1. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
THIS MANUAL IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE APPLIANCE AND MUST THEREFORE BE KEPT IN ITS ENTIRETY AND IN AN ACCESSIBLE PLACE FOR THE WHOLE WORKING LIFE OF THE APPLIANCE. WE ADVISE YOU TO READ THIS MANUAL AND ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS THEREIN CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT. INSTALLATION MUST BE CARRIED OUT BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS IN FORCE. THIS APPLIANCE IS INTENDED FOR DOMESTIC USE AND IN OPEN ENVIRONMENTS. IT CONFORMS TO THE EEC DIRECTIVES CURRENTLY IN FORCE. THE APPLIANCE HAS BEEN BUILT TO CARRY OUT THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS: COOKING AND HEATING UP FOOD; ALL OTHER USES ARE CONSIDERED UNSUITABLE. THE MANUFACTURER CANNOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR USES OTHER THAN THOSE INDICATED.
DO NOT USE THIS APPLIANCE FOR HEATING ROOMS.
DO NOT DISCARD PACKAGING IN THE HOME ENVIRONMENT. SEPARATE THE VARIOUS WASTE MATERIALS AND TAKE THEM TO THE NEAREST DIFFERENTIATED WASTE COLLECTION CENTRE.
DO NOT OBSTRUCT THE OPENINGS, THE VENTILATION AND HEAT DISPERSAL SLITS LOCATED ON THE SIDES AND IN THE BOTTOM PART OF THE PRODUCT.
THE I.D. PLATE WITH TECHNICAL DATA, SERIAL NUMBER AND BRAND NAME IS POSITIONED VISIBLY ON THE BACK OF THE APPLIANCE. DO NOT REMOVE THIS PLATE FOR ANY REASON.
NEVER LEAVE THE APPLIANCE UNATTENDED DURING USE.
THE INTERNAL BURNERS AND RADIATING GRILL BURNER MUST NEVER BE USED SIMULTANEOUSLY.
DO NOT USE METALLIC SPONGES OR SHARP SCRAPERS ON THE EXTERNAL SURFACES: THEY WILL DAMAGE THE SURFACES. USE NORMAL NON-ABRASIVE PRODUCTS AND A WOODEN OR PLASTIC TOOL IF NECESSARY. RINSE THOROUGHLY AND DRY WITH A SOFT CLOTH OR CHAMOIS LEATHER.
DO NOT USE WATER JET CLEANERS TO CLEAN THE PRODUCT, SINCE THE POWER OF THE WATER JET MAY CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE SAFETY AND APPEARANCE OF THE PRODUCT.
IF THE KNOB BECOMES DIFFICULT TO TURN, YOU ARE ADVISED TO GET THE TAPS INSPECTED BY AN AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE.
IF THE APPLIANCE IS NOT USED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, CLOSE THE GAS SUPPLY TAP. IF THE APPLIANCE BREAKS DOWN OR DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY, PLEASE CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICES.
ALL FAULT REPAIR OPERATIONS MUST BE CARRIED OUT BY AN AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE.
The manufacturer cannot be held liable for damage to persons or things caused by failure to observe the above instructions, by interference with any part of the appliance or by the use of non-original spare parts.

2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISPOSAL – OUR CONCERN FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Our product's packing is made of non-polluting materials, which are therefore compatible with the environment and recyclable. Please help by disposing of the packaging correctly. You can obtain the addresses of collection, recycling and disposal centres from your retailer or from the competent local organisations. Do not throw the packing or any part of it away. It can constitute a suffocation hazard for children, especially the plastic bags.
Your old appliance also needs to be disposed of correctly. Important: hand over your appliance to the local agency authorised for the collection of electrical appliances no longer in use. Correct disposal enables intelligent recovery of valuable materials.

REFER TO THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SAFETY REGULATIONS FOR ELECTRIC OR GAS APPLIANCES AND VENTILATION FUNCTIONS. IN YOUR INTERESTS AND FOR YOUR SAFETY THE LAW REQUIRES THAT THE INSTALLATION AND SERVICING OF ALL ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES ARE CARRIED OUT BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS IN FORCE. OUR APPROVED INSTALLERS GUARANTEE A SATISFACTORY JOB. GAS OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES MUST ALWAYS BE DISCONNECTED BY SUITABLY SKILLED PEOPLE.
BEFORE THE APPLIANCE IS PUT INTO OPERATION, THE PROTECTIVE FILMS APPLIED INSIDE OR OUTSIDE MUST BE REMOVED.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER INSTALLATION, CARRY OUT A QUICK TEST ON THE APPLIANCE FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED LATER IN THIS MANUAL. SHOULD THE APPLIANCE NOT FUNCTION CALL THE NEAREST TECHNICAL SUPPORT CENTRE. NEVER ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE APPLIANCE.
THIS PRODUCT IS FACTORY SET FOR THE USE OF LPG GAS SOLD IN APPROPRIATE CYLINDERS AT AUTHORISED CENTRES. SHOULD IT BE NECESSARY TO USE A DIFFERENT TYPE OF GAS, YOU MUST CONTACT THE NEAREST AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE.
A GAS CYLINDER, EVEN IF IT APPEARS TO BE EMPTY, MUST ALWAYS BE HANDLED WITH CARE AND IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE SAFETY RULES PROVIDED WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS. NEVER USE GAS CYLINDERS WITH DENTS OR RUSTED AREAS.
NEVER USE A FLAME TO CHECK THAT GAS IS FLOWING CORRECTLY OUT OF THE BURNERS, OR TO SEARCH FOR ANY GAS LEAKS IN THE APPLIANCE.
DO NOT KEEP A SPARE CYLINDER IN THE VICINITY OF THE APPLIANCE.
NEVER DISCONNECT THE CYLINDER FROM THE PRODUCT WHILE THE PRODUCT IS FUNCTIONING AND IN ANY CASE ALWAYS REMAIN AT A DISTANCE FROM THE PRODUCT FOR ANY OPERATION INVOLVING THE CYLINDER.
NEVER PLACE PANS OR CONTAINERS WITH BOTTOMS WHICH ARE NOT PERFECTLY FLAT AND SMOOTH ON THE HOB RACKS.
THE APPLIANCE BECOMES VERY HOT DURING USE. OVEN GLOVES SHOULD BE WORN IN ORDER TO AVOID BURNS.
NEVER USE PANS OR GRIDDLES WHICH PROJECT BEYOND THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF THE HOB.
NEVER REST INFLAMMABLE OBJECTS ON THE PRODUCT: IF IT SHOULD ACCIDENTALLY BE SWITCHED ON, THIS MIGHT CAUSE A FIRE.
DURING USE THE APPLIANCE BECOMES VERY HOT. TAKE CARE NEVER TO TOUCH THE HEATING ELEMENTS INSIDE THE APPLIANCE.
TO AVOID OVERHEATING, DO NOT USE TWO STAINLESS STEEL/CAST IRON PLATES AT THE SAME TIME.
ALWAYS KEEP HOLD OF THE LID WHEN LOWERING IT. OBSERVE THE THERMOMETER PROVIDED ON THE LID: WHEN THE READING EXCEEDS 300°C
(RED ZONE) THE LID MUST BE RAISED TO PREVENT DANGEROUS OVERHEATING.

