Sony-Ericsson T610 Bluetooth Connections
You can use the Microsoft® Wireless Transceiver for Bluetooth® to transfer les, contacts, and other information
between your Sony-Ericsson T610 mobile phone and your computer. For this to work correctly, you must rst
congure the computer and mobile phone to communicate with each other.
This document will help you congure your computer and your mobile phone to communicate over a Bluetooth
connection, and step you through synchronizing your data.
These instructions assume that:
• You have already set up and congured your Microsoft Wireless Transceiver for Bluetooth on your
computer.
• You have the Sony-Ericsson Communication Suite CD-ROM, or you have downloaded the latest version of
Communication Suite 1.5.9 from the Support area at http://www.sonyericsson.com.
• You are running Microsoft Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 installed.
To congure your phone for Bluetooth connections
1 Press Menu, press Connect, press Bluetooth, and then press Options.
2 Select Visibility, and then choose Show Phone.
3 (Optional:) Select Edit Phone Name, and then enter a custom name for the mobile phone.
4 Press Back to return to Bluetooth, and then select Turn On.
To add your mobile phone to Windows as a Bluetooth device
1 On your computer, click Start, click Control Panel, click Printers and other Hardware, and then click
Bluetooth Devices.
2 On the Devices tab, click Add.
3 Follow the instructions in the Add Bluetooth Device Wizard to install your mobile phone. When prompted,
you will need to enter a passkey on your mobile phone to accept the connection from your computer.
4 On the Finish screen of the wizard, make a note of the incoming COM port assigned to your phone’s
Bluetooth connection. You will use this information to congure your phone synchronization software in
the following procedure.
To install the Communications Suite and XTNDConnect PC
The Sony-Ericsson Communications Suite is a collection of programs that your mobile phone uses to interact
with your computer in various ways. XTNDConnect PC is used specically to synchronize your e-mail client, such
as Microsoft Outlook®, with the corresponding applications on your mobile phone.
1 On your computer, start the Communication Suite installation from the CD-ROM or by double-clicking
the .exe le downloaded from the Web.
2 Follow the setup instructions to install the Communication Suite and XTNDConnect PC on your computer.
Restart your system when prompted.
3 After Windows has restarted, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Phone Monitor Options.
4 Click the COM Ports tab.
5 Select the COM port that you wrote down earlier, and then select Enable.
6 Click OK to save your changes.
To synchronize your e-mail content, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Sony Ericsson, and then click
Start Outlook Synchronization.

Troubleshooting Tips
Problems synchronizing your Outlook information
When using XTNDConnect PC with your T610 mobile phone, there can be issues with synchronizing data over a
Bluetooth connection. If this happens, try the following steps:
• If you receive a Device not found error message, click Retry to search again. You may need to try more
than once to complete the connection..
• When a Bluetooth connection is established, the Phone Connection Wizard may appear. Click Next on
each screen of the wizard to return to the synchronization process. If the wizard launches more than once,
click Cancel to skip the wizard.
• Restart your computer and try the synchronization process again.
