1) Heat
The apparatus should be located away from heat sources such as radiators, stoves or
other appliances that produce heat. Don not use it when maximum ambient temperature is higher than 40°C.
2) Object and Liquid Entry
Objects do not fall into and liquids are not spilled into the inside of the apparatus for
safety.
3) Power Cord and Plug
Protect power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. Do not defeat the safety
purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two poles; a
grounding-type plug has two poles and a third grounding terminal. The third prong is
provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not t into your outlet, refer to an
electrician for replacement.
4) Power Supply
The apparatus should be connected to the power supply only of the type as marked on
the apparatus or described in the manual. Failure to do could result in damage to the
product and possibly the user. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when
unused for long periods of time.
5) Electrical Connection
Cut off power before moving, repairing and cleaning the unit. Improper electrical wiring
may invalidate the product warranty.
To avoid electric shock, all xtures must be connected to circuits with a suitable ground.
Do not power on and power off the xture in a short time.
6) DMX connection
When use DMX controller, please make sure that there is no interference sources (e.g.
intercom, high frequency radio waves and radiation source).
7) Cleaning
Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not use any solvents such as benzene or alcohol.
8) Servicing
Do not implement any servicing other than those means described in the manual. Refer
all servicing to qualied service personnel only. Only use accessories/attachments or
parts recommended by the manufacturer.

1. INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing our BAR-18-12W-IP65. Enjoy your new equipment and make
sure to read this manual carefully before operation.
This user manual is made to provide both an overview of controls, as well as information on how to use them.
1.1. Unpacking
Your BAR-18-12W-IP65 was carefully packed to ensure safe transport. Despite this,
we recommend you to carefully examine the package and its contents for any signs
of physical damage, which can occur during transport. In the package there are the
following items:
f 1 x 18 LED Bar
f 1 x Power cord
f 1 x DMX Cable
f 2 x Mount Brackets for xing to the ground, wall or ceiling.
f 1 x User manual
ATTENTION: Packaging carton is not a toy! Keep out of reach of children!!!
Keep in a safe place the original packaging material for future use.
If anything damaged during transport, notify the shipper immediately and keep the
packing material for inspection. Again, please save the carton and all packing materials.
If the xture must be returned to the manufacturer, it is important that it is returned in
the original manufacturer box and packing. Please do not take any action without rst
contacting us.

2. OVERVIEW
The BAR-18-12W-IP65 is a slim bar with individual control of 18 High Power LEDs. It is
a compact and powerful xture for both indoor and outdoor use. The bar is equipped
with powerful RGBW LED chips of 4in1 technology and allows light designers a variety
of effects and programming options. The specially designed housing ensures an optimum heat dissipation during operating. An elegant design along with ease of use result
in a complete and beautiful product for any indoor or outdoor application

4. MAINS CONNECTION
Connect the device to the mains with the supplied power cord. When connecting the
power supply, please check that the supply voltage and frequency are the same as
indicated for the device. The cable pin-out is as follows:

The earth must to be connected! Pay attention to the safety! Before taking
into operation for the rst time, the installation has to be approved by an
expert.
5. DMX CONNECTIONS
DMX xtures are designed to receive data through a serial Daisy Chain. A Daisy Chain
connection is where the DATA OUT of one xture connects to the DATA IN of the next
xture. The order in which the xtures are connected is not important and has no effect
on how a controller communicates to each xture. Use an order that provides for the
easiest and most direct cabling.

Connect xtures using shielded 2-conductor twisted pair cable with 3-pin XLR male to
female connectors. The shield connection is pin 1, while pin 2 is Data Negative (S-), and
pin 3 is Data positive (S+).
CAUTION: Wires must not come into contact with each other; otherwise the
xtures will not work at all, or will not work properly.

5.1. DMX Terminator
DMX is a resilient communication protocol, however errors still occasionally occur.
In order to prevent electrical noise from disturbing and corrupting the DMX control
signals, a good habit is to connect DMX output of last xture in the chain to a DMX
terminator, especially over long signal cable runs.
The DMX terminator is simply an XLR connector with a 120Ω (ohm), 1/4 Watt resistor
connected across Signal (-) and Signal (+), respectively, pins 2 and 3, which is then
plugged into the output socket on last projector in the chain. The connections are
illustrated below.

Complimentary signal cable can transmits signals to 20 unit xtures at most.
Signal amplier is a must to connect more xtures.

1) POWER IN CONNECTOR
Plug the supplied power-cord to the Power IN connector and into an AC socket proper-
ly congured for your particular model.
2) POWER OUT CONNECTOR
Power output connector for power supply to additional SOUNDSATION lights. Ensure
that the total current consumption of all connected devices does not exceed the value
specied on the device in amperes (A).
3) DMX INPUT CONNECTOR
Male 3-pin connector for connection to a DMX control device
4) DMX OUTPUT CONNECTOR
Female 3-pin connector for sending the DMX control signal.

1) Menu Button
This button allows to scroll all the device’s functions and to escape from a selected
function without any saving.
2) UP Button
Using this button, it is possible to increase the function’s value.
3) DOWN Button
Using this button, it is possible to decrease the function’s value.
4) ENTER Button
This button allows to save a new function’s value.
5) 4 x 7 SEGMENTS display
It shows the current function’s value.

8.1. FUNCTIONS DESCRIPTION
All the BAR-18-12W-IP65 functions are selectable by using the MENU BUTTON on the
Control Panel. Here below there is an explanation about the device’s functions.
1) DMX CHANNEL SELECTION
After the selection of this function, the display shows the current value of the DMX
Channel. Pressing the buttons UP and/or Down, it is possible to change the value in
order to select the desired DMX Channel. Press the ENTER button to conrm the operation.
2) DMX CHANNELS NUMBER CONFIGURATION
BAR-18-12W-IP65 can be congured with three channel modes in order to be managed by a DMX controller. This function allows the selection of the desired mode.
The three possible modes are 9Ch ,23Ch and 72Ch. Press the ENTER button to conrm
the selected mode
3) Color Jump
This is an automatic mode. The LED bar is fully lit and the effect is the jump between
the different colors with the speed set by the user (0 ÷ 99) by using the UP and DOWN
buttons.
4) Color FADE - PULSE CHANGE
This is an automatic mode. The LED bar is fully lit and the transition between colors
occurs cyclically with fades and pulses. The User can set the transition speed (0 ÷ 99) by
using the UP and DOWN buttons.
5) Color RUN 1
This is an automatic mode. The LED bar is fully lit and the transition between colors
occurs by changing the color to each individual LED creating a scrolling effect. The User
can set the scrolling/transition speed (0 ÷ 99) by using the UP and DOWN buttons.
6) Color RUN 2
This is an automatic mode. The LED bar is fully lit and the transition between colors
takes place with a mix of effects of fades, impulses and scrolling. The User can set the
effects speed (0 ÷ 99) by using the UP and DOWN buttons.
7) RUNNING CHANGE MODES
This function allows selection between 15 different automatic modes (0 ÷ 14) with scroll
effects and color combinations. Selection is made by using the UP and DOWN buttons.
8) RUNNING CHANGE MODE SPEED
This function allows to set the speed (0 ÷ 99) of the “RUNNING CHANGE MODE” selected. The speed setting can be done using the UP and DOWN buttons.

9) RED
When the device is used with a xed color, this parameter determines the intensity of
the red color. The User can set this parameter (0 ÷ 255) by using the UP and DOWN
buttons.
10) GREEN
When the device is used with a xed color, this parameter determines the intensity of
the green color. The User can set this parameter (0 ÷ 255) by using the UP and DOWN
buttons.
11) BLUE
When the device is used with a xed color, this parameter determines the intensity of
the blue color. The User can set this parameter (0 ÷ 255) by using the UP and DOWN
buttons.
12) WHITE
When the device is used with a xed color, this parameter determines the intensity of
the white color. The User can set this parameter (0 ÷ 255) by using the UP and DOWN
buttons.
13) DEVICE ID
If you have more BAR-18-12W-IP65 devices, you can use them in a serial Daisy Chain.
This is possible setting a device as master, and all the others as slaves. This function
allows you to give an ID NUMBER to each device used as slave. A maximum of 14 devices can be set as slaves and you can choose the ID NUMBER using the UP and DOWN
buttons.
14) SLAVE
When this function is selected, the device is set as a slave.