THE APPLIANCE IS INTENDED FOR USE BY ADULTS. DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO GO NEAR IT OR PLAY WITH IT. WHEN THE PRODUCT IS FUNCTIONING IT MAY BECOME VERY HOT: KEEP CHILDREN AWAY.
ALWAYS CHECK THAT THE CONTROL KNOBS ARE IN THE (OFF) POSITION WHEN YOU FINISH USING THE APPLIANCE.
NEVER USE THIS APPLIANCE IN A CLOSED SPACE, CAR, VAN, CAMPER OR CARAVAN.
WHEN HOOKING UP THE APPLIANCE TO THE CYLINDER, USE ONLY THE FITTINGS AND REGULATORS SUPPLIED WITH THE APPLIANCE. THESE PRODUCTS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE FROM OUR AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRES. USING ANY OTHER PRODUCTS CAN SERIOUSLY COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF THE APPLIANCE.
IF THE BARBECUE HAS BEEN OUT OF USE FOR SOME TIME, BEFORE REUSING IT CHECK THAT THE GAS OUTLET HOLES ARE NOT CLOGGED WITH DUST OR SPIDER'S WEBS. FOR THE CORRECT PROCEDURE, SEE “12.2.3 THE BURNERS”.
THIS APPLIANCE MAY ONLY BE USED OUTDOORS IN THE PRESENCE OF NATURAL VENTILATION, OUTSIDE ANY STAGNANT AREAS, WHERE GAS LEAKS AND COMBUSTION PRODUCTS CAN BE RAPIDLY DISPERSED BY THE WIND AND BY THE NATURAL CONVECTION OF THE AIR.
NEVER USE THE APPLIANCE OUTDOORS IN BAD WEATHER. ANY CONTACT WITH WATER COULD SERIOUSLY DAMAGE THE APPLIANCE AND PUT ITS SAFETY AT RISK.
TAKE CARE NOT TO ALLOW THE GLASS OF THE BARBECUE LID TO COME INTO CONTACT WITH WATER WHILE IT IS STILL HOT.
CAUTION: DO NOT EXPOSE THE ROTISSERIE MOTOR TO BAD WEATHER AS THIS COULD DAMAGE THE DEVICE AND REDUCE ITS SAFETY LEVEL.
ONLY LIGHT THE BURNERS WITH THE LID RAISED.
DURING COOKING, TAKE CARE NOT TO OBSTRUCT THE FAT DRAINAGE HOLE IN THE FRONT OF THE APPLIANCE. IF NECESSARY, CLEAN IT THOROUGHLY WITH THE AID OF A WOODEN OR PLASTIC UTENSIL.
THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE VALID ONLY FOR THE DESTINATION COUNTRIES WHOSE IDENTIFYING SYMBOLS ARE INCLUDED ON THE COVER OF THIS MANUAL.

4. INTENDED USE OF THE APPLIANCE
The appliance is specifically constructed for domestic use outdoors and is therefore suitable for cooking and heating foods. The appliance was not designed and manufactured for professional use. Smeg cannot be held liable for damage arising from incorrect use of the appliance.
THIS APPLIANCE MAY ONLY BE USED OUTDOORS IN THE PRESENCE OF NATURAL VENTILATION, OUTSIDE ANY STAGNANT AREAS, WHERE GAS LEAKS AND COMBUSTION PRODUCTS CAN BE RAPIDLY DISPERSED BY THE WIND AND BY THE NATURAL CONVECTION OF THE AIR.
4.1 Examples of outdoor use
Any delimited area in which the appliance is positioned must comply with the following requirements:
• An area delimited by walls on all four sides, but with at least one permanent opening on the ground and no roof covering.
• Inside a delimited area that includes a roof covering but which has no more than two walls.
• With a partial enclosure that includes a roof covering but no more than two walls with the following restrictions:
At least 25% of the total surface area of the wall must be completely open. At least 30% of the remaining surface area is open and not delimited.
• In the case of terraces, at least 20% of the total surface areas of the walls, back and front must be open.
