasmissione di un radiomicrofono può sembrare

una contraddizione. Normalmente le interferenze radio procurano rumori a
causa della scarsa potenza, ma questo non è sempre vero. In realtà, a volte un
trasmettitore troppo vicino al ricevitore può creare problemi. In questi casi,
può essere meglio ridurre la potenza di trasmissione per annullare questi
problemi.

8.5. Funzione di sincronizzazione IR

Il WF-D290 è dotato di un sistema di trasmissione a infrarossi tra ricevitore e trasmet­titori che invia facilmente tutte le impostazioni al trasmettitore a mano o tascabile. Per
attivare la funzione IR:

f Accendere il ricevitore e tenere premuto per alcuni secondi il tasto UNLOCK per

sbloccarlo. Ora si può scegliere tra impostazione manuale dei canali o procedura di

scansione automatica per trovare la migliore frequenza da utilizzare.

Impostazione manuale del canale

f Quando è stata individuato un canale senza interferenze (fare riferimento alla ta-

bella “12. TAVOLA DELLE FREQUENZE” a pagina 44), ruotare la manopola SETUP,
e premerla per entrare in modalità di impostazione del canale, mentre GR / CH è
evidenziata.

f Ruotare di nuovo la manopola di controllo per selezionare la voce di menu appro-

priata (GR o CH) e premere la manopola per confermare.

f Selezionare il gruppo e il canale appropriati aumentando o diminuendo e, dopo aver

nito, premere la manopola di controllo per confermare.

f Inne premere per circa 2 secondi il pulsante IR per sincronizzare il ricevitore al

trasmettitore a mano o al bodypack. L’icona lampeggerà per circa 15 secondi,
indicando che l’unità ricevente sta inviando le informazioni attraverso il sensore IR.

f Portare il trasmettitore a mano o il tascabile il più vicino possibile al sensore IR del

ricevitore.

f Una volta che il trasmettitore è sincronizzato, l’icona smette di lampeggiare; l’i-

cona MUTE si spegne, le icone della batterie e della potenza di trasmissione HI
o LO si accendono, indicando che il sistema è ora funziona correttamente.

f Il display sul trasmettitore mostra lo stesso canale impostato sul ricevitore e le icone

HI o LO indicano un buon segnale radio.

f Dopo circa 10 secondi, il sistema ritorna automaticamente in modalità LOCK. A que-

sto punto il sistema è completamente impostato e pronto per funzionare.

Impostazione della scansione automatica

Se si desidera che il sistema suggerisca automaticamente le frequenze senza
interferenze, eseguire la procedura di scansione automatica, come già indicato nel
paragrafo “8.3. Modalità di scansione automatica” a pagina 36

f Premere la manopola SETUP e ruotarla in senso orario o antiorario no a che non si

raggiunge il menu SCAN.

f Ruotare di nuovo la manopola di controllo e selezionare UP o DOWN per eseguire la

scansione automaticamente verso l’alto o verso il basso per le frequenze disponibili.

f Una volta raggiunta la frequenza, premere per circa 2 secondi il pulsante IR per

trasferire le informazioni Gruppo/Canale corrispondenti alla frequenza acquisita dal
trasmettitore palmare o tascabile. L’icona lampeggerà per circa 15 secondi, indi­cando che il ricevitore sta inviando le informazioni tramite il sensore IR.

f Portare il trasmettitore a mano o tascabile il più vicino possibile al sensore IR del

ricevitore.

f Una volta che il trasmettitore è sincronizzato, l’icona smette di lampeggiare; l’i-

cona MUTE si spegne, le icone della batterie e della potenza di trasmissione HI
o LO si accendono, indicando che il sistema è ora funziona correttamente.

f Il display sul trasmettitore mostra lo stesso canale impostato sul ricevitore e le icone

HI o LO indicano un buon segnale radio.

f Dopo circa 10 secondi, il sistema ritorna automaticamente in modalità LOCK. A que-

sto punto il sistema è completamente impostato e pronto per funzionare.

Per l’utilizzo del WF-D290 è necessario avere cavi bilanciati XLR e/o sbilanciati con Jack
da 6.3mm. Vedi le seguenti immagini che mostrano il cablaggio interno di questi cavi.

10.1. Installare il WF-RACK KIT1

1. Rimuovere i due anchi in plastica posti su ciascuno dei due lati del ricevitore.

2. Posizionare la angia A in modo che i due fori laterali corrispondano a quelli sul

anco del ricevitore.

3. Fissare l’adattatore con due viti, come mostrato nella gura a lato.

4. Ripetere i passaggi da 1 a 3 di questa sezione sull’altro lato del ricevitore.

5. Mettere le due antenne posteriori in posizione orizzontale.