10. WARRANTY AND SERVICE
All SOUNDSATION products feature a limited two-year warranty. This two-year warranty is specic
to the date of purchase as shown on your purchase receipt.
The following cases/components are not covered from the above warranty:
• Any accessories supplied with the product
• Improper use
• Fault due to wear and tear
• Any modication of the product effected by the user or a third party
SOUNDSATION shall satisfy the warranty obligations by remedying any material or manufacturing
faults free of charge at SOUNDSATION’s discretion either by repair or by exchanging individual
parts or the entire appliance. Any defective parts removed from a product during the course of a
warranty claim shall become the property of SOUNDSATION.
While under warranty period, defective products may be returned to your local SOUNDSATION
dealer together with original proof of purchase. To avoid any damages in transit, please use the
original packaging if available. Alternatively you can send the product to SOUNDSATION SERVICE
CENTER – Via Enzo Ferrari , 10 – 62017 Porto Recanati - Italy . In order to send a product to service
center you need an RMA number. Shipping charges have to be covered by the owner of the product.

1)^Calore
L’apparecchio deve essere posto lontano da fonti di calore come radiatori, stufe o altri
apparecchi che producono calore.
2)^VENTILAZIONE
Non ostruite le prese d’aria per la ventilazione: ciò potrebbe provocare incendi. Installate sempre l’unità secondo le istruzioni del produttore.
3)^Introduzione di oggetti e liquidi
Non introdurre oggetti o versare liquidi all’interno dell’apparato per ragioni di sicurezza
4)^Cavo di alimentazione e spina
Evitate che il cavo di alimentazione venga calpestato o schiacciato, in particolare in
prossimità delle spine, delle prese e del punto in cui fuoriesce dall’apparecchio. Non
vanicate la nalità di sicurezza della spina con messa a terra. Una spina normale o
“polarizzata” ha due soli terminali; una spina con messa a terra ha un terzo polo di
terra. Questo ulteriore terminale serve per la vostra sicurezza. Se la spina fornita non si
inserisce nella presa, consultate un elettricista per l’eventuale sostituzione.
5)^ALIMENTAZIONE
L’apparecchio deve essere collegato all’alimentazione solo del tipo indicato sull’ap-
parecchio o descritto nel manuale. In caso contrario, potrebbero vericarsi danni al

4. CONNESSIONE ALLA RETE ELETTRICA
Collegare il dispositivo alla rete elettrica con il cavo di alimentazione in dotazione.
Quando si collega l’alimentazione al si prega di controllare che la tensione di alimenta-

5. CONNESSIONI DMX
Gli apparecchi DMX sono progettati per ricevere dati attraverso una catena seriale a
cascata. Questo tipo di connessione permette di connettere il DATA OUT di un dispositivo al DATA IN del dispositivo successivo. L’ordine in cui i dispositivi sono collegati
non è importante e non ha alcun effetto su come un controllore comunica a ciascuna
apparecchiatura. Utilizzare un ordine che preveda il cablaggio più semplice e diretto.

ATTENZIONE: I li non devono entrare in contatto l’uno con l’altro; altrimenti

5.1. Terminatore DMX
DMX è un protocollo di comunicazione elastico, tuttavia si potrebbero vericare occasionalmente degli errori. Le terminazioni riducono gli errori di segnale, e quindi le
migliori applicazioni includono l’uso di una terminazione in tutte le circostanze. Se si
vericano problemi con un comportamento irregolare dell’apparecchio, specialmente
sulla lunghezza dei cavi di segnale, un terminale può aiutare a migliorare le prestazioni.
Il terminatore DMX è semplicemente un connettore XLR con un resistore da 120Ω
(ohm), 1/4 Watt collegato attraverso il segnale (-) e il segnale (+), rispettivamente, i pin
2 e 3, che viene quindi inserito nella presa di uscita sull’ultimo proiettore nella catena.

