System Requirements

Windows XP Pro Service Pack 1
•
Microsoft DirectX 8.1
•
800 MHz Pentium III or faster
• 256 MB of system memory (RAM)
CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
Monitor with 1024 x 768 resolution (1280 x 1024 recommended), 24-bit color (32-bit color recommended)
10 MB of hard drive space for the ROM Formatter application and related files
Sufficient hard drive space for disc images and DVD Volumes
Parallel port for ROM Formatter dongle
Note: Hard drives for disc images must be formatted with the NTFS file system to support files larger than 4 GB.
DLT Drives
ROM Formatter supports the following DLT drives:
Quantum DLT 2000, DLT 4000, DLT 7000, and DLT 8000
Quantum DLT 1
Exabyte 8900
CD-Recordable and DVD-Recordable Drives
ROM Formatter supports a wide range of CD-recordable and DVD-recordable drives. The current list of supported
drives is available at the following URL:

ROM Formatter’s output capability for CD-R and DVD-R drives can be updated by downloading the most recent
recording engine from the following URL:

Supported Hard Drive Controllers
ROM Formatter supports the following hard drive controllers:
Adaptec 2940 SCSI adapter
Adaptec 39160 SCSI card
Adaptec 2120S SCSI RAID controller
Intel 875 and 865 motherboards with built-in Serial ATA controllers
Promise Technology FastTrak S150 SX4 Serial ATA RAID controller
Promise Technology FastTrak S150 TX4 Serial ATA RAID controller
Promise Technology SATA150 TX4 Serial ATA controller
Requirements for Macintosh Files
To preserve the resource forks for Macintosh ROM files, you will need one of the following:
Windows 2000 or 2003 Server with Macintosh support
PC MACLAN from Miramar Systems (www.miramarsys.com)
DAVE from Thursby Software (www.thursby.com)
MacOpener 2000 from DataViz (www.dataviz.com)
