Flexibility

The VAIO® BX Series Notebook is available in an array of display sizes (14" standard, 15.4" wide, and 17" wide)13, allowing you the flexibility to select the combination of mobility and productivity that suits your specific needs. All sizes of the VAIO® BX Notebook feature the unique and powerful Multi-Function Bay, enabling simple swapping out of powerful peripherals, such as a DVD+R Double Layer/DVD±RW Drive7 Bay Unit, CD-RW/DVD-ROM Drive Bay Unit, 80GB12 HDD Bay Unit (5400rpm SATA), Weight Saver Bay Unit, and an HDD Adapter Bay Unit. Each of these optional peripherals can be utilized in the docking station and is compatible with all three size configurations of the BX Series Notebook, making efficient resource allocation across your team a logical and natural part of your technology management.

Multi-Function Bay

Enables simple swapping out of powerful peripherals, such as a DVD±RW Double Layer Bay Unit, CD-RW/DVD-ROM Drive7 Bay Unit, 80GB12 HDD Bay Unit (5400rpm SATA), Weight Saver Bay Unit, and an HDD Adapter Bay Unit.

Multi-Bay Docking Station With a second battery recharging feature, Sony delivers a smart peripheral that saves time, maximizes efficiency in power management and can be used with all sizes of the VAIO BX notebook. Ports include 4 USB 2.0, Ethernet, serial, parallel, VGA and DVI-D, and is also equipped with the multi-function bay for swappable bay units and a PC lock.

Security

Security is a top priority with the VAIO® BX Series Notebook. All BX Series Notebooks feature an integrated biometric fingerprint sensor, delivering personal security and the IT cost-savings and convenience of not having to remember your passwords. The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip is compliant with TCG v1.1b and enables companies to set the level of security on a specific client/user basis. Data can be encrypted over the local network, within the system and over the Internet, giving you the ability, with a single platform, to dial in the specific level of client security required.

Biometric Fingerprint Sensor

Fingerprint biometrics is a simple and secure way to protect critical computer information and enable secure online services and other Internet applications. The integrated biometric fingerprint sensor in the VAIO® BX Series Notebook ensures controlled access to your computer – the most convenient means of protecting your critical data.

HDD Password

Password-protection at the hard disk drive level can prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data, applications and network architecture. HDD Password Protection encrypts and protects disks, partitions, and removable media.

Trusted Platform Module (TPM)

Sony knows how important security is to your business. The VAIO® BX Series Notebook features an integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) TCG Ver.1.1b Compliant chip, allowing you to control access on a specific client/user basis. The TPM is a hardware-based

solution that secures your data’s confidentiality when it is most vulnerable.

Cisco™ V3 Compliant15

The Sony VAIO BX Series Notebook has been tested in accordance with test criteria set by Cisco and is compatible with Cisco's Aironet 1200AG Series Access Point platform and Cisco's Access Control Server v3.3.
