Decode UPC/EAN Supplementals
Parameter # 10h
Supplementals are bar codes appended according to specific format conventions (e.g., UPC A+2, UPC E+2, EAN 13+2). The following options are available:
If you select Ignore UPC/EAN with Supplementals, and the scanner is presented with a UPC/EAN plus supplemental symbol, the scanner decodes UPC/EAN and ignores the supplemental characters.
If you select Decode UPC/EAN with Supplementals, the scanner only decodes UPC/EAN symbols with supplemental characters, and ignores symbols without supplementals.
If you select Autodiscriminate UPC/EAN Supplementals, the scanner decodes UPC/EAN symbols with supplemental characters immediately. If the symbol does not have a supplemental, the scanner must decode the bar code the number of times set via Decode UPC/EAN Supplemental Redundancy on page 15 before transmitting its data to c
If you select one of the following Supplemental Mode options, the scanner immediately transmits EAN-13 bar codes starting with that prefix that have supplemental characters. If the symbol does not have a supplemental, the scanner must decode the bar code the number of times set via Decode UPC/EAN Supplemental Redundancy on page 15 before transmitting its data to confirm that there is no supplemental. The scanner transmits UPC/EAN bar codes that do not have that prefix immediately.
