1 Einleitung

Der smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 dient dazu Ihren smart-Receiver
Zappix HD+ oder CX10 (Stand Juni 2011) WLAN-fähig zu machen
und somit den kabellosen Zugang zum smartPORTAL, zum
Internet oder Ihrem Heimnetzwerk zu ermöglichen.

In der, dem Receiver beiliegenden, Betriebsanlei­tung (ab Juni 2011) bzw. im smartPORTAL­Zusatzblatt finden Sie eine Beschreibung über die
Funktionen, die Ihnen nun zugänglich sind. Sollte
Ihre Anleitung einem älteren Datum entsprechen,
finden Sie die aktuellste Version immer in unserem
Support Center unter www.smart-electronic.de.

2 Sicherheitshinweise

Der smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 darf nur auf die in dieser
Anleitung beschriebene Weise und für keinen anderen als
den vorgesehenen Zweck verwendet werden.

 Lesen Sie vor der Benutzung des Sticks die Bedienungsanlei-

tung sorgfältig durch. Bewahren Sie die Bedienungsanleitung
für späteres Nachschlagen oder zur Aushändigung an Dritte
auf.

Sicherheitshinweise

 Versuchen Sie nie, den Stick selbst zu reparieren.

 Setzen Sie den Stick keinem Staub, intensiver Sonneneinstrah-

lung, Feuchtigkeit, hohen Temperaturen oder mechanischen
Erschütterungen aus.

 Verwenden Sie keine ätzenden oder aggressiven Reinigungs-

mittel.

 Technische Manipulationen oder Änderungen am smart

PORTAL-STICK PX1 sind aufgrund von Sicherheits- und Zulas­sungsgründen verboten.

Hinweise zur Entsorgung

 Entsorgen Sie die Verkaufsverpackung des

smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 nach dem Auspacken
über den gelben Sack bzw. die gelbe Tonne.
Entsprechend der Verpackungsverordnung
wird diese dann von dem von uns beauftrag­ten Verwerter dem Recycling zugeführt.

 Werfen Sie den smart PORTAL-STICK PX1

keinesfalls in den normalen Hausmüll!

 Erkundigen Sie sich bei Ihrer Stadt- oder

Gemeindeverwaltung nach Möglichkeiten
einer umwelt- und sachgerechten Entsorgung.

3 Anschließen des smart PORTAL-STICK PX1

Abhängig davon, ob Sie den smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 als einziges
USB-Gerät betreiben, oder ob daneben noch weitere USB-Geräte
betrieben werden, schließen Sie den Stick direkt am Receiver oder
an einem USB-Hub an.

PORTAL-STICK PX1 als einziges USB-Gerät:

Wenn Sie beispielsweise nur Live-Fernsehen und das Internet
nutzen wollen, brauchen Sie keinen USB-Datenträger oder Sie
benutzen, falls Ihr Receiver diese Möglichkeit bietet, für Aufnah­me, Timeshift oder Medienwiedergabe einen eSATA-Datenträger.

1. Schalten Sie den Receiver über den Netzschalter an der
Geräterückseite aus.

2. Stecken Sie den smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 am USB­Anschluss an der Rückseite des Receivers ein.

3. Schalten Sie den Receiver wieder ein.

4. Die blaue LED am smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 blinkt.

PORTAL-STICK PX1und weitere USB-Peripheriegeräte

Falls Sie die Aufnahme- und/oder die Timeshift-Funktionen in
Verbindung mit einem USB-Datenträger nutzen möchten, oder
falls Sie zur leichteren Bedienung eine USB-Tastatur betreiben
möchten, müssen Sie über einen USB-Hub mehrere USB-Geräte
anschließen.

1. Schalten Sie den Receiver über den Netzschalter an der
Geräterückseite aus.

2. Schließen Sie am USB-Anschluss an der Rückseite des
Receivers einen USB-Hub (-Verteiler) an.

3. Schließen Sie den PORTAL-STICK PX1 an den USB-Hub an.

4. Schließen Sie an den USB-Hub einen oder mehrere USB­Datenträger an. Sofern Sie weitere USB-Geräte betreiben
möchten (z. B. USB-Tastatur), schließen Sie diese jetzt auch
an.



Die Gesamtstromaufnahme aller angeschlossenen
USB-Geräte darf 500 mA nicht übersteigen.

5. Schalten Sie den Receiver wieder ein. Die blaue LED am
smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 blinkt.

