2.4GHz Wireless PCI Card
The SMC2602W V.2 is an IEEE 802.11b - compliant 11 Mbps wireless
PCI card. It meets the needs of small business and corporate users
who require an 11 Mbps wireless connection to an existing LAN. This
new adapter features an operating range of up to 350m, an ad hoc
mode for peer-to-peer networking and true plug-and-play installation
in all desktop computers. Great for mobile users, temporary work
sites and a range of other applications, wireless technology provides
optimal mobility, simple and fl exible installation options and excellent
scalability in supporting additional PCs. The technology is also ideal
for use with cable or xDSL modems, as well as SOHO and corporate
applications.
This solution offers a high data rate and reliable wireless connectivity with considerable cost savings over wired LANs (which include
long-term maintenance overhead for cabling). Just install enough
wireless access points to cover your network area, plug wireless cards
into your desktop computers, and start networking. Using this card in
conjunction with SMC2655W wireless access points, you can create
an instant network that integrates seamlessly with 10 Mbps Ethernet
LANs. Moreover, moving or expanding your network is as easy as
moving or installing additional access points – no wires!
