« Prog » - Key
When the dis played I/O-cod ing cor re sponds to the de sired
chan nel con fig u ra tion, the codes will be down load ed to the
smar t-house mod ule when press ing the « Prog » key.
After pro gram ming is execut ed, a ver ifi ca tion takes place. If this
ver ifi ca tion fails, all acti vat ed LEDs in the display will flash two
times, and the pro gram ming unit will switch off.
If such beha vi our occurs repeat ed ly on the same module, the
mod ule may be faulty. If sev er al mod ules fail to down load, the
BGP-COD-BAT may be faulty.
Indi vid u al In/Out chan nel pro gram ming
The BGP-COD-BAT fea tures an addi tion al mode of sin gle-chan nel
edit ing. Press ing « In/Out » for more than 2 seconds will
change the oper ating mode to sin gle point pro gram ming. The «
In/Out » key is now used to select one of the eight pos sible
inputs/out put, thus mak ing indi vid u al chan nel cod ing pos sible.
The In/Out-LEDs assign the dis play chan nel code to the cor re
-
spond ing phys i cal input/out put of the mod ule.
In sin glemode the « Channel » key also has the abil ity to dis able
an In/Out-posi tion. « Chan nel » must sim ply be pressed past
chan nel 8, where by both the Chan nel LED and the Group LED
will turn off. To re enable, just press « Chan nel » again.
It is pos sible to change all eight Inputs/Out puts, even though
some smart-house modules are built for only 1, 2 or 4
Inputs/Out puts.
To exit sin gle chan nel program ming, just keep the
« In/ Out » key pressed for 2 seconds.
Out put stat us set ting
On receiv ers it is pos sible to con fig ure the stat us of the out puts
dur ing smart-house fail ure. Nor mal ly, any out put of a receiv er
will go off dur ing smart-house fail ure. In some cas es the invert ed func tion is desir able (e.g. light appli ca tions - turn on light if
the smart-house is down).
To change out put stat us, the BGP-COD-BAT must be put into
con fig u ra tion mode. This is done as fol lows:
• Remove any con nect
ed smart-house system.
• Keep both « In/Out » and « Group » pressed, while press ing
« Read/On ».
The first In/Out LED now turns on. Con nect the smart-house
system, and press « Read/On ». If out put stat us is set, then
chan nel LED 1 will illu mi nate. Press ing « Chan nel » will tog gle
the out put stat us On/Off.
Press « Prog » to store.
If « Read/On » is pressed when no smart-house system is con nect ed, the LEDs will flash to indi cat ed a false con di tion. Only a
suc cess ful read ing will reset this con di tion.
Oth er fea tures
To code a smart-house mod ule off-line, nei ther smart-house nor
pow er to sup ply the mod ule is required. Sim ply con nect the
mod ule to the pro grammer and start cod ing.
If On-line cod ing (mod ule connect ed to an oper at ing smarthouse system) is per formed, the mod ule auto mat i cal ly discon nects ifself from the smart-house and returns to normal oper a tion after the program mer cable is dis con nect ed.
The BGP-COD-BAT auto mat i cal ly turns off when no key has been
pressed with in the last 30 sec onds.
If the con nec tion cable is removed from the smar t-house
module, the BGP-COD-BAT will switch off with in 2 sec onds.
Low bat tery indi ca tion
When bat tery is low, the In/Out row of LEDs will roll cen ter wards in an eye-catch ing man ner.
Warning
When using the BGP-COD-BAT you must connect the cable to
the BGP-COD-BAT before connecting the cable to any smarthouse module that is to be coded. Even so, the cable must first
be removed from the smart-house module before disconnecting
it from the BGP-COD-BAT.
Without observing these precautions you may destroy the ASIC
inside the smart-house module through static discharges.
Cau tion
To ensure long bat tery life, always remem ber to remove the
cable from the smart-house mod ules. The smart-house
modules will be kept in an inac tive state as long as the BGPCOD-BAT is con nect ed.
