Use

[ Power Sources

This set should be operated only from the type of
power source indicated on the marking label. If
you are not sure of the type of electrical power
supplied to your home, consult your dealer or
local power company. For those sets designed to
operate from battery power, or other sources, refer
to the operating instructions.

[ Polarization

This set may be equipped with a polarized ac
power cord plug (a plug having one blade wider
than the other).

This plug will fit into the power outlet only one
way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to
insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing
the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact
your electrician to have a suitable outlet installed.
Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized
plug by forcing it in.

[ Overloading

Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords or
convenience receptacles beyond their capacity,
since this can result in fire or electric shock.

[ Object and Liquid Entry

Never push objects of any kind into the set
through openings as they may touch dangerous
voltage points or short out parts that could result
in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any
kind on the set.

[ Attachments

Do not use attachments not recommended by the
manufacturer, as they may cause hazards.

[ Cleaning

Unplug the set from the wall outlet before
cleaning or polishing it. Do not use liquid cleaners
or aerosol cleaners. Use a cloth lightly dampened
with water for cleaning the exterior of the set.

Installation

[ Water and Moisture

Do not use power-line operated sets near water –
for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen
sink, or laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a
swimming pool, etc.

[ Power-Cord Protection

Route the power cord so that it is not likely to be
walked on or pinched by items placed upon or
against them, paying particular attention to the
plugs, receptacles, and the point where the cord
exits from the appliance.

[ Accessories

Do not place the set on an unstable cart, stand,
tripod, bracket, or table. The set may fall, causing
serious injury to a child or an adult, and serious
damage to the set. Use only a cart, stand, tripod,
bracket, or table recommended by the
manufacturer.

[ Ventilation

The slots and openings in the cabinet are provided
for necessary ventilation. To ensure reliable
operation of the set, and to protect it from
overheating, these slots and openings must never
be blocked or covered.

–Never cover the slots and openings with a cloth

or other materials.

–Never block the slots and openings by placing

the set on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar
surface.

–Never place the set in a confined space, such as a

bookcase, or built-in cabinet, unless proper
ventilation is provided.

–Do not place the set near or over a radiator or

heat register, or where it is exposed to direct
sunlight.

[ Lightning

For added protection for this set during a lightning
storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for

long periods of time, unplug it from the wall
outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system.
This will prevent damage to the set due to
lightning and power-line surges.

Service

[ Damage Requiring Service

Unplug the set from the wall outlet and refer
servicing to qualified service personnel under the
following conditions:

–When the power cord or plug is damaged or

frayed.

–If liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen

into the set.
–If the set has been exposed to rain or water.
–If the set has been subject to excessive shock by

being dropped, or the cabinet has been damaged.
–If the set does not operate normally when

following the operating instructions. Adjust only

those controls that are specified in the operating

instructions. Improper adjustment of other

controls may result in damage and will often

require extensive work by a qualified technician

to restore the set to normal operation.
–When the set exhibits a distinct change in

performance – this indicates a need for service.

[ Servicing

Do not attempt to service the set yourself as
opening or removing covers may expose you to
dangerous voltage or other hazards.

Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

[ Replacement parts

When replacement parts are required, be sure the
service technician has used replacement parts
specified by the manufacturer that have the same
characteristics as the original parts.

Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire,
electric shock, or other hazards.

[ Safety Check

Upon completion of any service or repairs to the
set, ask the service technician to perform routine
safety checks (as specified by the manufacturer)
to determine that the set is in safe operating
condition.

Notes on using your camera

[ Internal memory and “Memory

Stick Duo” back up

Do not turn off the camera or remove the battery
pack or “Memory Stick Duo” while the access
lamp is lighted, as the internal memory data or
“Memory Stick Duo” data may be destroyed.
Always protect your data by making a back up
copy.

[ Notes on recording/playback

• Before you record one-time events, make a trial
recording to make sure that the camera is
working correctly.

• This camera is neither dust-proof, nor splash­proof, nor water-proof. Read “Precautions”
(page 37) before operating the camera.

