As to avoid overheating, please do not place the units on high temperature devices such as power amplifiers or near other units which may have high frequency transmittance such as wireless devices.
Mains voltage
The DI-DOCK LIVE can be used with a 12V DC adaptor or with a PHANTOM 48V power source from a mixing console, when used from PHANTOM POWER the recharging circuit will not be enabled, please note that when using PHANTOM POWER you should not enable the transformer isolation as this will cause the unit not the work properly.

1. INTRODUCTION
Now you can easily mix external signals with your iPod* audio stream. Bring in a click track for live performance; blend in the feed from your monitor system; combine the output of your mixer with your MP3 backing tracks.
Front-panel controls let you quickly create independent master and monitor/headphone mixes. Is the drummer playing to a click track? The audience will never know!
Also features balanced transformer-isolated XLR outputs, Left/Center/Right output select switch, a “charger” mode for making sure your iPod* is always ready to roll, and a remote control input for operating the iPod*.
With the increased number of users preferring to use items such as MP3 players and IPOD’s the need for a robust solution to play audio files back from these devices has led us to develop the DI DOCK LIVE.
Many similar devices exhibited increased noise when connected to larger PA systems, with only a 3.5mm (1/8”) jack to connect them, malfunctions were easily caused during use.
The solution was to create a Docking station DI which has Transformer Isolated outputs, Active circuitry and be able to be operated from +48V Phantom Power. For monitoring a headphone amp has been included as well. A ‘MUST’ tool for hire companies or musicians who use these devices.

6. APPLICATION
6.1 Using the DI-DOCK LIVE to connect iPod(tm) to a PA system
Make sure the DI-DOCK LIVE is powered either via the 12v DC connector or Phantom power from a mixing console or other devices which can supply power to the DI-DOCK LIVE. Switch ON your iPod(tm) and then insert it into the DI-DOCK LIVE connector. Make sure it is firmly inserted. Select the song you want played and then adjust the output volume to the headphone or MASTER, the output volumes are not related so you can have a different volume going to the MASTER XLR outputs then the Headphone output. You can also select which audio channels you want to send to the output by selecting the L (left) R(right) or C(both channels) to the XLR outputs.
For Example: You have a Click Track on one channel and Music on the other Channel, you don’t want to send the Clcik track to the front of house mixer so just select the Music tracks channels to be sent to the XLR connectors.
Make sure you run your device (Mp3 or iPod(tm)) at around %60 of the normal volume as this is where your player will have the best signal to noise ration, many Mp3 players exhibit much higher noise at higher levels, use the DI-DOCK LIVE to adjust the output level accordingly.
6.2 Selecting what is played in the headphones
The DI-DOCK LIVE has the unique ability of mixing between the LEFT and RIGHT channels to the headphones. In this way you are able to select how much CLICK track or how much MUSIC track you want to monitor in the headphone while they both appear on both sides together (not a hard pan LEFT and RIGHT). You can also MIX IN to the headphone the AUX inputs and select the level of the AUX input you want. None of these functions affect the XLR outputs.
6.3 Using the DI-DOCK LIVE to connect other LINE LEVEL devices
The only difference here is that you would connect the device you have to the LINE INPUT connector on the front of the DI-DOCK LIVE, you can use the DIDOCK LIVE as a great KB, Mp3, CD or any other device requiring it’s abilities.
6.4 1/8” (3.5mm) remote input socket
In future we will release several remote control units for the DI-DOCK LIVE including foot controls and MIDI controls.
