This document refers to the Smeg accessories “PAD2, PAD2-60, PAD2X and PAD2X-60”. The accessories can only be installed and used on Smeg devices. In order for the accessory to be used properly and safely, this manual must be used in conjunction with the manual of the device, instrument washer or glassware washer in which it is installed. Failure to read, understand or correctly interpret the instructions contained in this manual may cause damage to the appliance, and as well as being a source of danger for the operator, this may considerably reduce the performance of the machine.

The manufacturer declines all liability for uses other than those indicated in this manual. Installation, maintenance and repairs must only be carried out by personnel authorised by the manufacturer.

1 DESCRIPTION

PAD2, PAD2X

Booster pumps for non-pressurised demineralised water. These allow the machine to be supplied with demineralised water drawn from a non-pressurised tank placed on the floor. This pump ensures that the demineralised water enters the machine with sufficient pressure for the machine to work properly. The capacity of the tank must be adequate for the machine that is installed. Consider both the type and characteristics of the products when determining the correct size of the tank and the system for the production of the demineralised water. Pump with painted cast-iron body and brass impeller.

Pump with stainless steel and engineering thermoplastics (fibreglass reinforced PPO) body.

The capacity of the tank must be adequate for the machines supplied by it. Consider both the number and the characteristics of the products when determining the correct size of the tank and the system for the production of the demineralised water, in order to calculate the required flow rate correctly. 2 COMPATIBILITY BETWEEN THE ACCESSORY AND DEVICES

The PAD2 and PAD2X accessories are installed external to the appliance. On some models, the accessory can be installed only in conjunction with the PAD2R auxiliary kit, as specified in the following tables. (e.g. on GW1160 it is necessary to install the PAD2 with the kit PAD2R. On GW3060, the auxiliary kit is not required because the machine is already set up for the PAD2 to be installed).

Note: The 60Hz variants of the 230V or 400V Smeg machine models must be equipped with the corresponding 60Hz variant: PAD2-60 and PAD2X-60.

For example, model GW4090-60 must be used with the accessory: PAD2-60 or PAD2X-60.