• Be careful not to get the camera wet. Water
entering the inside of the camera may cause
malfunctions which in some cases may not be
repairable.

• Do not aim the camera at the sun or other bright
light. It may cause the malfunction of your
camera.

• Do not use the camera near a location that
generates strong radio waves or emits radiation.
The camera may not be able to record or play
back properly.

• Using the camera in sandy or dusty locations
may cause malfunctions.

• If moisture condensation occurs, remove it
before using the camera (page 37).

• Do not shake or strike the camera. In addition to
malfunctions and an inability to record images,
this may render the recording medium unusable,
or cause image data breakdown, damage or loss.

• Clean the flash surface before use. The heat of
flash emission may cause dirt on the flash
surface to become discolored or to stick to the
flash surface, resulting in insufficient light
emission.

[ Notes on the LCD screen

• The LCD screen is manufactured using
extremely high-precision technology so over

99.99% of the pixels are operational for
effective use. However, there may be some tiny
black points and/or bright points (white, red,
blue or green in color) that constantly appear on
the LCD screen. These points are normal in the
manufacturing process and do not affect the
recording in any way.

[ On image data compatibility

• This camera conforms with DCF (Design rule
for Camera File system) universal standard
established by JEITA (Japan Electronics and
Information Technology Industries
Association).

• Playback of images recorded with your camera
on other equipment and playback of images
recorded or edited with other equipment on your
camera are not guaranteed.

[ Warning on copyright

Television programs, films, videotapes, and other
materials may be copyrighted. Unauthorized
recording of such materials may be contrary to the
provisions of the copyright laws.

[ When recording in a “Memory Stick Duo” (not supplied)

You can also record images in a “Memory Stick Duo” (not supplied) instead of the internal
memory.

Insert the “Memory Stick Duo”
with the terminal side facing as
illustrated.

Push the “Memory Stick Duo” in once to remove the “Memory Stick Duo”.

• Never remove the “Memory Stick Duo” when the access lamp is lit. The data may be

corrupted.

• When the [Default Media] is set to [Internal Memory] via the home screen, the images are

recorded in the internal memory, although the “Memory Stick Duo” is being inserted
(page 24).

1Connect the cable of the AC Adaptor (supplied) to the DC IN jack of the

Cyber-shot Station (supplied).

2Connect the power cord (mains lead) to the AC Adaptor and plug the adaptor

into the wall outlet (wall socket).

3Attach the camera on the Cyber-shot Station.

The CHG lamp lights on, and charging starts.
When the CHG lamp turns off, charging is finished (Full charge).

[ Charging time

• Time required to charge a fully depleted battery pack (supplied) at a temperature of 25°C (77°F). Charging
may take longer under certain circumstances or conditions.

• For details on battery usable time, see page 33.

• Even if the CHG lamp is not lit, the camera is not disconnected from the AC power source (mains) as long
as it is connected to the wall outlet (wall socket). If any trouble occurs while using the adaptor,
immediately shut off the power by disconnecting the plug from the wall outlet (wall socket).

• Do not use the AC Adaptor placed in a narrow space, such as between a wall and furniture.

• If you do not operate the camera for a long time, disconnect the AC Adaptor both from the DC IN jack of
the Cyber-shot Station and from a wall outlet (wall socket).

• Use a commercially available AC plug adaptor, if necessary, depending on the design of the wall outlet.

[ To check the remaining battery time

Open the lens cover or press the POWER button to turn on and check the time on the LCD
screen. When the remaining battery time is not indicated, switch the display by pressing the
DISP (Screen display switch) button.

• It takes about one minute until the correct battery

• Only is indicated, depending on a mode.

• The displayed time remaining may not be correct under
certain circumstances.

[ To change the date and time

Press the HOME button, and select [ Settings] t [ Clock Set] (page 25).

[ When you turn on the power

• If the camera is running on battery power and you do not operate the camera for about three

minutes, the camera turns off automatically to prevent wearing down the battery pack (Auto
power-off function).

