Replacing the battery
To replace the bat tery in your Motion Se nsor, use a flat tool to carefully r emove the battery f rom the device. Then ad d a new batter y and close the cover b ack into place.
Using the Motion Sensor:
You'll want to plac e your Motion Sensor s o that the circular sensor is fac ing the area that you'd like to m onitor. Be sure that no objec ts are directly block ing the Sensor's lin e of detection. B y angling the sensor do wnward, it will be able to detect movem ent of pets. By angling it u pward or by placing it flat in eleva ted area, it won't dete ct the movement of pets.

Meet your Motion Sensor
The Motion S ensor lets you know wh en movement is detected in a ce rtain area and can tr igger different ac tions in response to t hat movement (or lack of move ment).
Installation Tips
The Motion S ensor works best if it ’s within 15 feet (4.5 meters) of the Sma rtThings Hub whe n you connect it.
How to connect a Motion Sensor
Select “Co nnect New Device” in the f ree SmartThings mobile app a nd then remove the “Rem ove to pair” tab found in the Motion S ensor.

If your device doesn’t connect
If your devic e doesn't connec t when you remove the pul l-tab, hold the "C onnect" button fo r 5 seconds and release i t when the LED light s tarts blinking red, t hen tap "Connect N ew Device" un der Marketplace in th e SmartThings app.
Note: If you don' t release the "Conn ect" button when t he LED light star ts blinking red, the dev ice will not be able to complete the connection.
