Information
SEMC has produced some T628 and T630 with faulty software that
unfortunately has been shipped to end users in some markets.
The phones are produced during w506 and w517.
There are two symptoms that can be used as an indicator of this
problem:
-The phone will display the message “No network”
-It is not possible to place as well as receive a call even if the phone
is camping on a network.
Solution
There is now a patch available on EMMA II that can solve this
problem. The script is located under the Flash selection in the
Default2 domain. The script is called “T630 MIC and Philips Ingela
Patch” and is available to all types of hardlocks.
This script starts with identifying what type of Ingela there is on the
ROA and then continues with loading correct patch (the
Xtra_T630_Philips_Ingela or Xtra T630_MIC_Ingela) into the
phone.
If this patch for some reason doesn’t solve the problem, the phone
shall be handled according to normal repair procedures.
However, pls contact your SEMC repair contact if there are large
volumes that need to be scrapped due to this issue.
