Connector panel
You can use the connector panel on the left side of the
interactive flat panel to connect a room computer, guest laptops
and other devices.

The SMARTBoard® 8000i-G5-SMP series interactive flat panels
feature SMART’s proprietary DViT® (Digital Vision Touch)
technology and combine a premium touch experience with the
power of SMART MeetingPro® software. These interactive flat
panels are also available with SMARTkappiQ™ functionality, which
provides simple and powerful digital whiteboarding.
After you’ve connect ed computers and other devices to the
interactive flat panel, switch between these devices by pressing
Turning on the interactive flat panel
The interactive flat panel’s presence detection sensor can detect
people up to 16' (5 m) away when the interactive flat panel is in
Standby mode. When the sensor detects people, the interactive
flat panel turns on. Touching the screen activates the interactive
flat panel.
The interactive flat panel returns to Standby mode when the
sensor doesn’t detect people in the room for a while.

Press the Standby button on the front control panel to turn it
on.
Control panel
The interactive flat panel is available with SMARTkappiQ
functionality. You can share whiteboard sessions with others
using your mobile device. Participants can contribute to the
whit eboard session from their computers or mobile devices. To
take advantage of SMARTkappiQ functionality, install the AM30
appliance in t he accessory slot located on the back of the
interactiveflatpanel.

SMART Meeting Pro® software
The interactive flat panel comes with a SMART MeetingPro
software room license and 25 SMART MeetingPro software
personal licenses.
To write or draw in digital ink
1. If the interactive flat panel isn’t in whiteboard mode, select
Whiteboard .
2. Pick up one of the interactive flat panel’s pens.
The dynamic toolbar for that pen appears on the screen.
Press the dynamic toolbar to expand it, and then change the
pen’s style (pen or highlighter), color and thickness.
3. Use the pen to write or draw digital ink.
NOTE
The PenID™ feature enables the users to customize the
colors and other settings for their pens independently.
To erase digital ink using a pen
1. If the interactive flat panel isn’t in whiteboard mode, select
Whiteboard .
2. Pick up one of the interactive flat panel’s pens.
The dynamic toolbar for that pen appears on the screen.
3. Use the pen’s eraser to erase digital ink.
To zoom in
1. If the interactive flat panel isn’t in whiteboard
mode, select Whiteboard .
2. Drag your fingers away from each other.
To zoom out
1. If the interactive flat panel isn’t in whiteboard
mode, select Whiteboard .
2. Drag your fingers toward each other.
Saving your work
To connect a USB drive to save files
Connect the USB drive to the USB receptacle on the bottom
left hand corner of the interactive flat panel.
To erase digital ink using your palm or fist
1. If the interactive flat panel isn’t in whiteboard mode, select
Whiteboard .
2. Use your palm or fist to erase digital ink.
Navigating workspaces
Workspaces have no defined boundaries and can be significantly
larger than the area visible on-screen.
To pan
1. If the interactive flat panel isn’t in whiteboard
mode, select Whiteboard .
2. Press the screen in a blank area of the
workspace.
3. Drag in the direction you want to pan.
To save the current workspace
1. If the interactive flat panel isn’t in whiteboard mode, select
Whiteboard .
2. Select File > Save As.
3. Browse to the location where you want to save the file.
4. Type the file name and select the file type.
5. Press Save.
