Block Noise Reduction The video compression used on DVDs
can sometimes produce “block noise”—a mosaic-like effect that
turns shaded areas of a picture into solid blocks. Sony’s advanced
Block Noise Reduction smoothes out these blocks, giving you a
picture with improved shading and a more life-like image.
