Battery packs

Only “InfoLITHIUM” battery pack(s)* NP-FM500H can be used.
You can attach up to two battery pack to this unit simultaneously. You can
use three battery packs in conjunction with the battery pack attached to the
camera. Those are switched automatically.
Other “InfoLITHIUM” battery packs* cannot be used with this unit.

Remove the battery packs from this unit when storing this unit for an extended

Always use a genuine Sony battery pack with this unit. Only charge the battery with

the specied battery charger.

本機のカメラ接続端子やガイドピンに負荷が加わらないように、カメ
ラから本機をまっすぐ取りはずす。

使用後はカメラ接続端子保護のため、本機のトップカバーを元通りにかぶせて

カメラの縦位置グリップ接続端子カバーを元通りに閉じてください。

本機を取りはずしたことをカメラに認識させるため、カメラの電源ス
イッチを

ON

にする。

その後にすぐに使用しない場合は再度カメラの電源を

OFF

にしてください。

本機を取りはずしたことをカメラに認識させないと、カメラ本体内のバッテ

ˎ

リーの消耗が早くなります。

本機のバッテリー交換について

カメラ本体内のバッテリー残量が充分あるときは、カメラの電源を切らずに、本機
内のバッテリートレイを取り出してバッテリー交換を行うことができます。

縦位置での撮影

本機のダイヤルやボタンの操作方法はカメラ本体と同じです。
ご使用の際、お使いのカメラの取扱説明書もご覧ください。
使用するときは、本機の縦位置コントロール

使用中のバッテリー表示マークは、下図のように変化して、バッテリーが消耗する

レンズ使用時の注意

三脚座を備えたレンズを使用するときは、重量のバランスをとるためにレンズ側

正常に動作しないときは、本機をカメラから取りはずし、カメラと本機からすべて
のバッテリーを取りはずしてから、再度バッテリーを取り付けてください。

それでも正常に動作しないときは、下記をご確認ください。

Inserting the battery packs

Battery pack NP-FM500H (1 or 2 required)

NP-FM55H, NP-FM50, NP-FM30, NP-FW50, NP-FH50 are not available with this

ˎ

unit.
Be sure to charge the battery packs with the specied battery charger before use.

ˎ

1 Rotate the battery chamber OPEN/CLOSE knob to “OPEN.”

2 Press up the battery pack stopper (blue) with your nger in the

direction of the arrow as illustrated.

When releasing the lock of the battery pack stopper, be careful to pop up the

ˎ

battery pack tray.

3 Remove the battery pack tray.

4 Attach the battery packs to the battery pack tray according to the

display on the battery pack tray.

When attaching a battery pack, attach it to either side.

ˎ

Do not touch the terminal of the battery pack tray

ˎ 

.

Check that the battery pack is rmly attached on the battery pack tray. (See

ˎ

illustration -4-.)
If the battery pack tray is inserted incorrectly, you cannot push up the battery

ˎ

pack stopper with your nger. In this case, push up the battery pack stopper with
a ne-tipped object such as a pen to remove the battery pack tray.
Attach the battery pack NP-FM500H only to the battery pack tray. Do not attach

ˎ

the other battery packs.
Do not disassemble the battery pack tray.

ˎ

5 Insert the battery pack tray into the original position by pressing

it until it clicks.

Make sure that the battery pack stopper locks the battery pack tray. If the battery

ˎ

pack stopper does not lock properly, the camera may not correctly recognize the
battery pack(s) attached to the battery pack tray.
If you force the battery pack tray into the unit at an angle with no battery pack

ˎ

installed, it will go in partly, but you will damage the unit if you insert it further.
Insert the battery pack tray in the horizontal position to the unit and in right
direction. (See illustration -5-.)

6 Close the battery chamber door and rotate the battery chamber

OPEN/CLOSE knob to “CLOSE.”

Rotate the battery chamber OPEN/CLOSE knob properly to the position as

ˎ

illustrated.



Attaching this unit to the camera

1 Set the POWER switch of the camera to “OFF” and open the vertical

grip connector cover until it is upright.

2 If the battery pack tray is set into this unit, remove it before

removing the top cover.

