Installation Tips
The Multip urpose Sensor work s best if it’s within 15 feet
(4.5 meters) of the Sma rtThings Hub whe n you connect it.
If your device doesn’t connect:
If your devic e doesn't connec t when you remove the pul l-tab,
hold the "C onnect" button fo r 5 seconds and release i t when
the LED light s tarts blinking red, t hen tap "Connect N ew
Device" un der Marketplace in th e SmartThings app.
Note: If you don' t release the "Conn ect" button when t he LED
light star ts blinking red, the dev ice will not be able to
complete the connection.
How to connect a Multipurpose Sensor
Select “Co nnect New Device” in the f ree SmartThings
mobile app a nd then remove the “Rem ove to Pair” tab found
in the Multipurpose Sensor.

Use your Multipurpose Sensor to know if doors
are open or closed:
The Smar tThings Multi Senso r can monitor whethe r doors,
windows, c abinets or your garage a re open, closed or have
been left o pen after you leave hom e. To start, mo unt one
part of your M ultipurpose Sens or on a doorframe, wi ndow
frame, or the f ixed part of a cabine t or drawer, and place the
other par t next to it on the door, windo w, or part t hat opens.
Use your Multipurpose Sensor to monitor
temperature:
The Multip urpose Sensor can d etect the temperature in t he
room where i t's located. By plac ing the Multipurpos e Sensor
on a door, window, or c abinet, you can monito r the
temperatur e and receive alert s if the room gets too hot
or cold.

Replacing the battery
To replace the bat tery in your Multipu rpose Sensor, use a
flat tool to car efully remove the batte ry from the device. T hen
add a new bat tery and close the cove r back into place.

Period, the n as your sole remed y (and SmartThin gs’ sole liabilit y),
SmartTh ings will at its opti on either 1) repair th e defect at no charge, u sing
new or refurb ished replacem ent parts, or 2) rep lace the Product w ith a new
