#6-3384 DAMPENER RELOCATION KIT FOR
SCRAMBLER TWIN STICK ZERO-TURN HYDRO-DRIVE SERIES 6
WARNING
DO NOT attempt any adjustments, maintenance, repairs, or service with engine running. Stop engine. Engage
parking brake. Remove key. Remove spark plug wire and secure wire away from spark plug. Engine, muffler and
surrounding areas are extremely hot. Avoid serious burns; allow components to cool down before installing kit.
Replace worn or damaged parts prior to operating. Use approved fuel container. DO NOT smoke near open fuel
container. DO NOT fill fuel tank indoors or when engine is running. Allow engine to cool for at least ten minutes
before refilling. Make sure that fuel cap is tightened securely. Wipe off any spilled fuel before starting engine.

STEP 1: Remove bolt securing upper end of dampener to
side of seat support. Remove spacer from bolt, then remove
bolt from dampener. Set spacer and bolt aside. Then
remove self-locking cotter pin securing bottom end of dampener to twin stick arm, and slide dampener off arm. See
Figure 1.
STEP 2: From inside of seat support, remove hardware
securing reverse return spring rod swivel to seat support,
and slide swivel out. Set hardware aside. See Figure 1.
STEP 3: Lay dampener plate #0-43341 against side of seat
support as shown, and secure with bolt removed in Step 1.
See Figure 2. Do not tighten bolt yet.
STEP 4: Reinstall swivel into seat support, making sure to
fit swivel into large hole in dampener plate. Secure swivel
on inside of seat support with removed hardware, tightening
securely. Then tighten dampener plate bolt securely. See
Figure 2.
STEP 5: Install rod end of new dampener #5022978 onto
twin stick arm. See Figure 2. (NOTE: The end of the new
dampener is wider than the old one; therefore the cotter pin
removed in Step 1 will not be able to be reinstalled.
However, due to the rigidness of the new dampener, the cotter pin is unnecessary.)
STEP 6: Fit one 1/4” flat washer #0-91294 onto one 1/4-20
x 1-1/8” bolt #0-90872, then insert bolt through top (fixed)
end of dampener. Slip spacer removed in Step 2 onto bolt,
then insert bolt through hole in far end of dampener plate,
securing with one 1/4-20 nyloc nut #0-91603. See Figure 2.
Tighten securely.
STEP 7: Check to make sure that all assembly steps have
been completed and that all hardware is securely tightened,
then repeat Steps 1-6 for other side.
ASSEMBLY IS COMPLETE