4 Einrichten des smart PORTAL-STICK PX1

Nach dem Anschluss des smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 an den
Receiver, müssen Sie die WLAN-Verbindung noch konfigurieren.
So gehen Sie dazu vor:

1. Navigieren Sie im Receiver-Menü zum Untermenü Netz-
werk (im Menü Einstellungen) und drücken Sie OK.

2. Wählen Sie Kabelloses Netzwerk und drücken Sie OK.

3. Wählen Sie im nächsten Fenster Manuelle WLAN Konfigu-
ration aus. Nach OK sucht der Receiver die verfügbaren
Netzwerke.

4. Wählen Sie nun ihr Netzwerk aus und drücken Sie OK.
Hinter der Netzwerkverbindung blinkt nun der Cursor für
die Eingabe des Schlüssels / Passworts.

5. Geben Sie ihren WLAN Schlüssel über die Zifferntasten der
Fernbedienung ein und drücken Sie anschließend OK, um
die Eingabe zu bestätigen.

6. Drücken Sie die grüne Funktionstaste (Verbinden). Der
Receiver verbindet sich mit dem Netzwerk. Wenn der Ver­bindungsaufbau erfolgreich war, wird dies am oberen Bild­schirmrand angezeigt.

7. Drücken Sie die rote Funktionstaste (Beenden), um
wieder zum vorigen Fenster zurückzukehren.

 Wählen Sie Status, um das Statusfenster (s. o.) zu öffnen.
 Wählen Sie Netzwerk Service, um eine Überwachung der

Netzwerkverbindung zu aktivieren.

1 Introduction

With the smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 you can make your smart
receiver Zappix HD+ or CX10 (status June 2011) WLAN capable. It
allows you to get wireless access to the smartPORTAL, the
Internet or your home network.

Scope of Delivery:

In the user manual, which is attached to the
receiver (from June 2011) or in the smartPORTAL­supplement, you get a description of the functions
which are available now. If your manual is older
than June 2011, you can get the latest version
always at our support center at www.smart
electronic.de.

2 Safety Instructions

The smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 must be used only in the way
described in this instruction manual and may not be used for
a purpose not intended.

 Before using the PORTAL-STICK PX1, please read these

operating instructions carefully. Please keep the instruction
manual for consultation purposes or for possibly handing it
over to third parties.

 Do not try to repair the WLAN stick yourself.

 Do not expose your WLAN stick to dust, intense sunlight,

humidity, high temperatures or mechanical shocks.

 Do not use any corrosive or aggressive cleansing agents.

Disposal

 Dispose of the smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 sales

package on the yellow bag or the yellow bin.
We charged a waste management company to
recycle it according to the appropriate nation­al law (only for Germany).

 Inquire at your city or local government about

proper and environmentally suitable disposal
methods for the unit.

3 Installation

Depending on whether you operate the PORTAL-STICK PX1 as
exclusive USB device, or whether you operate it in addition to
other USB devices, plug the stick directly to the receiver or to a
USB hub.

The PORTAL-STICK PX1 is the only USB device

If you want to use only live television or the Internet, you do not
need a USB disk or you can use an eSATA disk for recording, time
shift or media playback, if your receiver offers this option.

1. Turn off the receiver via the power switch on the rear panel.

2. Plug the WLAN stick to the rear panel USB port of the
receiver.

3. Switch on the receiver.

4. The blue LED on the PORTAL-STICK PX1 starts to blink.

The PORTAL-STICK PX1 and other USB peripherals

If you want to use the recording and / or time-shift functions in
conjunction with a USB disk, you need to connect multiple USB
devices.

1. Turn off the receiver via the power switch on the rear panel.

2. Connect a USB hub to the rear panel USB port of the
receiver.

3. Connect the smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 to the USB hub.

4. Connect a USB disk or several disks to the USB hub. If you
want to use more USB devices (such as a USB keyboard),
connect them now, too.



The total power consumption of all connected USB
devices may not exceed 500 mA.

5. Switch on the receiver again.

6. The blue LED on the PORTAL-STICK PX1 starts to blink.

4 Setup

After connecting the smart PORTAL-STICK PX1 to the receiver,
you must configure the wireless connection:

1. In the receiver menu go to the submenu Network (in the
Settings menu) and press OK.

2. Select Wireless network and press OK.

3. In the next window select Manual connect to a wireless
network. After OK the receiver looks for available networks.

4. Select your network and press OK. Beside the network
connection you should insert your key / password.

5. Insert your WLAN key with the numeric keys of the remote
control and press OK, in order to confirm your entry.

6. Press the green function key. The receiver connects with
the network. At the top of the screen it is indicated if the
connection is established successfully.

7. Press the red function key, in order to go back to the
previous window.

 Select Status, in order to open the Status window (see

above).

 Select Network service, in order to activate a network

quality control.