4 Connecting the camera with your computer

If you use the software contained in the CD-ROM (supplied), you can display images shot
with the camera on the computer. For details, refer to “Cyber-shot Handbook.”

Connect the USB cable to the (USB) jack of the Cyber-shot Station and the
USB jack of a computer and then press the CONNECT button.

Viewing “Cyber-shot Handbook”

[ For Windows users

1 Turn on your computer, and insert the CD-

ROM (supplied) into the CD-ROM drive.

The screen below appears.

When you click the [Cyber-shot Handbook]
button, the screen for copying “Cyber-shot
Handbook” appears. Follow the on-screen
instructions to copy.

2 After the installation is complete, double-

click the shortcut created on the desktop.

[ For Macintosh users

1 Turn on your computer, and insert the CD-

ROM (supplied) into the CD-ROM drive.

Select the “Handbook” folder and copy
“Handbook.pdf” stored in the “GB” folder to
your computer.

2 After copying is complete, double-click

“Handbook.pdf.”

Installing the software

Supported Operating Systems for “Album Editor”, “Picture Motion
Browser”

Windows 2000 Professional (SP4 or later required), Windows XP Home Edition or Windows
XP Professional

• Must be installed with above OS at delivery.

• The “Album Editor” and “Picture Motion Browser” are not compatible with Macintosh computers.

• For further details on the operating environment of “Album Editor” and “Picture Motion Browser,” refer
to “Cyber-shot Handbook.”

1 Turn on your computer, and insert the CD-

ROM (supplied) into the CD-ROM drive.

The screen below appears.

When you click the [Install] button, the
“Choose Setup Language” screen appears.

2 Follow the instructions on the screen to

complete the installation.

3 After the installation is complete, double-

click the shortcut created on the desktop.

1Open the lens cover by sliding the OPEN (CAMERA) lever.

Open until it clicks.

2Select a mode with the / (Movie/Photo) button.

Each time you press the / (Movie/Photo) button, the mode changes between Movie and Photo.

3Hold the camera steady, keeping your arm at your side.

Position the subject
in the center of the
LCD screen.

4Shoot with the shutter button.

Aside from an Original Image, a small size Album Image is recorded in the internal memory.

Still image:

1 Press and hold the shutter button halfway down to focus.

The z (AE/AF lock) indicator (green) flashes, a beep sounds, the indicator stops flashing and remains lit.

2 Press the shutter button fully down.

The shutter sounds.

Press the shutter button fully down.
To stop recording, press the shutter button fully down again.

[ Using the zoom

Press the zoom button.

• When the zoom scale exceeds 3×, the camera

uses the Digital Zoom function.

[ Flash (Selecting a flash mode

for still images)

Press the (Flash) button repeatedly until
the desired mode is selected.

: Flash Auto

Strobes when there is insufficient light or
backlight (default setting)

The shutter speed is slow in a dark place to
clearly shoot the background that is out of
flash light.

[ Macro/Magnifying Glass

Press the (Macro/Magnifying Glass)
button repeatedly until the desired mode is
selected.

: Macro on (W side: Approx. 8 cm or farther

farther (9 7/8 inches or farther))

[ Using the self-timer

Press the (Self-timer) button repeatedly
until the desired mode is selected.

: Not using the self-timer

: Setting the 10-second delay self-timer

: Setting the 2-second delay self-timer

Press the shutter button, the self-timer lamp
flashes, and a beep sounds until the shutter
operates.

[ To change the image size

Press the (Image Size) button, then
select the size using the control button.

Using the wireless LAN

The camera is compliant with the DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) to connect with a
DLNA-enabled device via wireless LAN.

Exchanging images among the DSC-G1s

Directly establishes a connection among the DSC-G1s without an access point (Ad-hoc
mode).

Pressing the WLAN buttons on the devices simultaneously establishes the wireless network.

Collaboration Shot

An image captured with this camera can automatically be sent to other cameras connected via
WLAN (Wireless network). Up to four cameras can share the image.

