The media player works as a music player and video player all in one. You can play music and video clips that you receive in a picture message, or that you download to your phone. You can also stream music and videos from Web sites. You can save files that you download in the phone and then use the media player to play back audio or video clips whenever you want. The folder system enables you, for example, to organize your favourite songs into groups and create simple playlists.

Playback

You can listen to music and view video clips that you have saved in your phone.
To pl a y m usic
1. } Entertainment } Media player and select All music } Open.
2. Select a file } Play.
To view a video clip
1. } Entertainment } Media player and select All videos } Open.
2. Select the video clip you want to view } Play.
To control the Media player
} Pause to pause the playback.
•Press to play a video clip one frame at a time.
•Press and to move in the music list.
•Press and to go forward or back to the next music track or video clip.
•Press and hold and to rewind or fast forward.

Media player options

To change the media player options
More to view the following options:
}
Minimize – return to standby and continue using the media player.
Add media – when you have selected a file, you can add a video clip, a ringtone, or an MP3 track
from your File manager.
Information – view information about the current track or video.
Play mode – change the playback order of songs and video clips. Select Loop or Shuffle.
Equalizer – adjust the settings for output sound.
Select from preset settings or change settings manually, when playing music. Press , } Normal, Bass, Mega Bass™, Voice or Treble boost to select preset settings. } Manual to change the preset settings. Press or to move between the settings and press or to increase or decrease the settings. } Preset to select from the preset settings.
Sort – change the playlist order of songs and video clips. Select Artist, Title, or As created.
Send – send a sound file or video clip using one of the available transfer methods.
Delete – delete a track or video clip from a playlist. The file can still be found in the File manager.

Streaming music and videos

You can view videos and listen to music that you find on a Web site by streaming them to your phone. To
stream music or video means that the sound or the moving images are available to you as they arrive, with minimal downloading or waiting time. This means that you can start to listen to the music or to view a
video clip before the complete file is downloaded to your phone.
Settings are required before you can download or stream videos or music from the Web with the Media player,
When browsing, and when you have found a link for streaming, the media player will open automatically when the link is selected. Links for streaming can be saved as bookmarks in the phone.
To stream music and videos
1. Select a link to stream. The media player will open and play the streaming music or video.
To transfer files between your computer and your phone
1. Download the PC Suite, which contains file manager and synchronization software, to your computer from
www.SonyEricsson.com/support.
2. Install file manager and synchronization software on your computer.
3. Download the document “Synchronizing with a computer” from www.SonyEricsson.com/support and follow the instructions to connect your phone to your computer using one of the available methods such as a cable, Bluetooth wireless technology or Infrared.
4. Computer: Start Sony Ericsson File Manager on your computer and use the file manager window to
transfer files between your computer and your phone.