8.1. DESCRIZIONE DELLE FUNZIONI
Tutte le funzioni di BAR-18-12W-IP65 sono selezionabili usando il PULSANTE MENU sul
pannello di controllo. Di seguito c’è una spiegazione su ogni funzione del dispositivo.
1) SELEZIONE CANALE DMX
Dopo aver selezionato questa funzione, il display mostra il valore corrente del canale
DMX. Premendo i pulsanti UP e/o Down, è possibile modicare il valore per selezionare
il canale DMX desiderato. Premere il pulsante ENTER per confermare l’operazione.
2) CONFIGURAZIONE NUMERO CANALI DMX
BAR-18-12W-IP65 può essere congurato con tre modalità canali per essere gestito da
un controller DMX. Questa funzione consente la selezione della modalità desiderata.
Le tre modalità possibili sono 9Ch, 23Ch e 72Ch. Premere il pulsante ENTER per confermare la modalità selezionata
3) SALTO COLORE
Questa è una modalità automatica. La barra LED è completamente illuminata e, l’effetto
è il salto tra i diversi colori con la velocità impostata dall’utente (0 ÷ 99) utilizzando i
pulsanti UP e DOWN.
4) Color FADE - PULSE CHANGE
Questa è una modalità automatica. La barra LED è completamente illuminata e la
transizione tra i colori si verica ciclicamente con dissolvenze e impulsi. L’utente può
impostare la velocità di transizione (0 ÷ 99) usando i pulsanti UP e DOWN.
5) COLOR RUN 1
Questa è una modalità automatica. La barra LED è completamente illuminata e la transizione tra i colori avviene cambiando il colore in ogni singolo LED creando un effetto
di scorrimento. L’utente può impostare la velocità di scorrimento / transizione (0 ÷ 99)
usando i pulsanti UP e DOWN.
6) COLOR RUN 2
Questa è una modalità automatica. La barra LED è completamente illuminata e la transizione tra i colori avviene con un mix di effetti di dissolvenze, impulsi e scorrimento.
L’utente può impostare la velocità degli effetti (0 ÷ 99) usando i pulsanti UP e DOWN.
7) MODALITA RUNNING CHANGE
Questa funzione consente di selezionare tra 15 diverse modalità automatiche (0 ÷ 14)
con effetti di scorrimento e combinazioni di colori. La selezione viene effettuata usando
i pulsanti UP e DOWN
8) IMPOSTAZIONE VELOCITA PER MODO RUNNING CHANGE
Questa funzione consente di impostare la velocità (0 ÷ 99) della modalità “RUNNING
CHANGE” selezionata. L’impostazione della velocità può essere fatta usando i pulsanti
UP e DOWN.

Quando il dispositivo viene utilizzato con un colore sso, questo parametro determina
l’intensità del colore rosso. L’utente può impostare questo parametro (0 ÷ 255) usando i
pulsanti UP e DOWN.
10)^IMPOSTAZIONE INTENSITA DEL COLORE VERDE
Quando il dispositivo viene utilizzato con un colore sso, questo parametro determina
l’intensità del colore verde. L’utente può impostare questo parametro (0 ÷ 255) usando
i pulsanti UP e DOWN.
11)^IMPOSTAZIONE INTENSITA DEL COLORE BLUE
Quando il dispositivo viene utilizzato con un colore sso, questo parametro determina
l’intensità del colore blù. L’utente può impostare questo parametro (0 ÷ 255) usando i
pulsanti UP e DOWN.
12)^IMPOSTAZIONE INTENSITA DEL COLORE BIANCO
Quando il dispositivo viene utilizzato con un colore sso, questo parametro determina
l’intensità del colore bianco. L’utente può impostare questo parametro (0 ÷ 255) usan-
do i pulsanti UP e DOWN.
13)^NUMERO ID DEL DISPOSITIVO
Se si dispone di più dispositivi BAR-18-12W-IP65, è possibile utilizzarli in serie. Si può
quindi determinare un dispositivo come master e tutti gli altri come slave. Questa
funzione consente di assegnare un numero identicativo a ciascun dispositivo utilizzato
come slave. Si possono impostare al massimo 14 dispositivi come slave. Il NUMERO ID
viene selezionato usando i pulsanti UP e DOWN.

Quando viene selezionata questa funzione, il dispositivo è impostato come slave.

Durante il periodo di garanzia, i prodotti difettosi possono essere restituiti al rivenditore SOUNDSATION locale con prova di acquisto originale. Per evitare danni durante il trasporto, si prega di

prodotto al centro di assistenza è necessario un numero di RMA. Le spese di trasporto devono
essere coperte dal proprietario del prodotto.