Picture Gift

You can exchange an image stored on this camera with another cameras connected via WLAN
(Wireless network).
When the user granting access selects an image to be sent, the device on the receiving side
displays the image in the index display area.

Making your images public via an access point

Connects to a network via an access point (Infrastructure mode).
The camera is compliant with the DLNA1.0 standards. With a DLNA-enable TV set, you can
view images stored in the camera via an access point, without connecting the devices via an A/
V cable.

Listening to music

You can play back MP3 files stored in the “MUSIC” folder in the internal memory.

Importing music files

This section describes an example of importing music files to the “My Music” folder.

1 Connect the camera to a computer, and then press CONNECT.
2 Click [Start] t [My Music].

The contents of the “My Music” folder are displayed.

3 Right-click the desired music file, then click [Copy].
4 Double-click [My Computer] t [Removable Disk] t [MUSIC]. Then, right-click on the

“My Music” window to display the menu and click [Paste].
The music file is imported to the “MUSIC” folder.

• Note that this camera does not support ATRAC3 and ATRAC3plus formats. This camera supports
only MP3 format files.

Playing back music

1 Press HOME to display the home screen.

• When images recorded using earlier Sony models are played back on this camera, the display may differ
from the actual image size.

• When measuring media capacity, 1 GB equals 1 billion bytes, a portion of which is used for data
management.

• The size restriction of a movie is about 2 GB. When the size of a movie reaches 2 GB, the recording
automatically stops.

Troubleshooting

If you experience trouble with your camera, try the following solutions.

1 Check the items below, and refer to “Cyber-shot Handbook.”

If a code such as “C/E:ss:ss” appears on the screen, refer to “Cyber-shot
Handbook.”

2 Remove the battery pack, and insert the battery pack again after about one

minute, and turn on the power.

3 Open the lens cover, and press the RESET button

located on the bottom using a fine-tipped object, and
turn on the power.

If you do the operation above, the date and time setting is
cleared.

4 Consult your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility.

Please understand that you give your consent that the contents of the internal memory, Music
files may be checked when you send your camera to be repaired.

Battery pack and power

The battery pack cannot be installed.

• Install the battery pack correctly using the tip of the battery pack to push the battery eject lever

(page 11).

Cannot turn on the camera.

• Install the battery pack correctly (page 11).

• The battery pack is discharged. Install charged battery pack (page 13).

• The battery pack is dead. Replace it with a new one.

• Use a recommended battery pack (page 10).

• The lens cover is not fully opened. Open the cover until it clicks.

The power turns off suddenly.

• If you do not operate the camera for about three minutes while the power is on, the camera

turns off automatically to prevent wearing down the battery pack. Turn on the camera again
(page 15).

• The battery pack is dead. Replace it with a new one.

The battery remaining indicator is incorrect.

• This phenomenon occurs when you use the camera in an extremely hot or cold location.

• The displayed battery remaining differs from the current one. Fully discharge and then charge

the battery pack to correct the display.

• The battery pack is discharged. Install the charged battery pack (page 13).

• The battery pack is dead. Replace it with a new one.

Shooting still images/movies

Your camera cannot record images.

• Check the free capacity of the internal memory or “Memory Stick Duo” (page 34). If it is full,

do one of the following:

– Delete unnecessary images (page 20).
– Change the “Memory Stick Duo”.

• When the free capacity of the internal memory is not sufficient, you cannot record images

even if the “Memory Stick Duo” has enough capacity. This is because the camera records an
Album Image to the internal memory at the same time. Delete unnecessay images.

• You are using the “Memory Stick Duo” with the write-protect switch, and the switch is set to

the LOCK position. Set the switch to the recording position.

• You cannot record images while charging the flash.

• The selection of the Movie/Photo mode is not correct. Set the mode using the /

(Movie/Photo) button.

Cannot insert dates on images.

• This camera does not have a feature for superimposing dates on images. However, you can

print images with the date superimposed.

Viewing images

Your camera cannot play back images.