Li up the top cover while pressing part A in the illustration.

ˎ

3 Attach this unit to the camera.

e camera and this unit are not xed. Hold them rmly with both hands.

ˎ

Align each of the following parts and t them straight.

ˎ

4 Rotate the attachment screw of this unit all the way in the

direction of the arrow so that it is rmly locked.

Periodically check during use that the attachment screw is not loose.

ˎ

5 Insert the battery pack tray with attached battery pack(s) into

this unit. Close the battery chamber door and rotate the battery
chamber OPEN/CLOSE knob to “CLOSE.”

6 Set the POWER switch of the camera to “ON” so that it recognizes

that this unit is attached.

e camera does not recognize this unit unless its power is on.

ˎ

If you do not intend to use the camera soon aer that, turn the power o again.

ˎ

Detaching this unit from the camera

1 Set the POWER switch of the camera to “OFF”.

If the battery pack tray is set in this unit, remove it.

ˎ

2 Rotate the attachment screw in the opposite direction than when

attaching until it clicks.

e camera and this unit are not xed. Hold them rmly with both hands.

ˎ

3 Remove this unit from the camera in a straight direction so that no

load is exerted on the camera connector and the guide pins of this
unit.

Aer use, replace the top cover of this unit to protect the camera connector.

ˎ

Reclose the vertical grip connector cover.

ˎ

4 Set the POWER switch of the camera to “ON” so that it recognizes

that this unit is detached.

If you do not intend to use the camera soon aer that, turn the power o again.

ˎ

e battery pack attached to the camera will run out faster if the camera does not

ˎ

recognize that this unit is detached.

Replacing the battery pack of this unit

If the remaining battery level of the battery pack attached to the camera is sucient,
you can remove the battery pack tray from this unit and replace the battery pack(s)
without turning o the power of the camera.

Shooting vertical images

e operations of the unit’s dials and buttons are same as those for the camera main
body.
When using this unit, also refer to the operating instructions supplied with your
camera.
When using this unit in vertical orientation, set the grip control ON/OFF switch to
“ON.”

e grip control ON/OFF switch switches the dial and button functions ON and

ˎ

OFF.
Regardless of the position of the grip control ON/OFF switch, the camera operating

ˎ

button always operates.
Switch the power ON and OFF with the POWER switch of the camera. e grip

ˎ

control ON/OFF switch can not switch the power ON and OFF.

Remaining battery power indicator

When you insert a battery pack into the camera and insert the two battery packs (NP­FM500H) into this unit, the following indicator is displayed on the LCD monitor or
viewnder of the camera. (display of the SLT-A99V/SLT-A99)

e remaining battery level of the battery pack in use is displayed as a percentage (%).
e mark of the battery pack in use changes as shown below. When the battery pack in
use runs out, the unit automatically switches to the next battery pack.

Notes relating to the lens

When you use a lens for which a tripod socket is provided, attach the lens onto the

tripod using the tripod socket provided to help balance the weight of the lens.

When using this unit attached to the camera with the 70-200mm F2.8G, 300mm

ˎ

F2.8G, 70-400mm F4-5.6G SSM or 500mm F4G SSM lens attached to the tripod-

mounting collar, rotate tripod-mounting collar to the position that allows the grip

to be used.

When using this unit attached to the camera with 70-200mm F2.8G, 70-400mm

ˎ

F4-5.6G SSM or 500mm F4G SSM lens attached to the tripod-mounting collar, the

following lens switches may not operate at the vertical shooting. Before vertical

shooting, set them at the horizontal position.

