If this is the first time you have switched on the D200 EFTPOS terminal or the currently configured network is not available or you would like to connect to another Wi-Fi network follow the process on the next page.
If the IP address of the terminal changes, the IP address will need to be updated manually in the POS to continue transacting. Press 0 to view on screen.
We recommend checking the IP address details match each time you restart the terminal and/or Wi-Fi hotspot.
Wi-Fi SETUP
Connecting to Wi-Fi
Internet Connection
In order to process payments your D200 mobile EFTPOS terminal has to be connected to a
compatible interfaced POS solution using the same network. The D200 requires an internet
connection through a secure private Wi-Fi network, mobile Wi-Fi hotspot or other smart device
hotspot to process transactions. Smartpay does not recommend using public or unsecured Wi-Fi
networks to process payments through.
You will need to make sure your internet connection is activated, you have data, and (if using)
your router does not have any special configuration settings, network traffic restrictions or filters.
Please be aware that different operating systems may not support all connectivity modes and if
your network range and signal is not strong enough you may experience issues using the D-Series
EFTPOS terminals.
If using a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot or to hotspot off your phone, first turn on and ensure the Wi-Fi network is available. Have your hotspot device and terminal fully charged and ready.
Make sure the D200 is in the range of your Wi-Fi network.
Switch ON your D200. If the network matches what is currently configured in your D200 it will automatically re-connect during startup.
Wait for it to complete the initialisation process and display the idle screen.

Performing Basic Transactions
Your D200 EFTPOS Terminal supports three different methods for accepting payment “cards” Magnetic Stripe, Chip & PIN and Contactless (NFC).
The D200 has two readers (mag strip on top and chip at bottom) and one built-in antenna for NFC located near the top under the display screen.
The terminal will only perform functions that are supported by the POS you are using. POS features and functionality are controlled by the POS company. Tipping and Hospitality functionality are enabled/disabled by your merchant bank.
To support integration with the D200, the POS should support a minimum of Purchase, Refund, Logon, Reprint Last Transaction and Digital Signature Capture for signature verified receipts.

Contactless transactions are fast, convenient and can increase payment security, as the card never has
to leave the cardholder’s possession to complete the transaction. However contactless payment is not
supported for all transaction types and you cannot present the customer card before the transaction
amount is entered into the terminal.
If you have contactless functionality enabled with your merchant bank and your customer’s card is
contactless enabled, or they are using a digital wallet such as Apple Pay, please follow the procedure
below after you confirm the amount of the transaction.
If the Blue indicator LED lights up, then contactless payment is an option and you should pass the
terminal to the customer to present their card.
The customer should present their card (or smartphone) with the chip above the display near to the
Blue indicator (approx. 1-2 cm away near the top of the screen works best).
If the card is incorrectly read or placed before the terminal is ready, the Red indicator LED will flash and
the screen prompt will display PLEASE REMOVE CARD or PLEASE PRESENT CARD AGAIN. Remove
card and wait for the Blue indicator before trying to present the card again.
When you hear the BEEP remove the card and check the terminal screen for transaction APPROVED/
DECLINED message. If the transaction amount is above the PIN (CVM) limit set by the merchant bank
the cardholder may be prompted for their PIN or a signature to complete the transaction.