• There is not its Album Image because you imported the image from a computer to the camera

with the Mass Storage connection. Perform [Scan Images] (page 24).

• The folder/file name has been changed on your computer. Performe [Scan Images] (page 24).

• When an image file has been processed by a computer or when the image file was recorded

using a model other than that of your camera, playback on your camera is not guaranteed.

• The camera is in USB mode. Delete the USB connection.

Precautions

[ Do not use/store the camera in

the following places

• In an extremely hot, cold or humid place
In places such as in a car parked in the sun, the

camera body may become deformed and this
may cause a malfunction.

• Under direct sunlight or near a heater
The camera body may become discolored or

deformed, and this may cause a malfunction.

• In a location subject to rocking vibration

• Near strong magnetic place

• In sandy or dusty places
Be careful not to let sand or dust get into the

camera. This may cause the camera to
malfunction, and in some cases this malfunction
cannot be repaired.

[ On carrying

Do not sit down in a chair or other place with the
camera in the back pocket of your trousers or
skirt, as this may cause malfunction or damage the
camera.

[ On cleaning

Cleaning the LCD screen

Wipe the screen surface with an LCD cleaning kit
(not supplied) to remove fingerprints, dust, etc.

Cleaning the lens

Wipe the lens with a soft cloth to remove
fingerprints, dust, etc.

Cleaning the camera surface

Clean the camera surface with a soft cloth slightly
moistened with water, then wipe the surface with
a dry cloth. Do not use the following as they may
damage the finish or the casing.

• Chemical products such as thinner, benzine,

alcohol, disposable cloths, insect repellent,
sunscreen or insecticide, etc.

• Do not touch the camera with the above on your

hand.

• Do not leave the camera in contact with rubber

or vinyl for a long time.

[ On operating temperatures

Your camera is designed for use under the
temperatures between 0°C and 40°C (32°F and
104°F). Shooting in extremely cold or hot places
that exceed this range is not recommended.

[ On moisture condensation

If the camera is brought directly from a cold to a
warm location, moisture may condense inside or
outside the camera. This moisture condensation
may cause a malfunction of the camera.

If moisture condensation occurs

Turn off the camera and wait about an hour for the
moisture to evaporate. Note that if you attempt to
shoot with moisture remaining inside the lens, you
will be unable to record clear images.

[ On the internal rechargeable

backup battery

This camera has an internal rechargeable battery
for maintaining the date and time and other
settings regardless of whether the power is on or
off.

This rechargeable battery is continually charged
as long as you are using the camera. However, if
you use the camera for only short periods, it
discharges gradually, and if you do not use the
camera at all for about one month it becomes
completely discharged. In this case, be sure to
charge this rechargeable battery before using the
camera.

However, even if this rechargeable battery is not
charged, you can still use the camera as long as
you do not record the date and time.

Charging method of the internal

Insert charged battery pack in the camera, or
connect the camera to a wall outlet (wall socket)
using the AC Adaptor and the Cyber-shot Station,
and leave the camera for 24 hours or more with

[ Copia de seguridad de la

memoria interna y del “Memory
Stick Duo”

No apague la cámara ni extraiga la batería o el
“Memory Stick Duo” mientras está encendida la
lámpara de acceso porque podrá destruir los datos
de la memoria interna o del “Memory Stick Duo”.
Proteja siempre sus datos haciendo una copia de

[ Notas sobre la grabación/

reproducción

• Antes de grabar acontecimientos únicos, realice
una grabación de prueba para asegurarse de que
la cámara funciona correctamente.

• Esta cámara no está hecha a prueba de polvo, ni

• No agite ni golpee la cámara. Además de
producirse un mal funcionamiento y no poder
grabar imágenes, es posible que el soporte de
grabación quede inutilizable o que los datos de
las imágenes se estropeen, se dañen o se
pierdan.

• Limpie la superficie del flash antes de utilizarlo.
El calor de la emisión del flash podrá hacer que
la suciedad en la superficie del flash se
descolore o se adhiera en ella, ocasionando una
insuficiente emisión de luz.