万一、電池の液漏れが起きたら

すぐに火気より遠ざけてください。漏れた液や気体に引火して発火、破裂の恐

液が目に入った場合は、こすらず、すぐに水道水などきれいな水で充分に洗った

あと、医師の治療を受けてください。

液を口に入れたり、なめた場合は、すぐに水道水で口を洗浄し、医師に相談して

ください。

液が身体や衣服についたときは、水でよく洗い流してください。

万一、使用中に高熱、焦げ臭い、煙が出る等の異常を感じたら、
すみやかに本機およびカメラからバッテリーを抜き、使用を中止
する。

バッテリーについての安全上のご注意

漏液、発熱、発火、破裂などを避けるため、下記のことを必ずお守

指定されたバッテリー以外は使わないでください。

置いてはいけない場所

使用中、保管中にかかわらず、次のような場所に置かないでください。故障の原因
になります。

異常に高温になる場所

ダッシュボードの上など直射日光の当たる場所や、熱器具の近くには置かないで
ください。炎天下や夏場の窓を閉め切った自動車内は特に高温になります。放置
すると変形したり、故障したりすることがあります。
激しい振動のある場所

本機の使用温度範囲は0℃〜40℃です。

急激な温度変化を与えると内部に水滴を生じる危険性があります。

スキー場のような寒い屋外から暖かい室内に持ち込む場合は、屋外でビニール袋
に入れ、袋の中の空気を絞り出して密閉します。その後室内に持ち込み、周囲の温
度になじませてから取り出してくだ

If the camera or this unit does not work correctly, detach this unit from the camera,
remove all the battery packs, and then reattach the battery packs.

If the camera or this unit still does not work correctly, check the following items.

Batteries

Seules des batteries « InfoLITHIUM »* NP-FM500H peuvent être utilisées.
Vous pouvez rattacher jusqu’à deux batteries en même temps à cet accessoire.
Vous pouvez utiliser jusqu’à trois batteries avec la batterie rattachée à
l’appareil photo. Leur commutation est automatique.
Les autres batteries « InfoLITHIUM »* ne peuvent pas être utilisées avec cet
accessoire.

Retirez les batteries de cet accessoire si celui-ci ne doit pas être utilisé pendant

longtemps.
Utilisez toujours une batterie d’alimentation Sony d’origine avec cet accessoire.

Chargez uniquement la batterie avec le chargeur de batterie spécié.

Endroits à éviter pour l’utilisation et le rangement de
l’accessoire

N’utilisez et ne rangez jamais cet accessoire dans des endroits où il risquerait d’être
exposé aux éléments suivants:

Températures extrêmement élevées

ˎ

Ne laissez pas cet accessoire dans un endroit où il peut être exposé aux rayons
directs du soleil. Évitez notamment de le placer sur le tableau de bord d’un véhicule
ou près d’une source de chaleur. L’intérieur d’un véhicule peut devenir extrêmement
chaud si les vitres sont fermées en plein été, ou si le véhicule est exposé aux rayons
directs du soleil. Si vous laissez cet accessoire à l’intérieur d’un véhicule, il risque d’être
déformé ou de ne pas fonctionner correctement.

Cet accessoire est conçu pour une utilisation entre 0 °C et 40 °C (32 °F et 104 °F).

Une augmentation rapide et considérable de la température entraîne la formation

ˎ

de condensation. Par conséquent, si cet accessoire est resté dans un environnement
froid pendant une période prolongée, mettez-le dans un sac plastique fermé et
éliminez autant d’air que possible du sac avant de l’amener à l’intérieur. Lorsque
la température dans le sac a augmenté graduellement jusqu’à la température de
la pièce, vous pouvez retirer l’accessoire du sac en toute sécurité. Cette procédure
permet d’éviter un changement de température trop rapide de l’accessoire,
empêchant ainsi toute formation de condensation.
Lorsqu’il est sale, l’accessoire peut être nettoyé avec un linge propre et sec. Évitez

tout contact entre l’accessoire et de l’alcool ou d’autres produits chimiques.
Enlevez toujours la ou les batteries avant de ranger cet accessoire.

Quand vous attachez un trépied à l’accessoire, utilisez un trépied avec une vis d’une

longueur inférieure à 5,5 mm.
Cet accessoire ne peut pas être xé solidement sur un trépied utilisant une longue
vis. Essayer de le xer sur un tel trépied peut endommager cet accessoire.
Quand vous attachez un trépied à cet accessoire, insérez la vis du trépied à fond dans

la douille de trépied de cet accessoire. Si la vis du trépied n’est pas insérée à fond et
une pression est exercée sur cet accessoire, la vis de trépied peut être endommagée.

