• Do i^ot place heavy material on the unit. . Should any solid object or liquid fall into the cabinet, urrplug the unit
and have it checked by qualified personnel before operating it any further.
• Do not install Ihe unit near a heat source such as a radiator or an air duct, near a MVJ radio or tuner (noise may occur) or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, humidify, mechanical vibration or shock.
• The unit IS designed lor operation in a horizontal position. Never operate the unit in a vertical position.
Clean the cabinet with a dry soft doth, or a soft cloth light^ moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of solvent, such as alcohol or benzine, that may damage the finish,
• Use the supplied drawing pen with the pad.
• Do not torcefulfy strike the pad or press hard against >t with the pen. . Do not scrape the pad fast as the drawn line may be broken.
• Do not forcefully press against Ihe pad with your hand as t e position of the pen may slip.

Using the video camera recorder is always enjoyable when you travel or want to record a special event. But when you later watch the videotape you have recorded, do you feel something is missing from the picture? The Video Sketch Titler (the tiller) helps you make your videotape more fun and memorable Oy creating and adding titles onto your videotape.
The titler allows you to do the following procedures easily with an on-screen menu:
• create a title using three types and two sizes of font
• create a title by freehand writing and drawing
• create a title and an illustration using sample titles and illustrations
• scroll in and out a title in four different ways
• superimpose a title on the video picture
• create a title tor two screens simultaneously

The video sketch titler has two screens to create and scroll titles with. These screens are called PAGE 1 and PAGE 2. Select the screen you want to work on. Each time you press this button, the indicators of PAGE 1 and PAGE 2 light up alternately.

Connecting Video Equipment

Conrtect the titlet to video equipment betöre you start using the titler This section explains two ways to connect video equipment, basic connection and connection using the S vtdeo jacKs.

Video Equipment Used with the Titler

When using the titler, you need the following video equipment for connection:
• a TV or a monitor for creating titles and viewing the video picture
• a VCR or a video camera recorder tor playing the original videotapes (player)
• a VCR for recording the titles and original tapes combined (recorder)

Basic Connection

The following illustration shows the connection of the titler with the video equipment.

Note on Connection

Be sure to turn off the power of the titler and video equipment before connection.

About the ptayer and the recorder

• Connect the red ptug to the audio right jack (red) and the while plug to the audio left jack (white).
• Connect the yellow plug to the video jack (yellow).
• When the player or the recorder is a monaural type, use a monaural A/V connecting cable such as VMC-910MS/920MS (phono plug X 2 - phono plug X 3) (not supplied).
• When both the player and the recorder have the S video jacks, we recommend you to use the S video jacks with optional cables such as YC­15V/30V/15EV/30EV.

Connection Using the S Video Jacks

The loKowing illustration shows the connection of the titler with video equipment that has Ihe S video jacks.
When using the S video lacks When you use either the video input jack or the S video input jack to input the signal from the player,
the signal Is output from both the video output jack and the S video output jack. But to get a clearer picture from the player, we recommend you to use
the S video jacks of fh© player and the recorder when usif>g the S video jacks of the titler, or use the video jacks of the player and the recorder when using the video jacks of the titler.