[ Notas sobre la pantalla LCD

• La pantalla LCD está fabricada utilizando
tecnología de muy alta precisión por lo que más
del 99,99% de los píxeles son operativos para
uso efectivo. Sin embargo, es posible que haya
algunos puntos diminutos negros y/o brillantes
(de color blanco, rojo, azul o verde) que
aparezcan constantemente en la pantalla LCD.
Estos puntos son normales en el proceso de
fabricación y no afectan en absoluto a la imagen
grabada.

los datos de imagen

• Esta cámara cumple con la norma universal
DCF (Design rule for Camera File system)
establecida por JEITA (Japan Electronics and

• La reproducción en otros equipos de imágenes

4 Conexión de la cámara a su ordenador

Si utiliza el software que contiene el CD-ROM (suministrado), podrá visualizar imágenes

“Album Editor”

Con el “Album Editor” suministrado, puede
utilizar un ordenador para buscar imágenes
fácilmente o para editar los ajustes del
álbum y las propiedades de las imágenes
almacenadas en la cámara.

Con el “Album Editor” puede:

• Poner nombre a un álbum

• Combinar o dividir un álbum

• Comentar las imágenes

• Editar las propiedades de una imagen o de un
álbum

• Copiar imágenes de la cámara a un ordenador

• Copiar imágenes de un ordenador a la cámara

• Añadir información de búsqueda

• Hacer copia de seguridad de todos los datos
almacenados en la cámara
Se recomienda hacer regularmente una copia de
seguridad de los datos almacenados en la cámara
para en caso de borrarlos accidentalmente.

“Picture Motion Browser”

Ahora más que nunca podrá utilizar
imágenes fijas y películas de la cámara
aprovechando las ventajas del software.

Con el “Picture Motion Browser” puede:

• Organizar imágenes del ordenador en un
calendario mediante la fecha de toma para
verlas.

• Retocar, imprimir y enviar imágenes fijas
adjuntándolas a correo electrónico, cambiar la
fecha de la toma, y más.

Para acceder a Help (Ayuda), haga clic en

Utilización de la LAN inalámbrica

La cámara cumple con la norma DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) para conectarla con
un dispositivo habilitado para DLNA por medio de una LAN inalámbrica.

Intercambio de imágenes entre los DSC-G1

Se establece una conexión directamente entre los DSC-G1 sin un punto de acceso (Modo Ad­hoc).

Al pulsar los botones WLAN de los dispositivos simultáneamente se establece la red
inalámbrica.

Collaboration Shot

Una imagen capturada con esta cámara puede ser enviada automáticamente a otras cámaras
conectadas por medio de una WLAN (Red inalámbrica). Hasta cuatro cámaras pueden
compartir la imagen.

Picture Gift

Puede intercambiar una imagen almacenada en esta cámara con otras cámaras conectadas por
medio de WLAN (Red inalámbrica).
Cuando el usuario que otorga el acceso selecciona una imagen que quiere enviar, el dispositivo
del lado de recepción muestra la imagen en el área de visualización de índice.

Para hacer pública su imagen por medio de un punto de acceso

Conecta a una red por medio de un punto de acceso (Modo Infraestructura).
La cámara cumple con las normas DLNA1,0. Con un televisor habilitado para DLNA, podrá
ver las imágenes almacenadas en esta cámara por medio de un punto de acceso, sin conectar
los dispositivos por medio de un cable de A/V.

Escucha de música

Puede reproducir archivos MP3 almacenados en la carpeta “MUSIC” de la memoria interna.

Importación de archivos de música

Esta sección describe un ejemplo de importación de archivos de música a la carpeta “My Music”.

1 Conecte la cámara a un ordenador, y después pulse CONNECT.
2 Haga clic en [Start] (Inicio) t [My Music] (Mi música).

Se visualiza el contenido de la carpeta “My Music” (Mi música).

3 Haga clic en el archivo de música deseado con el botón derecho del ratón, después haga clic

en [Copy] (Copiar).