Insertion des batteries

Batteries NP-FM500H (1 ou 2 requises)

Les batteries NP-FM55H, NP-FM50, NP-FM30, NP-FW50, NP-FH50 ne peuvent

Avant l’emploi, veillez à charger les batteries à l’aide du chargeur de batterie spécié.

ˎ

1 Tournez le bouton OPEN/CLOSE du compartiment pour batteries

sur « OPEN ».

2 Poussez la butée des batteries (bleue) vers le haut avec le doigt

dans le sens de la èche, de la manière illustrée.

Lorsque vous relâchez le verrou de la butée des batteries, veillez à extraire leur

ˎ

tiroir.

3 Retirez le tiroir des batteries.

4 Installez les batteries dans leur tiroir en vous conformant au

schéma indiqué dans ce dernier.

Lors de l’insertion d’une batterie, xez-la de part et d’autre.

ˎ

Ne touchez pas la borne du tiroir des batteries

ˎ 

.

Vériez que la batterie est solidement installée sur le tiroir des batteries. (Voir

ˎ

illustration -4-.)
Si le tiroir des batteries est inséré incorrectement, vous ne pouvez pas pousser

ˎ

vers le haut la butée des batteries avec le doigt. Dans ce cas, poussez la butée
des batteries en utilisant un objet pointu tel qu’un stylo pour retirer le tiroir des
batteries.
N’insérez que la batterie NP-FM500H dans le tiroir des batteries. N’insérez aucun

ˎ

autre type de batterie.
Ne démontez pas le tiroir des batteries.

ˎ

5 Insérez le tiroir des batteries dans sa position d’origine en

appuyant dessus jusqu’à ce qu’il émette un déclic.

Assurez-vous que la butée de la batterie bloque le tiroir des batteries. Si la butée

ˎ

de la batterie ne se verrouille pas correctement, l’appareil photo peut ne pas
reconnaître correctement la ou les batteries mises dans le plateau pour batterie.
Si vous insérez le tiroir des batteries de façon oblique en forçant alors qu’aucune

ˎ

batterie n’est installée vous pouvez l’insérer partiellement, mais ceci endommagera
l’accessoire si vous insistez.
Insérez le tiroir des batteries dans la position horizontale dans l’accessoire et dans
la bonne direction. (Voir illustration -5-.)

6 Fermez le volet du logement de batteries et mettez son bouton

OPEN/CLOSE en position « CLOSE ».

Tournez le bouton OPEN/CLOSE du logement de batteries pour le mettre à la

ˎ

position illustrée.



Rattachement de cet accessoire à

l’appareil photo

1 Réglez le commutateur POWER de l’appareil photo sur « OFF » et

ouvrez le cache du connecteur de poignée verticale jusqu’à ce qu’il
soit à la verticale.

2 Si le plateau pour batterie est à l’intérieur de cet accessoire,

retirez-le avant d’enlever le couvercle supérieur.

Levez le couvercle supérieur tout en appuyant sur la partie A sur l’illustration.

3 Rattachez cet accessoire à l’appareil photo.

L’appareil photo et cet accessoire ne sont pas xés. Tenez-les bien des deux mains.

Alignez chacune des parties suivantes et insérez-les tout droit.

4 Tournez la vis de xation de cet accessoire entièrement dans le

sens de la èche de sorte qu’elle soit bien bloquée.

Vériez régulièrement en cours d’utilisation que la vis de xation n’est pas

ˎ

desserrée.

5 Insérez le plateau de batterie avec une ou plusieurs batteries dans

cet accessoire. Fermez le volet de logement de batteries et mettez
le bouton OPEN/CLOSE de logement de batteries sur « CLOSE ».

6 Mettez le commutateur POWER de l’appareil photo sur « ON » de

sorte qu’il reconnaisse que cet accessoire est rattaché.

L’appareil photo ne reconnaît cet accessoire que s’il est sous tension.

ˎ

Si vous n’avez pas l’intention d’utiliser tout de suite l’appareil photo, mettez-le

ˎ

hors tension.

Détachement de cet accessoire de l’appareil photo

1 Mettez le commutateur POWER de l’appareil sur « OFF ».

Si le plateau pour batterie est à l’intérieur de cet accessoire, retirez-le.

ˎ

2 Tournez la vis de xation dans le sens opposé du rattachement

jusqu’à ce qu’elle s’encliquette.

L’appareil photo et cet accessoire ne sont pas xés. Tenez-les bien des deux mains.

ˎ

3 Retirez cet accessoire de l’appareil photo tout droit de sorte

qu’aucune force ne soit exercée sur le connecteur d’appareil photo
et les goupilles de guidage de cet accessoire.

Après l’emploi, remettez le couvercle supérieur de cet accessoire pour protéger le

ˎ

connecteur d’appareil photo.
Refermez le cache du connecteur de poignée verticale.

ˎ

4 Mettez le commutateur POWER de l’appareil photo sur « ON » de

sorte qu’il reconnaisse que cet accessoire est détaché.

Si vous n’avez pas l’intention d’utiliser tout de suite l’appareil photo, mettez-le

ˎ

hors tension.
La batterie rattachée à l’appareil photo se videra plus rapidement si l’appareil

ˎ

photo ne reconnaît pas que cet accessoire est détaché.

Remplacement de la batterie de cet
accessoire

Si le niveau de charge de la batterie rattachée à l’appareil photo est susant, vous
pouvez retirer le plateau pour batterie de cet accessoire et remplacer une ou plusieurs
batteries sans mettre l’appareil photo hors tension.

Enregistrement d’images verticales

Les fonctions des molettes et des touches de l’accessoire sont identiques à celles du
corps principal de l’appareil photo.
Lors de l’utilisation de cet accessoire, reportez-vous aussi au mode d’emploi fourni avec
votre appareil photo.
Si vous utilisez cet accessoire en orientation verticale, réglez le commutateur ON/OFF
de la commande de la poignée sur « ON ».

Si vous utilisez cet accessoire rattaché à l’appareil photo muni d’un objectif 70-

au collier de montage du trépied, faites tourner le collier de montage du trépied
dans une position qui permet d’utiliser la poignée.
Si vous utilisez cet accessoire rattaché à l’appareil photo muni d’un objectif 70-

200mm F2.8G, 70-400mm F4-5.6G SSM ou 500mm F4G SSM xé au collier de
montage du trépied, il se peut que les commutateurs d’objectif suivants ne puissent
pas être utilisés pour une prise de vue verticale. Réglez-les en position horizontale
puis faites la prise de vue en position verticale.

Ubicaciones que deben evitarse para la utilización y
almacenamiento de la unidad

Esta unidad ha sido diseñada para utilizarse de 0 °C a 40 °C

Los aumentos de temperatura repentinos y excesivos provocan la formación

de condensación. Por lo tanto, selle la unidad dentro de una bolsa de plástico y
absorba el máximo posible de aire de su interior antes de trasladarla a un lugar
cálido después de haber estado expuesta a bajas temperaturas durante mucho
tiempo. Cuando la temperatura de la bolsa ascienda para adaptarse gradualmente
a la temperatura ambiente, podrá extraer la unidad de la bolsa con seguridad. Este

Inserción de las baterías

Batería NP-FM500H (se requieren 1 o 2)

Las baterías NP-FM55H, NP-FM50, NP-FM30, NP-FW50, y NP-FH50 no pueden

ˎ

utilizarse con esta unidad.
Asegúrese de cargar las baterías con el cargador de baterías especicado antes de

ˎ

utilizarlas.

1 Gire el selector OPEN/CLOSE del compartimiento de las baterías

hacia la posición “OPEN”.

2 Presione el tope de baterías (azul) con el dedo en el sentido de la

echa como se indica en la ilustración.

Cuando libere el bloqueo del tope de baterías, procure que no se expulse la

ˎ

bandeja de las baterías.

3 Retire la bandeja de las baterías.

4 Coloque las baterías en la bandeja de las baterías según las

indicaciones de la bandeja.

Cuando coloque una batería, instálela en cualquiera de los dos lados.

