Getting started Sending picture messages with the T290
Sending picture messages using MMS
When sending a picture message you use a service called MMS (Multimedia Message Service), which is
an extension of SMS (Short Message Service). MMS allows you to send messages containing text,
pictures, camera pictures and sound recordings to mobile phones and/or email accounts. Take a picture
with the camera, add text, some appropriate sounds and send it to someone you want to share the
moment with. Easy and fun.
Before you start
Before you start sending such messages, you need to activate the service and enter the correct phone
settings. These settings can be entered in three different ways:
• Automatically by using the Sony Ericsson WAP Phone setup at www.SonyEricsson.com/support
(if supported by your service provider)
• Automatically by receiving them from your service provider
• Manually by entering the settings in your T290
• Please note that the settings are different for different service providers. Settings may already be
entered when you buy the phone
Receive settings using the MMS Phone setup
