Managed Switch
www.smc.com
The SMC8124PL2 provides wire speed 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet switching with built in PoE features specifically designed for SMB workgroup environments. By supporting 802.3af POE on all 10/100/1000 copper ports it enables easy installation of PoE devices such as IP Phones and IP Cameras. The integrated combo ports provide SFP's for where fiber is required for extended distances. An integrated part of this switch family is the IP Clustering function. The feature allows customers to group together up to 32 switches into a single logical group which can be managed using a single IP address.
The switch also boasts advanced Quality of Service features that can reduce the latency of packets through the network, with specific traffic prioritization improving the delivery of converged data such as voice and high quality video over IP. The 2 combo ports provide either 10/100/1000 or SFP ports. The PoE function allows up to
15.4W maximum per port. Overall this switch is part of flexible switch family which brings PoE and non-PoE switches to the edge of the network.
FEATURES
High-gigabit port density in a small footprint
IEEE802.3af on all 10/100/1000 ports
Supports IP Clustering
VLAN with GVRP
IGMP Snooping
MultiLink Trunking with LACP
Comprehensive security support
Supports 24*10/100/1000Mbps including 2 combo ports in a 1RU chassis
Supports the IEEE Power over Ethernet standard on all 10/100/1000 ports
IP Clustering allows up to 32 units to be managed from a single IP address
Support VLANs based on frame tags or ports, plus support for automatic GVRP LAN registration
Only allows IP Multicast traffic transmission to the registered members, resulting bandwidth savings--reduce IP multicast traffic and increase LAN performance
Can group links between switches to provide higher bandwidth connections on both 10/100 and Gigabit