4 Haga doble clic en [My Computer] t [Removable Disk] t [MUSIC]. Después, haga clic

con el botón derecho del ratón en la ventana “My Music” (Mi música) para visualizar el
menú y haga clic en [Paste] (Pegar).
El archivo de música se importa a la carpeta “MUSIC”.

• Tenga en cuenta que esta cámara no es compatible con los formatos ATRAC3 y ATRAC3plus. Esta
cámara es compatible con archivos de formato MP3 solamente.

porción se utiliza para gestionar los datos.

• La restricción de tamaño de una película es de unos 2 GB
Cuando el tamaño de una película llegue a 2 GB la grabación se detendrá automáticamente.

Solución de problemas

Si encuentra problemas con su cámara, pruebe las siguientes soluciones.

1

Compruebe los elementos de abajo, y consulte la “Guía práctica de Cyber-shot”.

Si aparece un código tal como “C/E:ss:ss” en la pantalla, consulte la “Guía
práctica de Cyber-shot”.

2 Extraiga la batería, vuelva a insertarla después de un min (minuto)

aproximadamente y conecte la alimentación.

3 Abra la tapa del objetivo, y pulse el botón RESET

ubicado en la parte inferior utilizando un objeto de
punta fina, y conecte la alimentación.

Si realiza la operación de arriba, se borrarán los ajustes de
fecha y hora.

4 Consulte con el distribuidor Sony o con la oficina de servicio local autorizada

de Sony.

Le rogamos que entienda que usted da su consentimiento para que el contenido de la memoria
interna y los archivos de música puedan ser comprobados cuando envía la cámara para
repararla.

Batería y alimentación

No se puede instalar la batería.

• Instale la batería correctamente utilizando la punta de la misma para empujar la palanca de

expulsión de la batería (página 7).

Resulta imposible encender la cámara.

• Instale la batería correctamente (página 7).

• La batería está descargada. Instale la batería cargada (página 9).

• La batería está inutilizable. Reemplácela con una nueva.

• Utilice una batería recomendada (página 6).

• La tapa del objetivo no está completamente abierta. Abra la tapa hasta que produzca un

chasquido.

La alimentación se desconecta súbitamente.

• Si no utiliza la cámara durante unos tres min (minuto) mientras esté conectada la

alimentación, la cámara se apagará automáticamente para evitar que la batería se agote.
Encienda la cámara otra vez (página 11).

• La batería está inutilizable. Reemplácela con una nueva.

El indicador de batería restante es incorrecto.

• Este fenómeno ocurre cuando utiliza la cámara en un lugar muy cálido o frío.

• La batería restante visualizada es diferente de la real. Descargue completamente la batería y

vuelva a cargarla para corregir la indicación.

• La batería está descargada. Instale la batería cargada (página 9).

• La batería está inutilizable. Reemplácela con una nueva.

Toma de imágenes fijas/películas

La cámara no puede grabar imágenes.

• Compruebe la capacidad libre de la memoria interna o el “Memory Stick Duo” (página 30). Si

está lleno, realice uno de lo siguiente:

– Borre imágenes no necesarias (página 16).
– Cambie el “Memory Stick Duo”.

• Cuando la capacidad libre de la memoria interna no sea suficiente, no podrá grabar imágenes

aunque el “Memory Stick Duo” tenga capacidad suficiente. Esto se debe a que la cámara
graba una imagen de álbum en la memoria interna al mismo tiempo. Borre imágenes no
necesarias.

• Está utilizando un “Memory Stick Duo” con conmutador de protección contra la escritura, y

el conmutador está puesto en la posición LOCK. Ponga el conmutador en la posición de
grabación.

• No es posible grabar imágenes mientras se carga el flash.

• La selección del modo Película/Foto no es correcta. Ajuste el modo utilizando el botón

/ (Película/Foto).

Resulta imposible insertar fechas en las imágenes.

• Esta cámara no tiene una función para superponer fechas en imágenes. Sin embargo, puede

imprimir imágenes con la fecha superpuesta.

