Removing the protective cover from your CLIÉ handheld
Using a twisting action, remove the protective cover from one side of the hinge
joint, and then completely remove.

Attaching the protective cover to your CLIÉ handheld
Insert one side of the hinge (as illustrated), and then insert the other side. Open
the protective cover once to ensure correct attachment.

• Be careful not to break the hinge joints of your CLIÉ handheld when you remove the
protective cover.
• You may need to remove the protective cover from your CLIÉ handheld when you use
certain accessories inserted in the “Memory Stick” slot, due to their size.

The LED indicator of your CLIÉ handheld turns on and the icon

It takes about four hours for your CLIÉ handheld to be fully charged for the first time.
The LED indicator of your CLIÉ handheld turns off when charging is complete. The
icon will be displayed when you disconnect the AC power adapter from the wall
outlet.

Subsequent charges will require less time if you charge your CLIÉ handheld frequently.

• If the battery of your CLIÉ handheld is fully discharged, all data stored on the memory
in your CLIÉ handheld will be lost.
• While charging your CLIÉ handheld, do not connect external devices, such as a
computer, to the headphone jack of your CLIÉ handheld, as a malfunction may occur.

Step 2: Performing the initial settings of
your Sony CLIÉ™ handheld
The first time you turn on your CLIÉ handheld, you are required to make initial
settings. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the initial settings and
to get accustomed to operations on your CLIÉ handheld.

the internal circuitry of your CLIÉ handheld with its touch-sensitive screen