No toque el terminal de la bandeja de las baterías

Compruebe que las baterías estén rmemente instaladas en la bandeja de las

ˎ

baterías. (Consulte la ilustración -4-.)
Si inserta incorrectamente las baterías, no podrá levantar el tope de baterías con

ˎ

el dedo. En este caso, levante el tope de baterías con un objeto puntiagudo como
un bolígrafo para extraer la bandeja de las baterías.
Sólo debe instalar baterías NP-FM500H en la bandeja de las baterías. No coloque

ˎ

otros modelos.
No desmonte la bandeja de las baterías.

ˎ

5 Inserte la bandeja de las baterías en la posición original

presionándola hasta que encaje.

Asegúrese de que el tope de baterías haya bloqueado la bandeja de las baterías. Si

ˎ

el tope de baterías no está correctamente bloqueado, es posible que la cámara no
reconozca adecuadamente la(s) batería(s) de la bandeja de las baterías.
Si fuerza la bandeja de las baterías con cierto ángulo cuando no haya baterías

ˎ

instaladas, podrá insertarla parcialmente, pero dañará la unidad si la inserta más.
Inserte la bandeja de las baterías en posición horizontal con respecto a la unidad
y en la dirección correcta. (Consulte la ilustración -5-.)

6 Cierre la tapa del compartimiento de las baterías y gire el selector

OPEN/CLOSE del compartimiento de las baterías hasta “CLOSE”.

Gire el selector OPEN/CLOSE del compartimiento de las baterías correctamente

ˎ

hacia la posición indicada en la ilustración.



Fijación de esta unidad a la cámara

1 Ponga el selector POWER de la cámara en “OFF” y abra la tapa del

conector del mango vertical hasta que quede erguida.

2 Si la bandeja de las baterías está instalada en esta unidad, retírela

antes de retirar la tapa superior.

Levante la tapa superior mientras presione la parte A mostrada en la ilustración.

3 Fije esta unidad a la cámara.

La cámara y esta unidad no están jadas. Sujételas rmemente con ambas manos.

Alinee cada una de las partes siguientes y fíjelas en línea recta.

4 Gire completamente el tornillo de jación de esta unidad en el

sentido de la echa de forma que quede rmemente bloqueado.

Durante la utilización, compruebe periódicamente que el tornillo de jación no

esté ojo.

5 Inserte la bandeja de las baterías, con la(s) batería(s) instalada(s),

en esta unidad. Cierre la tapa del compartimiento de las baterías
y gire el selector OPEN/CLOSE del compartimiento de las baterías
hasta “CLOSE.”

6 Ponga el selector POWER de la cámara en “ON” para que reconozca

que esta unidad está instalada.

La cámara no reconocerá esta unidad a menos que se conecte su alimentación.

Si no va a utilizar la cámara inmediatamente después de esto, desconecte de

ˎ

nuevo la alimentación.

Desinstalación de esta unidad de la cámara

1 Ponga el selector POWER de la cámara en “OFF”.

Si la bandeja de las baterías está instalada en esta unidad, retírela.

2 Gire el tornillo de jación en sentido opuesto al de instalación

hasta que chasquee.

La cámara y esta unidad no están jadas. Sujételas rmemente con ambas manos.

Reemplazo de la batería de esta unidad

Si el nivel de batería restante de la batería instalada en la cámara es suciente, podrá
retirar la bandeja de las baterías de esta unidad y reemplazar la(s) batería(s) sin
desconectar la alimentación de la cámara.

Toma de imágenes verticales

Las operaciones de los mandos y botones de la unidad son las mismas que permiten
realizar los del cuerpo de la cámara.
Cuando utilice esta unidad, consulte también el manual de instrucciones suministrado
con su cámara.
Si utiliza esta unidad en posición vertical, ajuste el interruptor ON/OFF de control del
mango en la posición “ON”.

El selector ON/OFF de control del mango permite activar (ON) y desactivar (OFF)

ˎ

las funciones de los mandos y los botones.
Independientemente de la posición de interruptor ON/OFF de control del mango,

ˎ

el botón de operación de la cámara siempre funciona.
Conecte (ON) y desconecte (OFF) la alimentación con el selector POWER de la

cámara. El selector ON/OFF de control del mango no puede conectar (ON) ni
desconectar (OFF) la alimentación.