Visualización de imágenes

La cámara no puede reproducir imágenes.

• No hay su imagen de álbum porque ha importado la imagen de un ordenador a la cámara con

una conexión de almacenamiento masivo. Realice [Buscar imágs] (página 20).

• El nombre de carpeta/archivo ha sido cambiado en su ordenador. Realice [Buscar imágs]

(página 20).

• Cuando un archivo de imagen haya sido procesado con un ordenador o cuando el archivo de

imagen haya sido grabado utilizando un modelo distinto al de su cámara, la reproducción en
su cámara no está garantizada.

• La cámara está en el modo USB. Elimine la conexión USB.

Precauciones

[ No utilice o almacene la cámara

en los siguientes lugares

• En un lugar muy caluroso, frío o húmedo
En lugares tales como en un automóvil aparcado

al sol, es posible que el cuerpo de la cámara se
deforme y esto podrá ocasionar un mal
funcionamiento.

• Bajo la luz solar directa o cerca de una estufa
El cuerpo de la cámara podrá decolorarse o

deformarse, y esto podrá ocasionar un mal
funcionamiento.

• En un lugar expuesto a vibración basculante

• Cerca de un lugar magnético fuerte

• En lugares arenosos o polvorientos
Tenga cuidado de no dejar entrar dentro de la

cámara arena o polvo. Esto podrá ocasionar un
mal funcionamiento en la cámara, y en algunos
casos este mal funcionamiento no podrá
repararse.

[ Acerca del transporte

No se siente en una silla u otro lugar con la
cámara en el bolsillo trasero de sus pantalones o
falda, porque podrá ocasionar un mal
funcionamiento de la cámara o dañarla.

[ Acerca de la limpieza

Limpieza de la pantalla LCD

Limpie la superficie de la pantalla con un kit de
limpieza de LCD (no suministrado) para quitar las
huellas dactilares, el polvo, etc.

Limpieza del objetivo

Limpie el objetivo con un paño suave para quitar
huellas dactilares, polvo, etc.

Limpieza de la superficie de la cámara

Limpie la superficie de la cámara con un paño
suave ligeramente humedecido con agua, después
limpie la superficie con un paño seco. No utilice
lo siguiente porque podrán dañar el acabado o la
caja.

• Productos químicos tales como diluyente,

bencina, alcohol, paños desechables, repelente
de insectos, bronceador o insecticida, etc.

• No toque la cámara con las sustancias anteriores

en su mano.

• No deje la cámara en contacto con goma o

vinilo durante largo tiempo.

[ Acerca de la temperatura de

funcionamiento

Su cámara está diseñada para ser utilizada a
temperaturas de entre 0°C y 40°C
No se recomienda tomar imágenes en lugares
extremadamente fríos o calurosos que excedan
esta gama.

[ Acerca de la condensación de

humedad

Si se traslada la cámara directamente de un lugar
frío a uno cálido, es posible que la humedad se
condense en el interior o el exterior de la cámara.
Esta condensación de humedad podrá ocasionar
un mal funcionamiento de la cámara.

Si se produce condensación de humedad

Apague la cámara y espere una h (hora)
aproximadamente hasta que la humedad se
evapore. Tenga en cuenta que si intenta tomar
imágenes quedando aún humedad en el interior
del objetivo, no podrá grabar imágenes claras.

[ Acerca de la batería interna de

respaldo recargable

Esta cámara tiene una batería recargable interna
para mantener la fecha y hora y otros ajustes
independientemente de si la alimentación está
conectada o desconectada.

Esta batería recargable se carga continuamente
siempre que está utilizando la cámara. Sin
embargo, si utiliza la cámara solamente durante
cortos períodos se descargará gradualmente, y si
no la utiliza en absoluto durante un mes se
descargará completamente. En este caso,
asegúrese de cargar esta batería recargable antes
de utilizar la cámara.

Sin embargo, aunque la batería recargable no esté
cargada, aún puede utilizar la cámara siempre y
cuando no grabe la fecha y hora.
