3. Application, setup and connection as directed
The product is designed for outdoor use and intended for gaining solar power.
Please make sure that the polarity is correct during setup. Please refer to the identification markings PLUS (+) and MINUS (-)!
This set (item no. 03020) is not suitable to actuate cool boxes or refrigerators.
The following sketch illustrates the connection of all components to the charge / discharge regulator (item no. 03155):
4. Initial start-up
1. Carefully unpack all parts.
2. Position the solar module in a suitable place exposed to direct sunlight. All cables must be laid accurately and safely.
3. Connect the battery connection cable of the 12V battery (a 9Ah battery is included in the delivery) to the two middle connections. Connect the lead marked with PLUS (+) to "B+" and the lead marked with MINUS (-) to "B-".
Connect the solar module to the two left
4. connections. Then connect the lead marked with PLUS (+) to "S+" and the lead marked with MINUS (-) to "S-".
5. The 12V junction box for connecting electrical appliances (loads), e.g. 12V radio or suitable LEDs, must be connected to the two right connections. Then connect the lead marked with PLUS (+) to "L+" and the lead marked with MINUS (-) to "L-".
4. Continuation initial start-up
Now connect the battery connection cable to the supplied 9Ah battery. Connect the lead marked with PLUS (+) to the
6. POSITIVE TERMINAL (+) and the lead marked with MINUS (-) to the NEGATIVE TERMINAL (-).
7. If necessary, you use another 12V rechargeable battery with higher capacity (Ah) to allow a greater energy storage. A rechargeable battery with 15Ah to 35Ah is recommendable.
Special solar batteries are offered under www.sued-solar.de.
8. Do not switch on the appliances (load) until the solar module has charged the 12V battery sufficiently.

5. Care, maintenance and malfunctions
Clean the product with a clean dry cloth only. Avoid polarity reversal when connecting the solar module, otherwise the battery will not be charged. In case of reverse polarity, immediately adjust the connecting leads of the solar module! This set (item no. 03020) is not suitable to actuate cool boxes or refrigerators.

7. Technical data:
Solar module
Nominal voltage : 12V DC Nominal capacity : 20W peak
Charge regulator
Temperature range : - 20°C to + 50°C
12V junction box
Overall weight : gross approx. 6.0kg / net approx. 5.0kg Subject to technical modifications
Further details, values and data can be taken from the type label of the solar module.
Calculating operating hours using the example of a 6W LED flash light: Summer half-year: Average of 5 hours of sunshine at 20W module power = 100 watt-hours (Wh).
Example 1: Using one 6W light = approx. 16 operating hours Example 2: Using four 6W lights = approx. 4 operating hours each Therefore the 12V battery requires a capacity of 9Ah minimum. A higher capacity allows several daily charges at 100Wh each to be stored. Winter half-year: Average of 2 hours of sunshine at 20W module power = 40 watt-hours (Wh). Example 1: Using one 6W light = approx. 6.5 operating hours Example 2: Using four 6W lights = approx. 1.5 operating hours each
Further accessories such as solar modules, holders, solar batteries, LED lights and 12 to 230V voltage converters can be found under www.sued-solar.de including:
