Installing Batteries
1. Unscrew the compartment fixture with a tool, lift up the battery comp
artment cover
located on the rear of your Utility Radio
2. Insert 4 “C” size (UM-2) batteries into the compartment. Ensure that battery is
inserted in accordance with the diagram shown.
3. Close the battery cover and screw the compartment fixture.
4. Reduced power, distortion, shuttering sound or while low battery LED is lighted on
are all signs that batteries may need replacing.
5. If the radio is not to be used for any extended period of time, it is recommended that
the battery is removed from
the radio.
Power Supply By AC Adaptor
1. Connect the AC/DC adaptor to
the DC inlet of the unit.
2. Connect the AC/DC Adaptor to a properly installed wall socket.
Note: Whenever the adaptor is used, the batteries are automatically disconnected. To
operate the set on batteries, check that the AC plug is detached from the DC inlet of the
unit.
Note: Unplug the adaptor from the mains and the unit, when the unit is not used for a
longer period of time.
Operating your radio FM
1. Turn on your radio by switching
the Power knob to FM position.

2. Rotate the Tuning Control to select the desire station. On FM, the tuning scale is
marked in MHz (Megahertz).
3. Adjust the Volume Control for comfortable listening.
4. To switch off the radio, turn the Power knob to Off position.
5. The soft spring antenna is used for FM band reception.
Operating your radio AM
6. Turn on your radio by switching
the Power knob to AM position.
7. Rotate the Tuning Control to select the desire station. On AM, the tuning scale is
marked in kHz (Kilohertz).
8. Adjust the Volume Control for comfortable listening.
9. To switch off the radio, turn the Power knob to Off position.
10. The soft spring antenna is used for FM band reception.
Headphone Socket
A headphone socket has been provided. To use it, plug in headphones (3.5mm
connector/32ohm) available at your local dealer and adjust the volume control to a
comfortable listening level.
When external headphones are connected, the sound to the unit’s main speaker will be
muted.
Maintenance
z Wipe the exterior of the set with a soft, if necessary damp, cloth.
z Do not use any scouring cleaning agents.
z Once a year check the condition of the batteries in the battery compartment to avoid
any damage to the unit from battery leakage.
Always unplug the set before cleaning. Never put the unit into water or any other liquid.
Instructions on environment protection
Do not dispose of this product in the usual household garbage at the end of its life cycle; hand
it over at a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic appliances. The
symbol on the product, the instructions for use or the packing will inform about the methods
for disposal.
The materials are recyclable as mentioned in its marking. By recycling, material recycling or other
forms of re-utilization of old appliances, you are making an important contribution to protect our
environment.
